We were being rushed through lunch and we had not even had a chance to look at the menu. And, though there were many empty tables we were seated at the first booth - closest to the door. And we looked good! Limited selection on this menu but certainly adequate. I have tried numerous steakhouses in the city and was surprised to find that this location of the Capital Grille provided the best service I have had anywhere in the city, with a superb steak and a wine list which included several excellent bottles near a $30 price-point. The porcini rub on the Delmonico steak is to die for and of course, who can forget the unforgettable Lobster mac n cheese. No matter what you choose though the food is devine. Ambiance personified and service was wonderful. They even had confetti on the table for my husband's birthday which I surprised him with along with a card. She took our orders promptly and the four of us enjoyed a small free appy, 3 porterhouse steaks, an order of salmon, 3 sides, and a bottle of wine recommended by Tracie Lee. She gave us free cake and cookies for the birthday girl to go, and we made it for the curtain by 2 minutes. Fastest special dinner ever! Great job by restaurant! The steaks were just a bit overcooked. Appetizers were expensive but outstanding. The main course was not special...it was above average. I had a dried age steak and salmon (which we split).
Main course = 3.5 stars
Lobster bisque soup = 5 stars
Sides = 4 stars
