We have enjoyed the brunch many times with different friends and have recommended it to several others. The atmosphere is upscale and comfortable. The service is excellent. We never ran out of mimosas. The meats were broiled to perfection as was the fish with several to choose from in both categories. We all started the brunch with their outstanding smoked salmon and incredibly things kept getting better. We expect to return many more times.

  • Brunch: Big Selection Bigger Price

Had to ask a waitress that was not ours to find our waitress 3 times. Our waitress never explained anything about the process even though all four of us had never been there before; never asked if we would like coffee; ran out of orange juice for the Mimosas twice and never came back until we sought her out. There is an immense selection of food but none of it was noteworthy and, in fact, the shrimp was tasteless. Also, we were charged the regular price rather than the Open Table price but it took so long to get the check that we were running late and had no time to dispute it. We had read in prior reviews that this had happened to others.

We had a party of 10 and everyone enjoyed the stay! Buffet was great! Only thing is...we saw the price for the buffet for $30 on the website that books the buffet table for you, so they did honor the price but they shouldn't allow Open Table to book their tables if they don't want to run into the price difference for the customer at payment time. Not fair to the customers if they can't accommodate with the $30 price. The manager said buffet price was now $42.

We have brunched all over Phoenix at all the apparently distinguished venues and resorts. We view an unfortunate decline in the quality of an expected elaborate spread. However, based on an recommendation of a colleague at American Express, we were delighted that we have found a superior Sunday brunch at Loews, served with outstanding hot/cold variety, superior service, breathtaking environs, all at an exceptionally moderate price. I highly recommend a stay at the resort as well.

I attend the brunch a few times a year and have been doing so for many years. This was perhaps my worst experience. I set that bar high for the brunch and was disappointed. I could only rate the brunch as fair based on past experiences. I am hoping that the next time I attend the brunch things will have improved.

This place always hits the mark; from the vast slection and presentation of food (shrimp, cheeses, omelettes, grilled meats, vegetables & fish, and the dessert selection) If you can't enjoy the food here, you don't like to eat. It also includes all the champagne and craft beer you can legally consume. Our server, Danelle, was top shelf with great prompt, friendly and attentive service.

We did not realize when we made our reservations through Open Table that we would be placed outside in 95+ degree weather. Our waitress said those that book earliest get the inside seating. This information should definitely be included in the reservation process so one is given the option when the reservation is made. If we had known, we would have changed our reservation to a different weekend. I was amazed that the hotel doesn't have a misting system. The food and service were great, as usual, but the heat definitely made it a negative experience.

  • GOOD FOR MOTHER'S DAY
    Gizmogator
    Dined on 5/11/2014
The Canyon Cafe had its usual very good choices for an all-you-can-eat brunch, and several more choices for that once-a-year meal...Mother's Day. Great scenery and service as well. This annual brunch is a victim of its own success. The seating area seemed to triple in size, and the food displays were necessarily spread out to accomodate the larger crowd. It was somtimes an effort to get to and from one's table. At $75.00 per person-and that includes taxes and tip-I expected the food to be outstanding. There were some very good offerings, but for the price, we felt it was not worth it My advice? Come here on any other Sunday than Mother's Day.

Even though it was Easter Sunday, you were greeted and served as if you were the only people in the restaurant. I know it was planning but how the brunch was laid out was that as you waited you were around the massive dessert tables. So you knew what awaited you at the end of your meal. it was also nice that the Head Chef spend time at our table.

We can no longer come for dinner and dancing like we used to as we now have a little 15-month old daughter but during the day is wonderful--very relaxing and enjoyable. Thanks for an incredible time.

The service was flawless. The choice of food options was fantastic. Unfortunately I have very high standards for the food, and in too many instances it was marginal at best. The paella was terribly overcooked, the cornbread bread pudding was dry, the crab was flavorless and watery. The dessert bar was excellent though. I didn't think that the whole event justified the cost. I could have a great meal at a good restraurant, where all of the options were excellent, for the same price.

Disappointingly, this brunch tradition on Sundays has been going down in quality year after year. The process seems to have accelerated comparing this year to last. New management cost cutting approaches yet keeping the same price is only going to hurt and reduce attendance. The same price will not bring new clientele and going down on quality will drive away those who were used to a better standard as was the case few years ago.
