Big huge baked potatoes and a large platter of creamed spinach are fantastic. Unlike other steakhouses that have cut back on the sides these are definitely enough for two. The meal was good, the steak cooked perfectly and our server worked very hard, maybe harder than she should have. More help could have been used at the tables. We sat at a booth across a narrow aisle from a booth where a diner in a chair was positioned. People (customers) had to squeeze sideways to travel between the back of that person in the aisle and our dining surface. Also a patron was having an argument with their spouse and slightly spilled his drink on me while I was sitting in a booth. I did not say anything at the time. However, the manager should be walking around to make sure that does not happen. Friday nights can be tough, I understand. People tend to over do it when trying to unwind. Over all we had a great time though.

An enjoyable, business dinner with great steaks, wine and accompaniments. The calamari appetizer with hot peppers was a twist on the Rhode Island style with banana peppers and quite successful. But the 'crab' and lobster cake need to be rethought. While the lobster in it was sweet and perfectly cooked, the crabmeat was not up to standards and tasted like sawdust. A shame. The food as always was superb. I had the slice filet Mignon with mushroom and my wife had the Sirloin. She loves her steak very rare and the steak was perfect. The chopped Salad and the mash potatoes were great. The best part of the meal was our waiter. Our table was great and our waiter was attentive, very friendly, very helpful on choosing the right item on the menu and a real delight. Sorry I don't remember his name. He even provided a free dessert with a candle for our anniversary. We had an top not waiter who delivered our cocktails shortly after they were orders. We started with the Wagyu Beef Carpaccio with Wasabi Arugula appetizer which was excellent and whetted our appetite for our upcoming steaks. The steaks were cooked as ordered to perfection, mine medium rare and my wife's medium rare. Side dishes and the Spinach Salad With Warm Bacon Dressing complemented our meal. We chose and Italian red wine and our waiter brought it out to decant early so that it would be ready for out meal. She is accommodating, friendly and energetic...so much so that I requested her after having dinner at the restaurant the week before. The food is fantastic...always done exactly as ordered. And this is the best restaurant week going. They offer real menu items with no skimping on size or cuts of meat. And it's a great addition to the lunch scene. I ordered my favorite wedge salad and they were totally willing to add chicken. The chicken was not your typical slices of grilled breast but rather a chicken quarter with the tangiest spice rub. It was out of this world. Every year seems I have to be put on a waiting list for they are already booked. Thought it was time I would give Capital Grille Chestnut Hill a try.
