  • "Lots of great choices on the menu & they're all good. Service was excellent. The Mexican Brownie for dessert was great, but beware, it's big enough for two."

  • "We brought our 15-year old and all three of us loved the food. We had the table-top guacamole (must-have). My chicken enchiladas were so good, I ate every bite! I substituted the regular rice with the cilantro rice which was a special and it was fantastic! The boys had chicken fajitas and steak tacos, and loved both too. The drinks were good too - I always appreciate when Mexican restaurants carry "skinny" versions of margaritas given how many calories they have. If you've got a craving for wonderful Mexican food, this is the place to go!"

  • "Enjoyed the atmosphere, really tasty meal and great Margarita! Especially enjoyed the grilled chicken bl. bean salad (huge)! Will definitely dine there again!"

  • "Great service, amazing food, and fabulous drinks! Great for a special occasion or just a night out."

  • "The menu is good, the look is good, the vibe, fine - but food mediocre. Obviously not chef-driven, appears to me preparing by rote with "chefs on staff." Was better than most chains, but now not really."

  • "We love the specialty margaritas and fresh made guacamole! This place is always a nice alternative to your typical Mexican food."

  • "Our group of three met at Cantina Larado for some drinks and dinner before the 8:00 curtain call of "Sister Act". The service was efficient and friendly, and we never felt rushed. The wait staff was helpful describing cocktails, appetizers and entrees. The drinks were tasty ( and potent), and the chips, salsa, Queso and entrees were excellent. This was my second visit and will definitely return just to try another entree. This is a downtown location but the garage parking was free. Thanks for adding to our enjoyable evening with friends. Mary"

  • "Having moved away from Nashville for a new job, one of the places I had to visit on a trip back was Catina Laredo! They have the best guac and margaritas! Dining here is fun and interesting but is still very affordable!"

  • "Great upscale Mexican with a twist of fresh inspired dishes. Great service. Only comment is that if you are a group, we were 11, the restaurant could not seat us together. It appears they could have put a couple of tables together but instead placed us in back to back booths. Otherwise great place."

  • "My party of 8 was set as a reservation, so we walked in and immediately were seated. Our server Shawn (or Sean?) was fantastic! He had drink AND food recommendations, remembered all our orders perfectly, was gregarious and prompt, even on a busy Saturday night. The food was AMAZING. AMAZING. As a diehard Texas transplant, I'm generally a little disappointed with most Mexican restaurants around here, but from the warm salsa (not picante sauce, thank you!!) to the delicious fajitas and carnitas... My entire party was stuffed full with not one disappointed meal. And the desserts... Tres leches and flan are not always hits, but these were phenomenal! We ordered one of each of the desserts to split, and they were all excellent. I will return!!!"

  • "Our waitress (I can't rememeber her name) was super friendly and sweet. We really enjoyed her genuine, happy demeanor, knowledge of the menu and honest recommendations of food and drinks. It was a first time visit for a few of us, including myself, and my birthday so I really appreciated her fun energy :)"

  • "Our server was not good, at all. She was sooo slow. I know other people have had this problem If you're in a hurry, not the place to go. Food is great."

  • "You can get fresher Mexican food at Chipotle. I found the soup and tacos bland. I think people come here for the margaritas."

  • "My husband and I have dined here in the past. Always a great experience. Our server was extremely knowledgable and suggested different menu items for us to try. From the Casa Rita to the sizzling apple dessert, everything was excellent!"

  • "Slow and / or absent -- the food that arrived was bland and not up to par. Hopefully just a bad night for the kitchen -- and for the bar ?"

  • "This was our first visit to Cantina Laredo. I thought it would be nice to try a new spot while on our way to a concert. We were impressed by the ambiance the moment we walked in the door. The ambiance was great, and the wait staff was friendly and attentive but not obtrusive. The food was fantastic....best mole sauce I've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and can't wait to try it again."

  • "The food at Cantina Laredo is great, the lighting and noise level, not so much. The made to order guac is the best and the sea bass itself was outstanding. Good thing because it is the most expensive Mexican restaurant I have ever been to. Did not ask the price of the sea bass but I should have - $30 for a piece of fish on rice with overcooked asparagus...wow. It will be a long time before I head back there except for a drink and guac."

  • "I enjoyed our dinner, but it was nothing special. We avoided the drink menu because the prices were very high. Our server was very attentive and helpful."

  • "We had a party of 6 and the dinner was GREAT! They sang Happy Birthday to our birthday boy and we had a great evening."

  • "We ate here this week. I wanted it to be good. It was our third time. But you can tell just by walking in that there are better places for Mexican food. Three fourths of the customers were in the bar. The dining area was sparsely seated. A smile from the hostess would have been nice. An explanation of the specials from the waiter would have been nice. A margarita that was not overpriced would have been nice. Strips of fajita steak, not chopped beef, would have been nice. Maybe next time. There probably will not be a next time."

  • "Cantina Laredo is not your typical Mexican restaurant. From the Chilean Sea Bass with rice and grilled asparagus to the Mexican apple pie with cinnamon ice cream and butter brandy reduction sauce, the food was perfect. The service was attentive without being overly solicitous. Great experience."

  • "All was good except the waiter spilling a glass of tea on one of the members of the group."

  • "Where to start? With the uncomfortable cracked vynle seat? The drink selection was good, too bad it took so long to have one brought to the table. The empanadas were too doughy. The "fresh" tomatoes served on the tacos included the stems. The beans served as a side dish were straight out of the can--they weren't even warm. The rice had no flavor. The beef was overlooked and tough as shoe leather. At least the valet parking was free."

  • "This is a must stop for some "upscale" Mexican food. The ambiance is great with TVs showing sport events in the casual bar scene. The main restaurant is upscale with wood paneling, leather booths, and carpeting. Table side guacamole preparation and upgraded standard Mexican food offerings. I will certainly be back the next imd in Nashville."

  • "Waiter was very attentive to my large party. Only problem was hard to find when time to pay the bill."

  • "Excellent Mexican dishes and guacamole appetizer chip dip prepared fresh at table side which is outstanding.Very reasonable pricing and an out of this world dessert is Mexican apple pie with cinnamon ice cream scoop to a sizzling topping that is again applied table side. Unique and plate licking good!"

  • "Very solid gourmet Mexican in the Gulch. Great vibe and food. Also has a nice high end tequila selection. We read some not-so-great reviews elsewhere and glad we were not deterred. If you're expecting to come in and order your basic "combination" meal, this is not your place. You can expect well prepared, flavorful, authentic dishes. Mole enchiladas, avocado and artichoke enchiladas and quac were all tasty. Complimentary valet parking. Station Inn just a few steps away. A fun evening. Service was friendly, but could be more knowledgeable."

  • "Perhaps a little over priced, but the food is great, great service and a very cozy atmosphere!"

  • "The only complaint I have about the entire restaurant is the height of the booth tables. They are extremely high. I felt like a kid sitting at the "big" table without a booster seat. My friends and I felt like our plates were under our chins. I have one friend that I know would not be able to sit in one of your booths. Please either raise the seats or lower the tables. My two cents."

  • "Two of us ordered the fish tacos, one had to be sent back because it was cold which wasn't a big deal but the portion sizes were quite small more like an appetizer. Service was great."

  • "The Cantina Laredo did not disapoint with original dishes that tasted chef prepared. Nice service, didn't really need the large screen playing basket ball game directly behind our table, kind of becomes a distraction since no one was interested in the game. One note, I had called ahead to let them know we were celebrating out daughters's 18th birthday, no one ever acknowledged this important outing."

  • "Although the food is pretty good, if bad customer service is okay with you, then you may be okay with this place. We arrived about 15 minutes early and were told we could not be seated until our reservation time. We looked around the restaurant and there were at least a dozen empty tables. We sat down about 20 feet from the hostess stand......after our 15 minute wait and still the gobs of empty tables....I went to the stand. Tatiana, the hostess said "oh...I have been paging you"....well.....I was holding the pager the entire time and it never went off AND we were sitting 20 feet from her. Really? Thank goodness our actual server was so good or else this place would get a 1 star on Service. The food did not over compensate for service."
