  • "This is one of our favorite go to restaurants, but it has been inconsistent with the food preparation."

  • "My wife and I always stayed away from this place since it is in a stripmall and the name sounded off. Finally some friends talked us into it and so glad we went. Food is great and good beer/wine selection."

  • "Cap City in Gahanna is truly the place to dine at. I had a business luncheon and made reservations for 4. On our arrival to Cap City we all were greeted by a pretty smile and were seated. We placed our orders. We did not have to wait long and our orders where on the table. Let me tell you the presentation of our food was outstanding! I have a salad (can't remember the name of the salad) with piece of salmon. Oh my!!! That was the best salad with salmon.. I also had a cup of their seafood gumbo! Wow! So good. We all enjoyed our food and it was an great atmosphere for our business luncheon. I will be coming back to Cap City in Gahanna!"

  • "This is a quintessential experience. that should not be missed. With the open kitchen where you can watch the chefs to the diner feel, it spells fun. Whenever we have guests in town we try to take them here because there is something on the menu for everyone, especially our foreign guests who love to dine here (we always recommend the meatloaf to them). Save room for dessert especially the "Seriously Big Chocolate Cake""

  • "My girlfriend and I were driving and she made reservations on my iPhone app and put the address in the GPS and when it took us to this location I had to laugh as it wasn't where I thought I was going. Right restaurant; wrong location. But, this one just as good as their other one. As we walked through the doors it was a pleasant Surprise from the parking lot of a strip mall setting. Our waiter was awesome. Very personable and fun. The food was great. We will return to BOTH locations. LOL"

  • "1st visit. Extremely good, great value, excellent service. Will definitely be going back. Only one small issue. Both managers, many servers and runners were visiting with one customer during out entire visit. Could have need an ex or current employee or someone higher in the organization, but..... Having staff lean over the wall chatting with this person for over an hour was distracting from our dinner. But....well worth it overall."

  • "Dining out with celiac disease is not always easy. Great gluten free menu-so many options, including gluten free rolls and bread. Food was delicious! Service outstanding. Haven't enjoyed dining out this much in a long time. Thanks for being so knowledgable about gluten free food and the proper way to prepare it! Will be going back soon. Try the roasted vegetable platter, it was yummy!!"

  • "I have been to this and the Olentangy Cap City Diner many times and have never been disappointed. The food and service have always been very good. It is a nice, but not fancy restaurant."

  • "Food, wonderful. Service, great. Noise level, a bummer. Need some acoustic ceiling - or something to tone down the noise! Other than that - loved it!"

  • "Cap City at Stoneridge used to be one of our all-time favorite places! Good food, friendly and prompt service and attention to detail. Now, not so much. When Dain was GM there, it was absolutely fantastic; he made us feel like we were truly missed if we hadn't been in for a while. After he was promoted to Marcellla's Short North, (good for him & them), Cap City fell apart. This past visit was very disappointing. The server was friendly enough, just absent. Appetizer was hardly appetizing, entrees were so-so. And it just took forever and it wasn't overly busy. Very disheartening to say the least."

  • "We dine at cap city almost weekly in Gahanna. We enjoy the food and appreciate a great wait staff. Sometimes we come for happy hour and the bartender takes care of you and the appetizers are great. Cannot go wrong at cap city"

  • "Normally I praise CapCity. Last experience was just ok. Went out for my 1st Anniversary with my hubby <3 =] And it was his second time there, and he was slightly disappointed. We were seated by the bathoom. We ordered an app. which was dry and lacked sauce. Overall I've had better days here. Food was still good, and the experience didn't ruin our night. Will go back only because my good outweighs the bad @ this place."

  • "Tried different entree. Shrimp wrap was just okay and fries were not hot. Wife tried meat loaf for first time and not all that impressed. Calamari was excellent as were the desserts. Overall was a great dining experience and WE probably just need to stick to our favorites but the only way to find favorite foods is to try them . 3 stars for main entrees and all else was a 5 !!"

  • ""Fine dining" is too fancy-pants a term for Cap City, but it is the finest dining at something that labels itself a "diner." The wine/drinks are good, the bar stays busy, the food is delish. The menu includes some gems like the bleu cheese alfredo potato chips appetizer and their signature meatloaf entree."

  • "This has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat in Columbus. My favorite is the Tuesday special - Pot Pie, but the meatloaf is great. It's also gigantic and you could spilt it with a friend (or 2). Make sure you save room for dessert, if you can."

  • "Atmosphere was lively while the wait staff was friendly and helpful with answering the questions that I had. Portion sizes on plates were very oversized (Not sure about "Famous" but they are "Large Plates"). My wife and I split the Greek Salad for our first serving and the entrees were "Cap City Diner Meatloaf" & the "BBQ Short Ribs". The salad arrived about 10 minutes after placing our order, it was good. No more than 5 minutes later our entrees came while still on the first course. The short ribs plate was luke-warm and resembled a roast more than a short rib, they did re-heat my plate. I have been here a couple of times before writing my review. Overall the quality of the food is fair and feel that you can get better value else ware."

  • "Went to CCD due to their gluten free options-it was my wife's bday, she is GF. Had reservations and didn't t have to wait. They were busy, the service was slow. Waitress took our bar order, came back w/ drinks in a fair amount of time, took our dinner order. Food was delivered, but she NEVER returned to ask how everything was, or if we wanted any more drinks. A lot of wasted money there! The manger filled our water, but the waitress never did. (Maybe they don't do that, it is ok,) She returned after a VERY long time, and cleared out plates, Then a VERY long time passed and we got our bills. Another 10 mins. went by and she finally took them. From the time we were done eating and said no dessert, it was abt 30 mins. until we left."

  • "This was our first time visiting this restaurant. We had a large group and split them into two groups for faster seating. Ethan, our waiter, did an excellent job keeping tabs on both tables. The food was excellent, as always for any Cameron Mitchell restaurant we have ever visited. The children loved the warm pretzels and the grownups fought over the last bite of Maytag chips. The NY strip steak was perfect. The pecan crusted pork chops are amazing. Even our pickiest eater loved the meatloaf. They aren't kidding about the seriously big chocolate cake. Oh my goodness. We will be going back soon."

  • "My husband and I, with another couple, celebrated Valentine's Day at Cap City in Gahanna. It was a busy night of course, but the food was exceptional. The waiters were very busy and we had to wait for drinks, but other than that the food came out timely and was great. My husband had the special of Filet medallions with Scallops in a Bournaise sauce. The scallops were surprisingly tender and melted in your mouth. Everyone enjoyed their meals and we had a great time! We even decided to make Cap City a Valentine's Day dinner tradition."

  • "My wife and I love to go to Cap City! My wife tries something different each time we go there and she has never been disappointed! That's why we go there quite often. It's consistently good and the service is always excellent! I would recommend it for any occasion."

  • "We went on Valentine's Day with friends for dinner. Had made our reservation on Open Table! Highly Recommend - we were seated as soon as we arrived. I had the special Valentine's feature - pomegrante martini - it was fabulous and had the twin 3 oz. filet medallians with scallops. They were ok - not anything spectacular. Wish I would have got the salmon. My husband got the crabcakes. He liked them."

  • "This was our first time to Cap City. We ordered the blue cheese Alfredo chips for appetizer and my husband and I split the meatloaf. They were both fantastic. Our waiter was excellent, very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place. My only complaint is that the dinner rolls were very bland. If I were the owners of the restaurant, I would find a ore tasty roll. However, I will definitely try to dine here again even if it is a 2 hr drive for us to get there."

  • "Made reservations through open table. Immediately seated when we arrived. Server was prompt and efficient and very friendly. The food was superb. I highly recommend the romano chicken, the salmon, and the crème brulee. The apple spinach salad was also amazing. Nothing was over seasoned or too salty. We will definitely be going back sometime soon. Really recommend using open table to make reservations. It was so easy and the entire process was stress free."

  • "Had a reservation the day after Valentines Day at 6:00pm for 4. It was so busy with folks waiting for seats there was nowhere to stand. The front of the house is fairly small and the bar was wall to wall with people. They were running behind with reservations, we were eventually taken to our table at 6:20pm. I made a reservation for a reason! We had somewhere else to be after dinner. I could accept this at a lower cost restaurant but when dinners are $20-$25 each, I expect the restaurant be be run efficiently. The food was very good! The service once we were seated was also very good with many staff members hustling to get everyone taken care of quickly. Overall we really enjoyed the dinner just a bit frustrated we had to wait so long."

  • "The food was good. I always get the prok chops and my mom always gets the chicken, but it was her birthday so I dared her to try something new and felt obligated to follow suit. She got the crab stuffed tilapia and I got the meatloaf. Both of us were satisfied. We sat at a table in the back of the restaurant and it was kind of hard to hear each other. It was surprisingly busy for a Monday night though, so I wasn't too concerned about it. It was the first time my girlfriend was meeting my mom though so I'm sure she would've liked things to go differently. My mom is in love with your carrot cake so we came to Cap City specifically so she could get that as her bday cake. You keep serving that cake and you will keep her business."
