CapoPerfectI have wanted to go to Capo for ever, but was a bit worried about cost.
With our 15th wedding anniversary coming up, I decided to go for it.
What a wonderful evening. We had the 8 course chef's tasting menu, and it was wonderful.
What was also unique was that for several of the courses they brought my husband and I
different things, so we actually got to taste that much more of the food.
Okay, it was expensive...very, but It was worth it.
Service was great, very attentive.
I will definitely return.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was wonderful, ManagerFood was wonderful, Manager was rude when we asked for our wine to be uncorked. He stated harshly WE HAVE A CORKAGE FEE. which is not a surprise but he refused to tell us the cost. He tossed the menu at us and told us to read the fee on the first page, then he walked off.
The fee was 50.00 how stupid is that when we also paid $400.00 on dinner.
DEAR CAPO MAMAGER note: People who chose to bring thier own wine are not CHEAP but like thier favorite wines while dinning at wonderful locations.
Learn to treat customers kinder. Loved the food but we will not be back!!5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding although musicOutstanding although music didn't match the atmosphere. Loud Billy Joel?
Great service and unique food5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMAll around a fantastic, butAll around a fantastic, but very expensive, dining experience.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMThe only problem we encounteredThe only problem we encountered here was that we had made a reservation for 8:00 but didn't get seated until 8:30. Once we were seated the servers were knowledgeable and friendly. We opted for the tasting menu and it was the most complete meal I have ever had. I love the ambiance and especially the grill in the back corner. I would definitely recommend this place for a special occasion or if you have the money go every weekend!4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't come early, the barDon't come early, the bar is not available and the entrance is very small. The host and waiter staff were exceptional. Friendly, warm, helpful and available. The wine selection is impressive. We made four selections and they didn't have any of them. So we let the waiter decide. He chose a personal favorite of his, not memorable. You see the prices on line, enough said. The salads were okay, caesar and green salads. The rissoto was delicious, portobello, crab and lobster, respectively. There is a 35 minute wait for rissoto, so we all ordered one. After all that food, the apple tart (also prepared fresh with a wait) was just the right ending to the meal. It was small and light. Very nice ambiance, tables close together.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMBest in LAEverything we order (about 14 different dishes) were great!
Can't go to LA and don't stop by CAPO.
Although being in the beach and not looking at the sea is a shame"3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, rude and pushy attitideGreat food, very rude attitude.
Even though we were told that the table had to turn in 2 hours, the waiter consistently reminded us of it throughout the dinner, to the point of annoyance, and just pure rudeness. For spending almost $900 on a dinner that lasted 2 hours is ridiculous for such a fine food spot. When we ordered our next bottle of wine, the waiter, looked at his watch and said I don't know if you can do that given you only have 1/2 hour left for dinner. What a joke, for 5 people dining. If the food wasn't so great, I'm not sure if I would ever return.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMI have been here man times.I have been here man times. It's always superb! The carbonara is fantastic.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMAmong the best Italian fareTruly one of the best Italian restaurants in Los Angeles. Superb grilled caeser, fantastic octupus in a spicy tomato reduction, delicious rigatoni with truffle oil and superb steaks. Only problem is diners linger at their tables. On the 3 last visits, we waited from 15 to 45 minutes past our reservation time to be seated. While this tarnishes the experience, the food is worth the wait.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMNot for the faint at heartNot for the faint at heart with the purse strings but worth it. Went with a friend for his birthday and we got the tasting menu. $115 each at the time. The chef picks with a little guidance for from you. Great idea especially if you have never been there and you don’t mind trying a little off of each other’s plate. We had two half bottles of wine; White/red. Worked perfect as the fish and red meat came, the white and red came. Wine not part of the $115.3/12/2013 12:00:00 AM
