Capital Grille - Ft. LauderdaleAlways outstandingOur server Troy went above and beyond to make sure we had an enjoyable dinner for my Aunt's birthday. Food and service were excellent. Although I like higher end wines I was surprised to see choices on the wine list for as little as $30. It is nice to have the option of having the Maine lobster taken out of the shell for you. I was also surprised to hear many of the desserts are made in house, and they must have quite a pastry chef, as we sampled three desserts that were all excellent.6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMDINNER was typical CapitalDINNER was typical Capital Grill. It was an anniversary and I give them HIGH MARKS to make the evening special. The table was decorated, and they said Happy Anniversary multiple times. The men loved their steaks, the taste they said were amazing, but the presentation of a steak solo on a plate, was very unappealing at least to me, a non meat eater. My sister and I had fish, I found it a bit salty, but the crab and lobster cakes as well as the Lobster Mac and cheese were over the top.

to see that if anything it has improved since our last visit. The food was outstanding and service as well.
We were very impressed that even though we had not been for ages our server was someone we knew and we were
treated as though we were regulars. My one complaint of old was that they always kept the comfort level at
Artic conditions. Thankfully as soon as we were seated our server asked if we would like it to be warmer and
immediately adjusted to temperature. The proof that the Capital Grill is a gem for Fort Lauderdale is that it was doing

Upon our arrival, we were warmly greeted by the Hostess, offered a glass of Champagne, and shown to a lovely table adorned with heart confetti and a lovely note from the restaurant. Dinner was just delicious (calamari app, lobster for me, snapper special for my husband, sides of mushrooms & truffle fries (yum), the service exceptional (thanks, Andrea), and though we could barely touch it, we were offered a complimentary piece of their outrageous, flourless chocolate cake...with candles of course...for dessert. However, since I have started to lower how much sodium I consume I was surprised that while the food is still great, I could not handle how salt it was. We went there for a Sunday lunch to finish off our Bachelorette weekend& we were blessed by getting Miguel as a server. He is so amazing! The restaurant decorated our table &left a hard written "Congrats" note, which really made us feel special &touched. He then went on to wow &surprise us throughout the meal from Champagne, desert and beautiful red rose as a parting gift. Our group works either in the Hospitality or Luxury business &we all agreed that Miguel &the experience was by far one of the most touching &wonderful we have had or seen in a while. I hadn't been to a Capital Grille in a while and had forgotten how amazing the steaks tasted! Started with raw oysters which were clean, crisp and delicious and the calamari which were tender, flavorful and cooked to perfection. I ordered the Porterhouse medium rare because I love to get the best of both worlds; tenderloin and strip and it was near perfection. The side of Roasted Cremini, Portabella, Shiitake, Oyster Mushrooms were delicious and a perfect accompaniment to the steak.
