This rivals most other NYC Steakhouses and does it one better by having an unpretentious staff that seem eager to serve.
You wouldn't know it by the quality of the food or the excellent service, but Capital Grill is actually a chain. I have been to a couple of other locations and they have been high quality, but this one is still the best.
I've been here with a group of 12 corporate associates and on romantic dinners and was impressed each time.

But beware, this is an expensive place and can be overrun with the "expense account" crowd who are always noisy for some reason...must be all that expensive wine they are consuming. We were also closer to the (noisy) bar than on previous occasions and I would ask for a different table in the future.
The wine list is extensive and you can find some reasonable priced (for New York) bottles.
The service is usually better than we experienced this time - it was okay but nothing special vs the price paid for the meal.
Would we use again? Food is positively delicious and unique, and the service is alwas excellent. While I rated the noise level as energetic, there are "two" sides to the restaurant; one being the bar side (energetic) and the other the quieter, romantic, side with a view to the street. The staff are all very supportive of one another, and go out of their way to make you feel special. While on the pricey side, the food, service, ambience, are all worth it. We always have a great dining experience because the service and food are always consistently well done. Our waitress was so sweet. She overheard us celebrating our wedding anniversary and she brought us over two glasses of champagne. She was sweet to our 3yr old daughter and brought her a piece of dessert. We had the perfect evening out celebrating our anniversary. The steaks are always cooked exactly how you request them. The sides are large for sharing and so yummy.
