Capital Grille - Chicago - LombardOutstandingOur waiter, Jason, was awesome. Knowledgeable about the menu options, and well versed on the wine list, which definitely leaves room for options. Overall food was excellent, atmosphere was a little loud when we were seated, but quieted down quickly. Service was quick, and focused on our needs. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is in the Lombard area and looking for a good spot to have a steak, and romantic evening. I had noted that we would be celebrating that occasion when I made my open table reservation. The staff was so accomidating in making it a special eve. There was a card for my son on the table signed by several of the staff waiting for him as we got seated. And then they brought him a beautiful plate for dessert with several mini desserts, berries and happy birthday written across in a sweet glaze. On top of that our server took our picture together and then we were each given a copy of that in a paper frame to take home. So sweet! They put flower petals on the table, had a signed card, gave us a champagne toast, special dessert and gave us a picture to bring home to remember the night.

While the food was great, our waiter Jason made the entire visit a special occasion. If you will be celebrating a birthday you can call the restaurant in advance to choose your desserts for special presentation, or you can order the desserts after enjoying your meal. The table was strewn with flower petals; there was a card signed by several staff members. A delicious amuse bouche of sea bass on puréed sweet potato was sent with the Chef's compliments. A foto of our group was taken and returned printed and mounted in a card. Then a beautifully plated dessert duo w/lit candle arrived, again with Chef's compliments. It was just enough to make a perfect ending to a wonderful meal. Yes, it was expensive. As you will see in your database, either myself or my parents, who live 4 hours away, and often drive just to dine, come as often as possible. In fact we have reserved a private room for 14 people on December 7th and we typically have stayed in the city and dined there, however just had to share with the rest of our family!
