After meeting for 3 years at a local country club we chose to pick a new place every month. Canteen happen to be our first choice. As some of did brave the terrible weather we differently thought it was worth it.All of enjoyed our meal. Chelsea was a very informative waitess and was a excellent representative for the restaurant . Over all the service was excellent.
The only negative thing I can say is the noise was extremely loud. We could barely here ourselves. Because of the size of our party we were put in the back. Appetizers were great - really loved the smoky corn fritters. Crunchy and delicious and not at all oily or greasy. Duck entree was out of this world. Dessert was disappointing. Bread pudding was dry and tasteless. It needed some whipped cream or ice cream. Would definitely go back! The food has been consistently excellent. The plating is outstanding. the service is attentive but not overbearing. Apparently lunch is not served on weekends so we ordered from the brunch menu. The food was great, service fantastic and the atmosphere was nice. I was just confused by the specific menus and when they were served. It's a good idea to check out the menu "times" if you are looking for something specific.
