The service is exceptional and our waiter was the best. The great thing about Mothers Day is that they had a full buffet, but you could also order specific meals in addition to going through the line for fresh seafood, salads, etc.

The Mother's Day brunch was exceptional in every way- the food and the service were outstanding! We were in a smaller room off the main dining room (approx. 6 tables) and sheltered from the lively bar scene. Our server was Ilan Bari,l and he was superb. His guidance was especially valuable when it came to the main courses offered. His thorough knowledge of the preparation of the entrees helped us to choose that sauces, etc. should be treated as "sides" so that there were not too many flavors which could overwhelm the meat. He's very knowledgeable re: the wine list as well and correctly directed by husband to a delicious savignon blanc rather than his usual pinot grigio. The only downside is the noise level. My dining partner and I had to lean across the table to hear one another. Maybe it's the hardwood flooring and most every table that was filled with people conversing. Very pricey but delicious. Will go back to try other items on the menu and hopefully find a more quiet time to dine; if, that is possible. This time the shirimp cocktail appetizer was not up to snuff. Instead of 3 very large shrimp we were served 5 medium sized. Flavor was so-so. The bread and the rest of the food was very good but when I got home I felt as though I had a stone in my stomach. This lasted several hours in spite of taking massive amounts of digestive enzymes. I'm thinking it must have been either the bread or the side of mushrooms. The service is simply impeccable (attentive w/o overbearing or smothering) and it is a chain! John our waiter was fantastic, knowledgeable, attentive, but gave us space for a leisurely meal. Great job! Jamil (steward) had wonderful wine suggestions that complemented the meal. The special; porcini rubbed filet with heirloom tomato, buffalo mozzarella and pesto side was expertly prepared and very tasty. Steak just as ordered. Side of creamed corn with bacon, good to go. For dessert, John brought out BOTH creme brulee and strawberries in Grand Marnier for my wife's b-day. Both were exceptional, great flavors, fresh, brulee with perfect carmelized top. The Lobster Benedict with two perfectly cooked eggs, rich Hollandaise and about half a nice sized lobster tail was made to order. The buffet had smoked ham, a well seasoned beef tenderloin and a full array of breakfast treats. The French toast was thick sliced and crusty with just the right amount of custard, served with whipped honey butter and maple syrup. The plump chicken sausages contained a rich combination of sweet spices and apples. The bacon was thick sliced, peppery. There was also a display of lobster tail, very large shrimp. Everything from the presentation, the food quality and taste, the timing, the service; all were exceptional.
It is clear the staff understands the meaning of customer service and its importance. We highly recommend the Capital Grille.
