Capital Grille - MinneapolisGreat dinner on a dietMy wife and I are dieting for weight loss and we were able to have a fantastic meal that was entirely on our plan, and were very encouraged by Scotty our waiter. Green salad, and a 10oz Filet with roasted mushrooms and grilled asparagus. Only ate half of the filet, saved the other half for another meal. For dessert, we had espresso and a bowl of berries, no sugers or sauces. All items were on our plan. That is how you can enjoy a diet plan.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Consistently AmazingWe make a point of dining at Capital Grille for Valentine's dinner every year, but this year we decided to celebrate our anniversary there as well. Everything about the evening was perfect, including the table - semi circle seating with a view out to the entire restaurant. It was perfect for people watching and to experience the energetic pace of the restaurant!
Our waiter was Michael Y and he was FABULOUS!! He was taking care of several large groups, but we never felt neglected and service was impeccable!

After making reservations I phoned to ask if Capital Grille could help me with a special event; a proposal. They stated they had experience with this and noted the details. Our waiter (Dylan) was especially nice and paid attention to every detail. Cocktails were served, wine was opened and our favorite appetizer (Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers) served; everything was excellent! The steaks were cooded to perfection!
The presentation, the quality and most importantly the "taste" of everything was beyond expectations. Food was mouth watering tasty with steaks lobster and steak crabs. Our sever SCOTT was beyond professional friendly that I can even describe. He was so nice and friendly to our 2 yrs old. He cleaned her hand and iPad. We even got her some strawberry for her to contend so we can enjoy the delicious steak and seafood dishes. I love capital grill for the variety and healthy food (at least that is what my mind tells me). Excellent portion size. I was so accustomed to Mannys steak house taste but then 1day I de used to try out capital grill again. Ever since we are hooked. Lol. They has a 3 course meal for $18. The food was superb and the price was very reasonable for what we were served. We were tired of networking by the second day so we skipped the free lunch and returned to the Capital Grill. Tried the scallops the second day. They were good but the steak from the first day was better. The sweet peas and root veggies were excellent. The restaurant was busy (lots of large groups) and it was loud! We had difficulty hearing each other across the table in a small booth. I don't know if that's typical of Capital Grille but it certainly was not romantic. And there were no sporting events in town that night. The food was superb and the service attentive. Because they knew it was our anniversary, our table was scattered with rose petals and we were offered either complimentary champagne or dessert. Love the complimentary valet parking. Lobster Mac & Cheese is to die for. But the best part of the restaurant is the amazing professionalism of the wait staff--we always know we will be well-served. They had a table saved for us that had rose petals sprinkled across it! Everyone we came in contact with wished us a happy anniversary! We got the wedge salad- awesome. They were very generous with the bacon and the dressing was terrific. Then I got sliced filet with a fig sauce and mushrooms. The meat was perfectly cooked and I really enjoyed the sauce. It added a sweetness. My partner got the Filet Oscar whcih she couldn't stop raving about! The restaurant offerd us a glass of champagne or a dessert free in honor of our anniversary. We got the fresh berries and creme bule. Both were outstanding. The service was top notch. The server was excellent. The salads, sides, soup, and of course of steak were wonderful. Definitely a great place for a special occasion. As far as higher end steakhouses it was very fair price as well. A memorable meal and experience we will not soon forget. Friday evening was pleasure and the Capital Grille had all my information correct. They knew my favorite table and that I have "nut" allergies. Just remembering this made me feel at ease enjoying my time there, and the food was incredible, as always. I give them the highest ratings possible. Don't change please!

We went during restaurant week during Feb 2013 and it was some of the best food, service, and experience I've had. Free valet parking, personalized service, and excellent food made it a great night. Our waitress gave us a discount on the wine, and substituted a desert item on the restaurant week menu for me. We started the meal with the lobster and crab cakes. Our server noticed there were 3 of us and suggested due to there being two large crab cakes we could have the chef either make 4 small or we could add a crab cake to make 3 large. We added one and they were fantastic! Our steaks were done perfectly and the dry rubs were flavorful but not over powering.
