Canonitaalways goodWe dine here at least once every time we go to Vegas. This time we started with the duck empanadas, which were amazing. For dinner, I had the Santa Rosa barbacoa, which was a large portion of tender and flavorful pork served with cilantro rice, black beans, and corn tortillas. My husband had a delicious chicken burrito. Margaritas are fantastic. Service is generally friendly but not exactly prompt.6/5/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic take on MexicanThe menu was loaded with items we all wanted to dig into. Four of us ordered different plates, and all of us insisted our's was the best. How often does that happen? Same with drinks, the sangria was perfect, and the Pineapple Infusion tequila drink I could have lost my mind on. For the quality of food, and the fact that it's on the Strip on the canal in Venetian, it's just hard to beat for the money. If you want to break away from the flood of steak/seafood and asian themed restaurants in the area, you have to give this place a go.5/22/2013 12:00:00 AMI picked this restaurant toI picked this restaurant to celebrate my birthday while in Vegas. Our waiter Jesus was OUTSTANDING. We had a mixed group of Spanish speaking people and we had so much fun with him.
Service was great.
And the food was just as good!!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMVery ImpressedMargarita's are GREAT and the food is right up there too!5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, ok serviceWe arrive and were told we were early and that we'd be called when our table was ready. 15 mins after our reservation time I checked on our status and was told our table was being cleared. 5 mins after that I was told they were waiting for our table to pay and leave. They eventually set up a table for us in the entranceway (I believe they forgot about us).
After that things did turn around. The hostess was very apologetic and brought chips & salsa to the table immediately. The food really was wonderful. Authentic, tasty and well worth the wait. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of food, especially given the reasonable price! We wished for a better table/view but otherwise it was a great meal.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMCanonita was a very nice MexicanCanonita was a very nice Mexican place in Las Vegas. I don't really under stand why the chips and salsa are not free. The food, and the atmosphere were great. Our waiter was Mario when he,did come around he was cool. And thanks for the piece of birthday cake for my wife's birthday that, made her very happy.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMscenic view is an understatementscenic view is an understatement !!!! probably the best view on the canal the service was great and the food was good. Oaxacan food is very colorful and flavorful.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMCanonita is perfectly positionedCanonita is perfectly positioned overlooking the canal at Venetian. Their food and drinks are a few steps up from your typical full service Mexican restaurant. My entire party enjoyed the atmosphere, food, and service.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDon't skip the margaritasEveryone in our party really enjoyed the food! Margarita's were also very good. Nice location in the Venetian. Our server Daniel did and excellent job.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFantastic food (I had theFantastic food (I had the Barbacoa) - Service was fast, friendly and the ambiance is great (Palazzo shops right at the end of the Gondola canal). Definitely would come again.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and fabulous margaritas!Great food and fabulous margaritas! Service was slow and unattentive but the company made up for it! Seems like with as many people they had to serve, they couldn't keep up with it. But overall great scene next to gondolas and I keep going back for the food and drinks every Vegas trip!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting Mexican food menu.Interesting Mexican food menu. Great food. Location along Venetian canal lively but loud.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMReally good food. The staffReally good food. The staff is very friendly and helpful in explaining the menu. The Barbacoa pork was outstanding3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMMexican food rich in flavor! My husband and I used Open Table to find this little gem of a Restaurant.
Our original plans for the evening were to attend a show. Sadly we had to
leave the show due to it not being what we had thought it would be.
Our evening turned out to be amazing! The food is fresh and full of flavor.
The service is excellent!
The location of the restaurant is perfect. We enjoyed watching the
gondolas as the passed by our table and of course listening to the
romantic music.
We will most definitely return!3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and ambienceGreat food and fabulous service. Enjoy the singing gondoliers - ask for a seat "outside".3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat margarita's. Must getGreat margarita's. Must get the guacomole, it is fresh and appropriately spiced. The kitchen was low on brining corn bread but they more than made up for it by providing a tamale, and free desert. They know how to take care of thier customers.3/20/2013 12:00:00 AMGood food and atmosphereWe got seated promptly by the canal for a great view. Host was very good and knowledgeable. The pan roasted mussels were terrific! Excellent margaritas too. Service was quick. No complaints at all.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mexican/SW foodFirst, I marked this as "Great for Outdoor Dining" but it's not really outdoors. It sits on the Grand Canal in the Venetian Hotel. So it's kind of a fake outside but it is pretty and you get to hear the gondoliers going by sing opera which seems kind of strange with SW/Mexican food.
We started with an excellent guacamole and chips and then my bride had the pork tenderloin while I had the Mexican bbq pork. Both were outstanding. If anything there was too much food as we skipped dessert and just had a second of their excellent margaritas. Service was superb and we enjoyed our meal.2/15/2013 12:00:00 AM
