- Another great experienceLocaldinerDined on 9/8/2014I have visited several times, for lunch and dinner, during the week. Service has always been perfect. Greeted by name based on reservation. Seated while waiting for balance of party to arrive. Not rushed at all. Food tasty (chicken club sand, short rib tacos, peach salad). Totally satisfied. Pricey, but worth it.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- OpenTable Diner Since 2008Dined on 9/5/2014Fabulous! My new favorite place for brunch at the beach! Can't wait to go back!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- 1st rate oceanside dining alfrescoOpenTable Diner Since 2013Dined on 9/3/2014A friend introduced me to this terrific restaurant. I'm very glad he did. I, in turn, have taken several friends there for lunch and am looking forward to having dinner there with my wife. In keeping with current SoCal fashion, the menu is focused and farm market fresh. Yet there is plenty of variety. Space does not allow me to list all the outstanding dishes. Service is vey professional and cordial. The setting is spectacular from a deck hanging over the surf. The view is of the Malibu Pier and Surfrider beach beyond. A great place to take out of town guests for a true Malibu experience. The hotel and the restaurant are Larry Ellison. In my opinion, Ellison is the best thing to happen in Malibu since the invention of the surfboard.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Beautiful!MariDined on 8/31/2014Welcoming, excellent service from the moment you pull up to the valet parking. I would highly recommend a reservation if you want to sit outside as the outdoor area is intimate. 4 different dishes and all were very good! The space is beautiful, the service from greeting to goodbye, was outstanding and the food was lovely. Restaurants on the water tend to focus on the location and forget about the food or service. The Malibu Inn transports you to a 5-star resort, not the boardwalk!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- A spectacular settingfogiesnightoutDined on 8/29/2014My wife and I ate here early on a Friday night. Once we got through the traffic (we were 20 minutes late) we were seated in the outdoor patio, which I had requested. For the rest of the meal we could hardly take our eyes off the scenery as we watched the sun set. The service was excellent and the food quite acceptable. We stuck to sea food but had trouble finding a white wine dry enough for our tastes. To their credit we were asked if we wanted to taste wines before ordering them and finally settled for a full body Pinot. There was a nice choice of desserts and the coffee was quite good. Overall the view made the dinner a bit less important and we certainly plan to returnSpecial Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Love it!Love2eatVIPDined on 8/22/2014CBC has it all: good food, cozy atmosphere, breathtaking beach view and excellent service. I had been a number of times with friends for lunch, but had yet to try the dinner scene. My husband and I went most recently for our wedding anniversary. It was great: just what we wanted for a nice, romantic low-key celebration. The staff was very accommodating and attentive and our waitress, Grace, was excellent. We will go back soon!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Expected moreOpenTable Diner Since 2012VIPDined on 8/14/2014Great location, with a wonderful terrace overlooking the Pacific. Food was just okay, you pay for the view.Special Features:
- Nice ocean view!VetyExyVIPDined on 8/11/2014Beautiful location to be so close to the Waves! Good pasta and gelato!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Excellent view, horrible service!KFERDined on 8/7/2014The views are breath taking, the food is yummy, but our service was horrible.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- wheatsDined on 8/6/2014We had the fish tacos and the short rib tacos. They were deeeeelicious!!! We loved the beautiful setting with a table outside! Our service was excellent!Special Features:
- Delicious place!Earsrr06Dined on 8/6/2014Went to celebrate my boyfriends birthday! Everything was so good, and the view was just amazing. Our waiter was very friendly as well, also there was another man helping out, giving us refils. Awesome experience!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- True Oceanfront DiningJMWSDined on 8/5/2014We dined here twice during a Malibu stay. During both dining experiences, we were seated on the outdoor patio, which provides the most amazing view of Millionaire's Beach. Waves are crashing right below the patio and if you're as lucky as we were, you might even see some marine life. The owners have considered every aspect of the restaurant - oversized umbrellas for shade, heat lamps for warmth and they even provide embroidered blankets for chilly ocean breezes. The food was spectacular and wonderfully presented. We very much enjoyed the Flatbread and Brew promotion that was offered during our visit. They have a lounge menu in the afternoon and the fried calamari was the best I have ever eaten. The staff was friendly and pleasant.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- DisappointedDisappointedDined on 7/31/2014My wife and I tried this restaurant for her birthday on Thursday night. Up one arriving, we were excited because of the location and layout. We had a table on the patio overlooking the beach. The menu was nice, good variety. I ordered water with lemon wedges for my drink. The lemons didn't come until the third reminder. They messed up the order three times, brought an extra appetizer, forgot my wife's side for her entree and didn't do the birthday candle in the dessert after I had specified in the reservation and they greeted us with happy birthday wishes at the desk. Not what I would expect for a 180.00 dinner. Food was great.Special Features:
- plsbDined on 7/31/2014We had the most pleasant experience at the Carbon Beach Club Restaurant. Our server was friendly and never made us feel rushed, always came to the table with a smile and friendly words, He made our experience to enjoyable. I was there with my 85 and 86 years young parents and they loved the whole day. Thank youSpecial Features:
- riomVIPDined on 7/25/2014Good food and excellent service in a beautiful setting on the waterSpecial Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Best in LAWexlerDined on 7/23/2014I love coming here. The view on the deck is amazing and the food is consistently excellent. In the evenings they provide blankets for those who are cold. - Make sure you ask for the deck. It is a unforgettable view. I have not been unimpressed with any meal they have brought out. I usually do their special for the day.
- Always a pleasureKiso20Dined on 7/18/2014Come here almost twice a week and have never been disappointed. The food is good, not the best but the outdoor scenery makes everything perfect!!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- YumLocaldinerDined on 7/17/2014One of our party had scallops with heritage tomatoes, two of us had crab cakes. We also had roasted corn and sweet potato fries sides. Dessert was Tres Leche cake. All the food was excellent. Service was great. On a patio right above the breakers. Great view of the pier. Kind of pricey, but everything done so nicely!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- SesherDined on 7/14/2014The food was delicious. Served hot and the portions were very generous. I've eaten dinner here a few years ago and was truly impressed with the menu, choices and presentation. Such a beautiful setting especially in summer. Prices are similar to other high end restaurants.Special Features:
- Malibu PerfectionEat4funVIPDined on 7/9/2014I'm a local and hate giving such a great review because it may make it tougher to get a table, but this is the perfect adult eating and drinking experience in Malibu. Great views, great food, and great service and intimate and romantic yet fun with friends.Special Features:
- Great atmosphere and decent foodArnie422Dined on 7/3/2014I have been going to this restaurant for a few years and it's one of my favorites. Great service and can't beat the view. I do have to say that they changed the menu since last time I was there and the food isn't as good. They have similar menu items as before but seems like they tweaked them a bit and not for the better. The other people I was with felt the same way...Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Amazing viewWexlerDined on 7/1/2014Not only is the view one of the best in Los Angeles, the food is to die for. My clam chowder was top notch. It was served in a fresh and tasty bread bowl with clams still in their shells. Our main course was pasta with ribs. A+ as well.Special Features:
- Outstanding.GooseDined on 6/20/2014The restaurant was beautiful, peaceful and romantic. We could not find a better ocean ambiance with an intimate setting. The menu, drinks, food and service was exceptional. We have already told our friends who live in Malibu, Westlake, Topanga and Calabasas about our dining experience. We will be going back soon for a birthday celebration! The lamb tagine and bone-in-filet were excellent.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Wow!clubruinDined on 6/8/2014The food was excellent. The view iconic! We will be back for special occasions.Special Features:

- Very nice mealDateNightDiningDined on 5/16/2014Took the wife out to Malibu for a nice dinner at Carbon Beach. View of the ocean/Malibu Pier is fantastic. Food was terrific, as was the service.Special Features:
- My happy placeIsland2016Dined on 5/11/2014Always an amazing experience from the service, to the food, and the view….The Bloody Marys are so tasty, with just the right amount of spicy. Every dish is delicious. Even the french fries are done perfectly. The Lobster club is packed with perfectly done, tender lobster. I just ate at the Ivy and had over done, dry Lobster…yuck. I could sit here for an entire day and sip bloody marts, if not for the fact that I need to drive back to Santa Monica at some point. Beautiful.Special Features:
- Beware, but EnjoyDrShorterVIPDined on 5/4/2014Tough call: amazing view, comfortable seating, excellent menu options, and the waitstaff was excellent (we had Michelle). That said, the host/hostess situation was a total mess. They lost our reservation then said we couldn't have a nicer table since we didn't have a reservation (though I had an email from OpenTable confirming our reservation). Nothing on Open Table said anything about not getting brunch until 11 and our rez was for 10:45 and we were pressured to order from the breakfast menu since it was not yet 11. But how were we to know before traveling to Malibu?? They turne people away but then had lots of open tables. Keep in mind the food and drinks are expensive for what they are. But, the view makes the prices worth it.Special Features:
- Wonderful Views with Great FoodAledo99Dined on 4/30/2014This is an incredibly welcoming restaurant. The food is very good and the service is also very good. The views and the ambience are over-the-top!!!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- NiceplaceDined on 4/30/2014I enjoyed my experience at The Carbon Beach. First, the staff was super friendly, especially the server named Tracy. The view is stunning and u have access to the beach and make great pictures.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Easy to miss, but you shouldn't.SuzanneHiltonDined on 4/30/2014I almost don't want to tell people about this lovely restaurant in the Malibu Beach Inn, because it will make it harder to get a table. But this restaurant on the water with a lovely view of the ocean is perfect no matter what inside or outside table you sit at. The food is delicious and not your ordinary salads and sandwiches. Parking is validated with lunch (still costs $7), but lunch is as good as Nobu down the road and half the price. Shh, keep it a secret. :-)Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Scenery and staffOpenTable Diner Since 2007VIPDined on 4/29/2014Though the food was quite good the staff, courteous and efficient, and the scenery, waves and whales, made the evening! Only noise we heard was the waves! Was a pleasure to dine at Carbon Beach Club Restaurant!Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- Beautiful viewAmineDined on 4/27/2014Very good burgers, especially the lobster one! Very beautiful view!Special Features:
- Beautiful View!MaryamVIPDined on 4/27/2014You come here for the view, but the food is actually very good. We had brunch, huevos rancheros, delicious. We ordered the buckwheat waffle, our attempts of being "healthy." It was very good as well. It is over priced as expected but the view is seriously ridiculous. The check and valet were definitely worth it.Special Features:I would recommend this to a friend.
- A havenOpenTable Diner Since 2006Dined on 4/16/2014Wonderful place to stay, calm and relaxing. Staff were outstanding, great service and great food. A genuinely relaxing place to stay.Special Features:
- Not Good, will try a second timeRickDined on 4/6/2014Fantastic location. Wife's chicken was dry. My first steak sent back because it was Medium, not Med Rare. Second steak too rare. Had to find a waiter to send the first one back, and nobody asked about the 2nd. Got frustrated and ate around the edges. Hate paying $45 for a steak that I can cook better. No manager inquired, either. But, it is a beautiful spot and will try it again.Special Features:
- The BEST view in MalibuSdpinnycVIPDined on 3/25/2014The view at Carbon Beach Club Restaurant in the Malibu Beach Inn is the BEST in Malibu. You are literally sitting right over the beach with big gorgeous rocks and the ocean waves crashing underneath you. The outdoor dining here is much more romantic and beautiful than Nobu or Nikita (although both of those are still amazing) because its a much smaller intemdiate venue. Great spot for a romantic sunset dinner or small group. Bring your date or bring your parents here when they are visiting. The food was also really delicious. Great seafood, steaks, veggies. All-around excellent menu and fine dining experience. They have a lot of specials throughout the week with wine/beer pairings. Service was excellent. Wine list was great. WONDERFUL!Special Features:
- Birthday Breakfast TreatLALouiseBDined on 3/7/2014Great spot to soak up the ocean views, the outdoor terrace literally hangs over the sand, couldn't be more idyllic for a special treat. Food was outstanding, highly recommend the eggs benedict with salmon. Servers are attentive and polite. Will definitely be back!Special Features:
