A word from Capriccio Saratoga
Capriccio Saratoga, sibling to Albany's renowned Cafe Capriccio, serves authentic Neapolitan cuisine including wood fired pizza (Vera Pizza Napolitana) assorted antipasti rustica, traditional regional pastas, bountiful main courses, and fabulous homemade desserts. Saratoga's most exciting new restaurant operated by Jim and Franco Rua. The Rua family restaurants have been Capital Region favorites for more than 35 years. Outdoor seating. Ideally located next to Congress Park. Already regarded as one of the area's finest restaurants, and a local favorite.

Franco and I love the cuisine of Napoli and it's people. We have visited the Campania region many times and are delighted to present Capriccio Saratoga as our tribute to Napoli, an exciting city filled with love, sunshine, great conviviality and fabulous food. Jim Rua

Diner Reviews
  • "Waiter (ROB) was exceptional at describing each meal. He made each one sound so good. Rob was able to find some gluten free items, and egg free items. The food was just as described!"

  • "We were out-of-towners in Saratoga and came to Capriccio Saratoga after reading some reviews, including OpenTable. We had a meatball appetizer and pizza, and both were excellent. The restaurant is small but did not feel crowded. My red wine (Sardinia) was a cut above the usual wine by the glass. The service was both friendly and efficient. All in all, a fine choice that left us happy and satisfied. We will return the next time we are in Saratoga (and have recommended it to Saratoga friends)."

  • "Using fresh, local ingredients really makes a difference! Service was spot on, fantastic wine list, and quiet cozy atmosphere. We will definitely eat here again!"

  • "Sauce, as in tomato, is the most important ingredient in an Italian restaurant...we had pizza, eggplant and a Ragu the sauce was wonderful, thus a great meal experience!"

  • "My wife and I took my father there for his birthday. While my wife did a series of small plates, my father and I split the calamari neri and the Neapolitana Pizza. The kitchen got the pizza wrong on the first try, but because the pizza is made in a wood fired oven the correct pizza came out about 90 seconds later and perfectly cooked. We really enjoy both restaurants – Albany and Saratoga – but for pizza, the Capriccio in Saratoga is the place to go."

  • "Once seated waiter came to take entree' order and never asked about appetizers. Had to ask twice about a second glass of wine, and then the Lobster Risotto was not good. Wasn't creamy or loose and seemed more like a Rice Pilaf. Once finished with our entree's waiter took and extremely long time to remove the empty plates from our table. I would not return to this restaurant."

  • "My husband was stuck in Denver on Valentines Day, so we celebrated a day late at Capriccio Saratoga. We had a nice table for two and enjoyed wine, a nice meal and a cappuccino. The food was delicious - the only criticism I have is that I feel that my entree was overpriced. My husband had lobster risotto, which he gave an 8 out of 10, and I had the cod special. Our dinners both ran $30. The cod was fresh and cooked well, but cod, a few roasted potatoes and vegetables did not taste like a $30 meal. We will return, but we'll probably stick with the wood fired pizza and salad."

  • "A very good Italian restaurant with friendly, attentive staff and a lot of local regulars. (It's also popular with tourists in the summer season.) We've been there three times and always had excellent meals."

  • "We were looking for good Italian food with friends on a Friday evening. Food was wonderful. Also had a bottle of Chianti Classico which was excellent. Only negative was music was too loud and energetic for a dining experience. We could not hear each other across the table until I asked the waitress to reduce volume, which she did promptly...but it was still intrusive. This is a minor issue that the owners can rectify easily, and we hope they do because the food is really great."

  • "Was our first time having dinner here and we were very pleased with the atmosphere, food selection and service. They have a great cab franc and there eggplant is incredible as well as there rigatoni with sweet sausage. Robbie our server was great!"

  • "Capriccio's is small so we were very happy they could accamodate our party of 12. Brittiney was our server and she did an outstanding job given the crowd. Food was wonderful - we had a variety of selections and our food all came out together. We do wish they had at least one selection of non alcoholic beer but aside from that we were well taken care of."

  • "Was a littlemdisappointed with the food. I had an amazing braised beef with a fabulous red wine sauce. The problem was the chef paired it with steamed broccoli, red peppers, and onions. There were two herb roasted potaos, but they were undercooked. Not great by any stretch of the imagination."

  • "This is the second time we've been to Capriccio and enjoyed the unique marinara sauce that David had described to us. This time we brought some friends along. We'll be back. We're happy to see a full house on Friday; the word must be getting around."

  • "If you are interested in pizza and wine, you may enjoy Capriccio. However, their entrees were not good at all, and two of us chose to not eat rather than eat what was served. Also very overpriced for quality of food. Specifically, we felt that the food was very bland. I would not go again and would not recommend this restaurant given the other options in the area."

  • "Absolutely outstanding. Excellent food, terrific service and some very interesting wines. For someone with 800 bottles in their cellar it was interesting to have a new find from their wine menu. I highly recommend this comfortable restaurant"

  • "I have an annual dinner with old friends every fall. We meet in Saratoga midway between our homes. I pick the place. This year, I chose Capriccio Saratoga because I have been trying to get there for a while. I have eaten at the Cafe Capriccio in Albany and absolutely loved the place, the food, the opera in the background...even the sort of threatening neighborhood. So to find that Jim Rua's son can impress even my friend David, who pulls no punches, with a fish of the day entree was amazing. We all shared a pizza and the small plate assorted meats dish for an appetizer. I got the ravioli special-great flavor with the pasta and sauce-and David's wife got the rigatoni ragu and loved it.We'll be back!"

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to check out Capriccio Saratoga to celebrate an anniversary. We ordered a salad and a pasta dish off of the specials list, and got a pizza with olives, artichokes, and prosciutto. To drink we ordered 2 dry red wines, about $8/apiece (most bottles are between $25 and $40). Everything we ate was perfectly prepared. No flaws in cooking, preparation, or service. Each dish was intelligently created, their flavors complimenting each other, and executed with impressive skill (salad, $12; pizza, $17; house-made ravioli, $20). Recommended; great for a date, though if anything, a bit toward the louder side of things."

  • "Pizza was very good. Great dough, very good pizza sauce. Used fresh mozzarella. Salad was not worth the money, Just lettuces and a couple tomato pieces, Not worth $10.00 at all. Olive oil for dipping bread was very good."

  • "My husband and I had a really great dinner here while we were visiting Saratoga. The whole ambience and the food was much nicer than I'd even hoped. Food was really fresh, well prepared and somewhat inventive. It was relaxed with a fun waitstaff. Wine choices were good and we enjoyed ourselves immensely."

  • "Dined here for our first time and the place is quaint & cute. We ordered a prosciutto & egg pizza as an appetizer and that was delicious & perfectly made. Meals were good; however, not your typical Italian style restaurant where you would expect either a baked lasagna or ziti entree option; not even a caeser salad. The menu was small including the wine list selection. We'd go back to enjoy a nice cocktail and pizza late night."

  • "Stopped in while in Saratoga for a bite. Didn't disappoint. We were seated right away at a great booth. Service was very good. Food was promptly served and for a Friday nite dinner things couldn't have been better. Will definitely be back."
