We have dined at Captain Jack's several times and always had good experiences. It's nice to see them on OpenTable for reservations. The view of the marinas by Lake St. Clair is so calming. Good burgers, beer and service. I like the fish and chips, also.

I ate at Captain Jacks around 5:00 on a Tuesday evening. There was only one other table taken. I was with 4 girl friends for girls night out and 2 of the girls sent their pops back because they couldn't even recognize the taste of Cola. The fish and chips were a very generous portion, could have shared instead of getting 3 orders, but not much flavor to the fish. I ate all the fries, they were good. As far as a view, there really isn't any, you are looking at a boat building and a couple boats. We don't be back, boring place, could be the time of day we went.

The proximity to the waterfront is the best thing about Jack's. Food is mediocre at best. The French onion soup was bland. My sandwich was decent. The cook forgot the chicken on my wife's salad. The server was attentive at first, but she disappeared after bringing the appetizer.

  • Wine by the glass policy was bad.

Too early for boating season to rate it for waterside ambience. The food was upscale bar type. Wine choice was a disaster....horrid house wine was the only choice offered by the glass. Over priced J. Lohr $35.....you can get it for $12 at SAMs. Club ...by the bottle price. They turned the volume up on the overhead speakers so you HAD to listen to the televisions...not very classy. All you need is to see the TVs....this is not a sports bar....or is it? The service staff was friendly, helpful and very accommodating. My fish, walleye, was cooked to perfection. I will return.

This place was fine, but nothing special. The only wines they had by the glass were no-name house wines. Pretty cheap stuff. The fish and chips - the fish was fine. The chips were cold when I got them. Not what I expected in this really nice area.
