Diner Reviews
  • "The food was great....Our server Sherry was well versed in qualities of wines on wine list and was one of the best servers we have had in the Fort Collins Area. The one down side of the evening is that the dining room was too hot. It was 90+ degrees out side but the temperature in the dining room should have been able to handle this temperature elevation. We will be back soon."

  • "My husband and I were pleased with a quiet booth, attentive staff, and incredible food. We enjoyed cocktails, an appetizer, and a great main course. Highly recommend for a special night out."

  • "We visited the Canyon St Chop House for our wedding anniversary, and dine here a few times a year. The food was great and we enjoy how they switch up their menu seasonally. Their menu is a lot more interesting and varied than other fine dining choices downtown (such as Jay's or Sonny Lubick's). Our server was knowledgeable about wine pairings for what we ordered. It was a very pleasant evening and the service was timed just right - not too fast, not too slow. If you have a larger group - ask about reserving the vault room. It's the remaining vault from a bank that used to occupy the building."

  • "The Canyon Chop House is a favorite of ours! We don't seem to get there often... however every time we dine there we wonder why we do not get here more often. The food and service is always first class and top notch."

  • "We love coming to canyon chop house when we want to celebrate Its elegant yet comfortable. Must be prepared to spend some money. I choose the fish special. Unfortunately it was overlooked. Should have stuck to my usual steak. Otherwise food was great and service excellent as usual."

  • "Windows very dirty and very warm to hot in the room where we were seated"
    Dined on 6/20/2014
  • "Between the bartender and the waitress, the service was poor - slow and as if we were an after thought and a bother."

  • "Everything was perfect. If you are a foodie and/or demand perfect steak, this is your place. Food was outstanding. Service was prompt and friendly. Very enjoyable experience!"

  • "Background music at a level to hear it and at the same time hear the people you are dining with. Unusual these days. Interesting and varied menu. It definately competes with the best restaurants in Ft. Collins."

  • "We visited the Chop House again celebrating father's day. The beef appetizer was amazing and flavorful. My husband had been served deep-fried spinach in New Zealand and had been trying to recreate it for many years. The chef was willing to try to make it and it was amazing! We appreciated the chef going the extra mile to make a customer happy. Our wait person, Berkeley, provided great service. Overall, an outstanding dining experience."

  • "Canyon Chop House was first class in all respects. Our group of four had a great time for an evening meal in a great setting. The noise level was low, which added to a very pleasant experience."

  • "My husband and I don't get out that often because we have 4 children, so we try to make it special when we do. We had a great time at the Canyon chop house. We will definitely return and recommend it to our friends."

  • "This is a great place for a nice dinner. Creative and fun menu and the food is always spot on."

  • "We tend to save the Chop House for special occasions but likely will start dining here more often. They've really got all the boxes checked when it comes to a fine dining experience. We particularly think of the Chop House when in the mood for an excellent steak - we have never been disappointed or had to send a steak back to the kitchen. All in all, a very pleasant experience with very friendly and attentive wait staff."

  • "Our entrees were very good! Our server was very attentive!"

  • "Service was mediocre, had to flag the waitress down repeatedly to ask for more wine. She brought the wrong dessert and never checked to see how it was until it was time to pay. The food was bland and disappointing. I used to say, "I've never had a bad meal at the Canyon Chop House", but can no longer say that. I cannot see going back there again. Also, one of the restaurant workers was running around in faded jeans and a tshirt and some sort of headwrap in her hair looking like someone I would expect to be busing tables at the Rio or someplace much more casual. I found it off-putting, and I'm a pretty casual person myself but I expect more at a nice restaurant."

  • "It was quite noisy, not very conducive for a romantic evening. The 4 guys at the table across (bachelor party?) were quite loud. Food was outstanding!"
    Dined on 6/7/2014
  • "I did have to send my ribeye back to have it cooked a little more. I ordered medium but it was quite rare. They were very nice about accepting that!"
    Dined on 6/6/2014
  • "Hands down. Canyon Street is the best in town. Local ingredients. I had the filet done Oscar style. Maryland Blue crab was outstanding. Not an inexpensive place but very reasonable for fine dining in Fort Collins."

  • "We were so excited to go to Canyon Chop House during our recent visit to Fort Collins, Colo. I was less than pleased when we were seated next to a dirty window with a large empty pot filled only with dirt right outside the window. I looked up and the post for the pendant light above our table was very dusty and dirty. It obviously had not been cleaned in some time. The food was good but I would not go back. If there is no cleanliness in what the customer sees from the table one has to wonder about the kitchen."

  • "Neither my wife nor I eat much meat so she opted for the pasta/mushroom dish and I went for the crab cakes. Both were very good; the crabcakes were the best I've ever had. The service was primo. Bentley was very attentive, cordial and made a good recommendation on the Funkwerks ale. The other waiter, Eli, there was a friend of our younger son so it was good to see him and he helped w/ suggestions. I recommend this restaurant and especially for steak lovers."

  • "My girlfriend and I decided to try a new place to celebrate graduation and leaving Fort Collins for new careers. The Canyon Chophouse had friendly and attentive service paired with a menu that was as unique as the design. The layout and design of the restaurant was classy and modern. "

  • "Great first time visit, my wife and I both agreed that we were served some of the best steaks we have had in a while."

  • "Great service and good food. Was there during graduation weekend and they changed the menu -would have been nice to know that in advance as my wife is diabetic. Still good experience. "

  • "I loved my wine, bread, salad, and fillet. We were seated at the last table before the kitchen entry area and bathrooms. The servers were dashing back and forth. There was no relaxed feeling! If this happens again, we will ask to be seated at the next available table or just leave."

  • "I made reservations at Canyon Chop House so that I could propose to my now-fiancé. I called a few days before to ask for assistance from the wait-staff. I wanted the evening to be special and surprising, but still private and personal. The manager, Lisa, was incredibly helpful and eager to help in any way. Our waiter, Dan, was perfect - very attentive but not intrusive. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Lisa even sent over a couple glasses of champagne!"

  • "Arriving in town for Cirque De Soleii, and one slot left on open table. Jumped to it at 715. When arriving after the show, real nice location but right in college town. No worries, school was out. However, it was prom and there was a group of 6 and a few other open slots. No app, but did order some well drinks - after waiting 10 minutes for our water and 5 more for our drinks. The waitress was overwhelmed, but the place is not too big and should be streamlined in logistics. She comes to the table and says, "the kitchen is backed up." I look in disbelief and said please bring another drink. 45 minutes in we got our salad, then our steak 1 hour after that. Horrible service for a 140 ticket. Will never return to this place. "

  • "I usually have a perfect meal at the Chop House, but this time around several menu items were not available--disappointingly, what I went for, too (monster T-bone). "

  • "Having dined at this establishment for years I was appalled at the lack of professionalism, service and quality this visit. The wine list was hit or miss, "sorry we don't have that one" and another and another...Meat was frightfully under cooked pork and bison. The server then took credit card but failed to return the card. I'm still attempting to contact owner. For 200$ plus and get this treatment, I won't return."

  • "Found a long human hair in the food which ruined the entire experience. No big deal to our server. Food is overpriced. Service is okay but everybody but the guy giving us bread seemed to have a bit of an attitude. Will not go back. Also did not like where we were seated both times we were there. "

  • "We enjoy coming here for special occasions. The menu is diverse and always offers different choices than other restaurants. The steaks are wonderful and this time I enjoyed a delicious sea bass special. Arrive early so you can take advantage of the happy hour specials in the bar area!"

Everything was delicious, from the bread to the soup to the entrees, and dessert, which was beautifully served. Dinner was delightful and we all would highly recommend this restaurant."
