Food was not as impressive, there were few dishes that were finished well, but half the table had the temperature on the steaks wrong. One steak which was ordered medium came out FULLY well done. Beef carpaccio needs severe revision, it would have been below average at your neighborhood walk in Aussie steak house. We had wine flowing through out the dinner and good company which added to the experience. The table was decorated in a low-key way, we were offered champagne, there was a card and a nice dessert. We have always had a wonderful time at the Capital Grille locations in Tampa, NYC and Massachusetts.

Its in a great location next to my favorite martini bar. Capital Grill is consistent with its quality and décor in every establishment and the staff is extremely knowledgeable about everything they serve. I enjoyed the oysters on the half shell and left room for the filet mignon and grilled asparagus. Both were well prepared. The desert was the coconut cream pie served as a torte. I was skeptical at first but the flavor was great and the combination worked. Service was good as the staff was attentive. I took my mother Friday night for Mother's Day and I just can't say enough good things. The service was perfect, my mom loved the ambiance and the food was phenomenal. The outdoor deck is great for dining and people watching, but was already a little warm to eat out there this time. I love their sour dough basket; the service is always above par and the food can be as light as you choose up to having a heavy steak...whatever anyone prefers. The servers don't rush you through the meal and seem to be pretty savvy that way knowing when to interrupt or not. Great spot and valet parking is comp'd. We were celebrating my birthday, and it was a pleasant surprise to have a beautiful long-stem red rose on the table, along with birthday greetings from the staff. We arrived 5 minutes early and they brought us right in and to our surprise they had our table decorated and had a birthday card for my husband. Our appetizer calamari with hot peppers was absolutely delicious and portions were more than enough for the two of us. My husband had the filet mignon which was extremely tender , moist and OUTSTANDING !! For dessert we ordered Creme brûlée which was also fabulous. This one was very good;not to the level of the first. Ordered a salad that never came. Mother's dressing was not warm as listed,& chairs were being moved around & slammed into our champagne bucket. We had to ask for the check after a long wait, my champagne glass was away mistakenly, & I had to wave someone down for another. one note: everyone has raved about the truffle fries, but i wasn't all that impressed. i mean the fries were really delicious, but lacked any flavor, like truffle or salt. but the texture of the fries was good.
-- when i dine out, i try not to add salt to a dish, i feel that just undermines the chef. ;)
