  • "We don't typically go to steakhouses, and restaurant week gave us the push to try Capital Grille. However, after the experience I don't think we will be back. I don't want to dis on the food though, it was great. Everything we ate, especially the steaks, were delicious and expertly seasoned, cooked exactly right. The service was merely alright, and I can't blame the wait staff. They did an excellent job with what they had to work with, which was an overly-crowded room, and having to get through too many diners. We felt like cattle. Additionally, the menu upsold us to get vegetables with our steaks, not exactly the restaurant week experience we had expected. We won't be back for regular dining when there are better options downtown."

  • "We went during Restaurant Week, had an 830pm reservation. We had to wait just 5 minutes for our table. We were seated in a comfy booth. My fiancé ordered the 3 course special, I ordered a salad. Wonderful atmosphere and service right from the start. Amazing amazing service throughout the evening, love the atmosphere of the restaurant. Excellent food, we are still raving about this restaurant, and cannot wait to go back. Thank you Capital Grille for a wonderful evening. Our compliments especially go out to the Manager CRAIG who provided above and beyond service."

  • "We arrived about 15 minutes early for a 6PM reservation on a Thursday. It was very crowded. Maitre de offered the bar while we waited for a table. Bar was busy and full. We were lucky to be near a couple just leaving that had earlier been given to them by a nice guy. We ordered Gret Goose martinis, which were delicious. They transferred the bar bill to our dinner tab when we were retrieved to our table. The food and wine were great! The fillet and salad were excellent! Great waiter (Daniel) offered a great suggestion for wine. No discount if your order a bottle -vs- by the glass. Guess there's a first time for everything. Would go back, but still prefer smaller places like "CROW""

  • "Four of us decided to celebrate my wife's birthday at Capital Grille. They were extremely busy when we arrived, possibly due to Seattle Restaurant Week promotion, so we waited in the bar area, which itself was lively. We did not get seated until a half hour after our reservation time, so the manager apologized profusely and offered us an appetizer on the house. When we were shown to our table, it was very nicely decorated with little confetti and there was a hand-written birthday card for my wife. Very nice touch! The meal was excellent, the service impeccable, and to round it all off, the waiter brought my wife a free dessert platter to share. A Class Act all around!"

  • "This is our favorite restaurant because everything is first class. They keep notes on us so that they can anticipate our every need. In our case, it's a quiet corner because of a hearing impairment. We don't have to ask, they already know. They always welcome us back. This time, we both had the sirloin steak, which was prepared just the way we wanted it. The service was impeccable. It was discreet, but always available."

The waiters are there when you need them, but then they stay away, never intrusive. We were thrilled with the food this time, just as always.   • "This was a surprise birthday for my husband and it was absolutely flawless. The table was scattered with confetti and we were served complimentary champagne upon our arrival. The lobster that Rick had was amazing and cooked to perfection. I had the ahi tuna and it was prepared perfectly. The service was excellent. We had eaten lunch a month ago here and this will be a regular dining place for us. The following day we received a call from the restaurant wanting to know how we enjoyed our dining experience!! These people really care!!"

  • "I come to this restaurant often, particularly with other co-workers and business guests, our office is across the street. Our two favorite servers had the night off and our dining experience suffered. It took 30 minutes after sitting down to receive our drinks. The quality of the food and drinks were great as always but everything seemed to take much longer than usual. My steak was grossly under-cooked (ordered Medium and it came out purple and cold in the center). They were able to reheat and ended up taking it off the bill, which was nice, but the overall service was a disappointment. If this was my first time at the restaurant I probably wouldn't come back. A tip to diners would be to find a server or two you like and stick with them."

Very knowledgeable servers with terrific attention to detail. They will keep your leftovers for you if you are on your way to an event.   • "We have held off trying this restaurant for several reasons--another steakhouse, higher prices, a chain... but to our delight, Capital Grille surpassed our expectations. The décor was warm and welcoming, the food fantastic and the service superb. Our concerns about this being a stuffy high end restaurant were unfounded. This restaurant rivals El Gaucho and Canlis' for good food and service. We will definitely place this on our list of "fine dining restaurants" and hope to return soon."

  • "Beautiful décor (in that classic steakhouse motif, but modern), nice service, and absolutely terrific lunch deals. If you have a day (or afternoon) off or want to show a client a great lunch, this is a great option. The Sliced Filet Mignon with Cipollini Onions and Wild Mushrooms was a great deal (I believe it was under $20!) and there were lovely wines by the glass at decent price points--and plenty to splurge on, if you'd rather. Quality of the steak itself is not quite up to Mortons or El Gaucho, but for that price, one doesn't expect miracles."

  • "We had a reservation for the bar but when we got there, there was no room. They were happy to seat us in the restaurant. We said we came for Happy Hour Eats - They said they'd honor that in the restaurant, which I appreciated. I was disappointed in my Lobster Salad Rolls (They were more like dry crab cakes) but my dinner partners liked their tenderloin sliders. The fries were great though."

Our waiter was excellent, had a great sense of humor and made us feel very welcomed. The food from our giant seafood platter appetizers, to salads and entrees was well paced, temperature appropriate and well prepared. Portions were huge. Great wine list too. All in all we had a wonderful and memorable evening."

  • "We made reservations at Capital Grille before a recent Seattle Symphony performance because it is so close to Benaroya Hall. The restaurant was sensitive to our time constraints but never rushed us and the dinner flowed smoothly. The wine list is very nice and our waiter was helpful in steering us toward an excellent Washington wine that paired nicely with our dinner. Steaks are the star here and the kitchen prepares them to perfection. The only problem (?) I found was that the portions are so large that there are bound to be leftovers. We considered having some during intermission at the symphony but wound up stashing them in the car instead. Overall, great food and service in a classy setting."

  • "The only thing bad I have to say was that we were sat 20 mins late for our reservation time even though we arrived 5 mins early. Understandable as it was jammed pack for Valentine's Day on a Friday night. Everything else with our dining experience completely made up for that. Our server Lionel was fantastic. The table was decked out in rose petals, they took our picture and printed it for us in a frame, and handed roses to the ladies as they left with 2 truffles inside a cute little box. The food was phenomenal and delicious as always. The filet mignon and the coconut crème pie are to die for. Will definitely return, but probably only for a special occasion as there is a steep price."
