Canyon has very good food. No matter what we order, steak, crab cakes, the soups, they are all high quality and enjoyable. On our last two visits, we did find the gap between ordering and food arrival to be too long. It is a nice enough restaurant where you don't want to rushed, so a measured delivery is expected and welcome. But when you begin to furtively look around, wondering when the entree is actually going to arrive, it is too long. We will return because the food is fine, surroundings are nice, and servers are competent, but it would be nice to tighten the order/delivery period some.

The Chop House does not disappoint, it's always a great evening. The staff is friendly and helpful and professional and the food is always good. I do wish the menu would change more, I know their standard items are very good, but change is good.

We very much enjoyed our first time at Canyon Chop House. The service was very prompt and spot on. Our appetizer was delicious and was a serving big enough for 4. The entrees were also deliciously prepared and generous portions. Overall a great evening and we'll be back for dinner and Happy Hour.

Dressing was very "vinegary". Medium request on steak, received rare. Some of the root vegetables were al dente. Gnocchi was a little doughy on the inside and sauce was over salted.

We went for date night and had a wonderful server (Tyler) and food. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the 1/2 rack of ribs. Both excellent!!! Sides also a strong showing. My only suggestion might be to have a more diverse beer selection-- the available choices erred on the safe side. This place is come as you are-- there were a bunch of hunters in the bar post hunt donning tall bison hats. If that doesn't make you feel comfortable and relaxed, I don't know what else does?

Excellent food and the LivingSocial voucher made it affordable for me and my daughter. I do find it extrememly pricey and with each item priced separately, it can really add up. But the food was outstanding; we both had the sirloin steak, asparagus and mushrooms! And the service was very good without being intrusive. It was easy to relax and really enjoy the experience.

Make reservations early, very few spots open on a Friday night. Food was absolutely delicious. Filet was like butter, lamb was perfect. The wild game was amazing. All cooked to perfection. Service was exemplary. We were not rushed through our courses like many restaurants will do. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our meal and the level of service provided.

When we arrived at the restaurant we were seated in the corner table, with the chair backed up to a vent on the floor blowing cold air. The hostess told us if it gets to cold she could put a towel over it. The table was also right next to the hallway that went into the kitchen so there was a lot of traffic that came by the table. The biggest problem was the lighting at that table, the menu was small and neither my husband or myself could read it. This was my birthday dinner and I wasn't getting a good feeling, but my husband asked to move tables and the waiter accommodated us right away. What a relief, the rest of the night went well. I have to say I felt sorry for the next 2 people that were seated at that table, they had to take there phones out and use the flashlight to read the menu. I know restaurants like to make the most out of the square footage, but they should really re-think having a table in that location.

I had the root vegetable gnocchi dish and it was excellent. Have found the food a bit uneven so this was fun to have my meal be so wonderful. I will be back soon. Thank you. Also, asked for a quiet table and got one--no complaints about the noise from my elderly friends who have a hard time hearing. Another plus! Service was great.

Ok.....I do like a leisurely dinner but this evening's experience was way too slow: arrived at 5:40PM, delayed drink order then extended delay before receiving drinks (in the mean time we received our amuse-bouche), after 20' finally received drinks and had to ask to order dinner which occurred at 6:05PM, had to ask for salads which took 20'...really?!?, it's a salad, dinner finally arrived at 6:45PM. Steak at least was cook correctly and tasted good. We do enjoy eating at Canyon but we might have to make a different choice prior to shows at the Lincoln.

For the amount of food it was very pricey. The portions were small (except the steak was a good size). I ordered a $12 glass of wine and got a very minuscule pour (~3.5 ounces). I probably won't go back again unless I have another coupon and not order the wine.

I've been to numerous find dining locations all over Colorado and this place definitely ranks on my top 3 list. Crab cakes were the best I have had by far and the dessert (strawberry cobbler) was amazing to top it all off. The staff there were very respectful, attentive, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was mellow to where me and my girlfriend could talk at a normal voice level as apposed to other restaurants where I found myself yelling sometimes.

online reservations easy, cocktail and wine selection very good, oyster appetizer, 1/2 dozen of the smallest I've ever seen. Salad order not right that took almost 10 minutes to correct. Beef and venison fillets cooked to order, quite tasty and tender. Fourth time here and not sure I would return. Wait staff makes the rating drop to 3.5 stars

We live on the border of Wyoming and Colorado off of Red Mountain Road...so needless to say, we do not eat out often anymore. We do appreciate food where the Chef isn't afraid of "offending" a vegan, etc. Loved the venison and quail (maybe top it with a fried quail egg for a bigger bang ;) We appreciated that the Chef has obviously put some thought into great meat, sauces (must make his/her own stock-?) My husband and I have probably been to every restaurant from Loveland to F.C. that offers good cuts of meat and we both agreed that your restaurant is the best find in the 21 years of living in Fort Collins. We've read reviews, but never got around to trying until now...we'll be taking our friends, customers, etc. here from now on!

Food was for the most part excellent...Service was outstanding, attentive and knowledgeable. They team service the table so we were always being taken care of. It is attentive but not intrusive. We had 4 people look after us during our experience. Had the filet and crab cake entrees and they were delicious. my wife felt the fries were not remarkable, but overall the mushroom side over the steak made up for everything! Their home made onion rings that are very thin cut are great in addition to the house Caesar salad. We look forward to our next visit!

The first time I went there the meat was outstanding. You could cut the venison with a fork and the flavors that went with it were amazing. The second time, it was just ok, not spectacular. Sadly, the third time the venison was so tough I couldn't eat it and my husband's crab cakes were tasteless. I'm not so sure we will go again but it is definitely worth a visit.

We had a reservation and we seated immediately. The ambiance and decor was very nice. The service was very good, however, I would still have a bite of food in my mouth and they would be already clearing my freshly empty plate. That being said, we were never rushed, it was a nice evening and the waitress was helpful explaining the menu and helping with recommendations. I had the ribs, which were good, but not excellent, but my wife loved her duck. The duck, however, was oddly served with a pork tamale, which we both thought was an strange mix. Overall, this is a great place for a special meal, celebration, or romantic night. The location is great too.

We have been to the Canyon Chop House many years ago and thought it had closed. The restaurant came up a couple of weeks ago and we decided to give it a try again. First, the things we didn't like: the hostess who greeted and sat us was very grumpy, not a smile on her face. The first table she took us to was one of the worst locations, next to the area where the wait staff brought out the food. We ended up sitting next to the walk way where they take the dirty dishes. Now to the better stuff: menu had great selection of steaks, seafood & poultry. We had the crab cakes and they were fabulous. I had the sorbet trio for dessert. It was a great way to end a meal. I would go there again.

It was, indeed, a pleasure to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary at the Canyon Chop House. We were waxing nostalgic with our return to Fort Collins after graduating from CSU in 1969/1971. How great to discover that surging population growth has not diminished the friendliness and personal attention that was always a hallmark in this city. Our server definitely went the extra mile to locate a bottle of sparkling pear juice for our dinner. I had requested something nonalcoholic and she provided it, serving with the same flair as a bottle of expensive champagne. Our meal was delicious and the evening was perfect!
