I know, I know...) and unfortunately, the steak came out about medium. Our waitress reappeared and immediately recognized the problem, whisked the steak away and soon a manager stopped by to apologize.
We were a little embarrassed, after all, it was just a steak, not some giant insult or anything. The greeter asked us if this dinner was for a special occasion (good eye sizing us up). Told her it was a big aniversary, and she asked us to wait one for a minute while our table was prepared. We were very pleasently suprised that they had taken that time to scatter rose petals over the table, and provid complimentary classses of sparkling wine. After we were seated they took a picture of us at the table and provided us a print. Nice touches. The server was excellent - helpful, attententive, and did not rush us a bit. Food was on the whole excellent - exception being my steak was medium well, rather than medium. A wonderful place with awesome food. All of our dishes from the shrimp cocktail to the steaks, potatoes au gratin and lobster mac and cheese were fabulous! Dishes are pricey but worth it and the fine dining experience. Perfect for special ocasions. Dessert was awesome too and the waitstaff friendly and attentive in just the right way. I am very glad I visited. I faced some dining restrictions this week, which my server accommodated with ease.
I started with a green salad, asking them to hold the seasonal vegetables that normally come on it. The dressing had a good bright tang without overwhelming the greens. Next up was my entree, citrus-seared salmon, with tasty green beans--and asparagus. I tried the asparagus, which I never eat. If I liked grassy foods I would have gobbled it up. The salmon was beautifully cooked, tender and moist with a pleasant sear on top.
My dessert, flourless chocolate espresso cake, was wonderful and not overly sweetened.
