We have lived in San Francisco all my life and never tried this restaurant, glad we had a coupon that made us come to find this restaurant. Having a parking lot is definitely a plus, especially with all the construction going on.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat RestaurantWe were in San Francisco for a ball game and went to Capurro's for lunch. They make the best wood roasted crab! The staff was excellent and the owner, Paul was very nice. They welcome you at the door and the courtesy continued all the way through!5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMA delicious introduction toA delicious introduction to dungeness crab in a lovely setting.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMCapurros for CrabGreat for out of town guests to introduce them to the San Francisco flavor. Great crab, excellent and friendly wait staff. Decent wine and beer selections. We had a wonderful experience.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy partner and I dined withMy partner and I dined with a groupon for the crab dinner. The service was outstanding and attentive. The red chowder was bland, devoid of body or content and resembled a canned tomato soup. The Caesar salad never met an anchovy and was only sightly more familiar with Parmesan. But these weren't the items we came for.
The crabs were wonderful. The roasted was served in a tasty broth which invited sopping and the steamed was supplied with clarified butter. Both were perfectly cooked, exceptionally delights to the tongue.
Finally the butterscotch pudding was rich and a great finish.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMGenerally the food and serviceGenerally the food and service were really good. It did take three requests to get additional bread and the busboy was the one who finally fulfilled the request and then all was right in the world. The woodstone crab was wonderful and cooked to perfection and with the additional bread the meal was complete.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMBest crabWe arrived at the restaurant at the reservation time and was seated immediately. We both ordered the Woodstone Roasted Crab. I had the ceasar salad and my husband had the pasta w/marinara. Both were very good. The crab was the best I've had. I will definitely be returning.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMJust a nice family drivenJust a nice family driven place, friendly and all in one just a nice place. Even though it is in the touristic spot they do not try to overprice and prices are fair. Got a groupon and it was totally worth it!3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMOven Roasted Crab, Delicious! Our reservations were at 6:30, we ordered drinks from the happy hour menu,(5-7) $5 for a good martini. For dinner we chose the wood oven roasted dungeness crab! We started out with a cub of warm clam chowder, delicious,it helped warm us up from the SF chill. With dinner we ordered the house white wine it went very well with the crab. Our crabs arrived with a bib, which we needed as we cracked the crab. The sauce was a white wine sauce with garlic, red pepper flakes and other delicious spices. The crab was cooked in the pizza oven and turned half way through, the juices from the crab making up the rest of the sauce. We dipped our sourdough bread to soak up the sauce, savoring each bite. Service was excellent! Great dinner!3/11/2013 12:00:00 AM
