They really made it special, from the table decorations, sample of the pineapple vodka, birthday dessert, to all of the staff that worked with us wishing him a happy birthday. I'm usually rather critical when dealing with higher end restaurants, but can not give this place enough praise. Our server was one of the best I've had in my life. He was attentive to our every need and at the end of the meal, when we said we were in a rush to get to a show, even called a cab for us (and walked us out)! We both ordered the filet mignon and the lobster mac n cheese. The steaks were cooked just right and the mac n cheese was delicious. My girlfriend even received a complimentary shot of their house vodka when the server learned she wasn't a fan. She loves at least one kind of vodka now! Service - I was there with my sister at the bar and we both look pretty young. This place has a lot of older clientele and from what I can tell a lot of them come in alone and are regulars. This meant that we didn't really get the best attention at first.
Ambiance - Lively, which I like at a bar but not too loud. Towards the end this couple came in and tried to squeeze in next to me with only one chair and the bartender politely asked if i was okay and had a enough room to give the guy the hint that he needed to give me my space. For $230 for two people I expect nothing less.

Upon entering the restaurant I asked about valet parking and was told it didn't start until 5pm. I told the maitre d' that information might be good on web site. He explained why it wasn't and then asked me for my parking stub. Making a longish story short the maitre d' went next door to the parking lot and changed my status to valet parking which saved me at least $20. Great start to an outstanding meal with top notch service. The steaks were prepared perfectly as were the marvelous sides. We had high expectations based on other reviews and were to disappointed. The noise level is high but it was still possible to have normal conversation without straining to hear. The food and ambience were good and the location was also good. I was catching up with a good friend I don't get to see often enough. The Managers welcomed us, and checked on us. Server Tom Stevens did a spectacular job of keeping our glasses full, bringing the food at a reasonable pace, but allowing us to catch up. He recommended a fantastic red Zinfandel, which we totally enjoyed. Salads were crisp. Appetizers were fresh and delicious. Steaks were superb. We had a blast. The steak is simply the best and the location and scene is up there with the best as well. Only things not great are the au gratin potatoes (bit dry) and the $$$$ blow up your expense account wine list. The latter said there are several awesome offerings on the lower price end. The service from parking Valet to Maitre 'd to wait staff and bus servers was universally excellent. If you go ask for Manuel as your waiter. He was great. It was my girlfriend's birthday and they made it special without being obnoxious. A subtly decorated table, a complimentary glass of sparkling wine, and free desert all made the occasion special. A good place for big appetites because there is nothing small on the menu. Service was outstanding, attentive but not cloying, and good wine suggestions at very reasonable prices. Currently, the spring salad with jicama is quite good with interesting (in a good way) flavor combos. Had the veal chop; to my mind fattier than i would have liked, and a little bland, but good nonetheless. A shared side of truffle fries was splendid, crisp, hot, and a hint of truffle flavor, lobster mac n cheese good not great. Desserts, again, good not great. Excellent wine list--we had a great server in Tuffany who quite knowledgable about the menu and made some great recommendations. We had fresh sea bass and a wonderfully cooked steak. We did have the smoked salmon and it was a little saltier than I would have liked, but it was pretty well offset by the dill mayo and pita/chips crackers. The staff really went out of their way to make it a memorable meal and we'll definitely be back. Considering this restaurant is part of the Darden restaurant Group we seriously did not know what to expect when making the reservations. Having visited Season's 52 and Bahama Breeze we thought it might be in between. However it is truly a few steps above. What a wonderful experience and Darden has created a Gem. Our server was totally outstanding, delightful and quite knowledgeable with the menu choices. And the food was absolutely delicious. We highly recommend.
