Another first rate meal at Canoe -- with perfect service. Canoe always provides an outstanding dining experience on all relevant fronts -- from the greeters in front to the valet on leaving. The menu changes seasonally and the kitchen always has tempting specials. All meals are great, but this has to be the best brunch in Atlanta. The brunch experience is always wonderful -- the daylight view of the river-side setting is lovely and the food and drinks are excellent. (The baked goods at brunch are a must -- as is the crab soup.) The brunch menu features eggs and other brunch traditional items, but also always features non-brunchy items too. If I could think of a criticism of Canoe, I would offer it, but the fact is that they do everything right -- all the time.

Excellent service, attention to detail, but without too many distracting 'table visits.' Our waitress knew us from out last visit, was extremely pleasant, and knew the detail of plates that were 'off menu.' One item...we would have preferred slower service. We bought a bottle of wine and really needed time to enjoy it. But, at the same time we did not feel rushed. Great place to eat, especially on long summer and autumn evening on the Chatahoochee River...

Attentive service, pretty setting. However, each course was brought much to quickly resulting in a very rushed experience. Scallop appetizer excellent, Monk fish entrée good although accompaniments very skimpy.

I can't say enough great things about our experience at Canoe. We made our reservations online. From the moment we pulled in the parking lot we were treated 1st class. Service was off the charts. The waiter was outstanding. The food was amazing. My wife and I do not get to go out much due to having an autistic son. Having a nice quiet dinner at Canoe was just what we needed.

I had heard of Canoe and it had been recommended to me in the past. It was our 27th anniversary so we decided to try after my boss dined there the first time and raved about it. It was a top level dining experience! While very busy on a Sunday night we were seated promptly in line with our reservation. The host and wait staff were energetic and charming and provided great suggestions with enough detail to help make a decision. We started with a smoked salmon on crispy potato cake appetizer that was out of this world. I would have been happy with that. My wife had a beat salad and the fish special that she was very pleased with. I had the rabbit which I had never tried before. I am not an expert on rabbit. It was good and the ravioli that was served with it was outstanding. To cap of the dinner our server recommended the popcorn sundae with a glass of sherry. It was out of this world. It can be an expensive meal but I had no issue paying a bit of a premium for such a fine dining experience

Canoe used to be one of our favorite special occasion restaurants. Not so much anymore! We were seated in the booths by the kitchen. It's so noisy there that you can't hear yourself talk across a table. We requested somewhere quieter so they moved us to the other end which was a little quieter, however still very noisy with all the food being plated, etc. We ordered the Crab Cake appetizer which was excellent and the Calamari. The calamari was fried in a "fast food" tasting batter and was not particularly good. I ordered scallops for my entree. Somehow with all the noise, I missed the part of the server saying "bay scallops" (who serves bay scallops in an upscale restaurant?) I would have loved to have had a photo of the expression on my face when my plate came. It was literally a child-size plate with ten or so fried scallops - tempura battered...missed that too in the description - served with an "apple and cauliflower salad"...all three not so tasty tablespoons of it, plus a schmear of some kind of coconut sauce that wasn't good. They were very kind to take it back. I then ordered the smoked shrimp and pasta. My husband's quail was quite good, but portions were skimpy. The highlight was the dessert: German Chocolate Cheesecake. HEAVEN!!

I made reservations for 6 people at 6pm on a Saturday, November 22. It was a special occasion and the couple who were celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary and his 74th birthday specifically chose Canoe as the place where they most wanted to enjoy their milestone event. The staff at Canoe blew us away with their acknowledgment of the event. I was very pleased by the continuous effort to make the couple feel special. After dinner, the chef treated us to delicious anniversary and birthday desserts for the couple with messages written on the plates in chocolate syrup. A sincere thank you to Sally and Jerry for making the evening PERFECT!

This resturant was top on most reviews so I decided to give it a try. The service was excellent. The waiting staff really excels in all aspects. Our waitress recommended an excellent wine selection. I thought the food could have been a little better but it was good and presented well. The ambiance wasn't what I thought it would be. It was quite noisy and chilly in our section. Other patrons were also complaining of the cold, especially near the windows. The valet service for pickup needs a little organization. Overall I would recommend but personally I would try another place and scratch this one off my list of resturants attended.

with Canoe I expected excellence based on the previous reviews - but when all was said and done felt it was just above average relative to the check amount. they may have been overwhelmed by a large party that night (maybe 40-50 people) - but why must 'small party' patrons suffer? ambiance and table were very nice -but our server would occasionally hand off to another who would drop by with slightly confusing questions ("shall I bring another glass of wine?" when the first was just a taste); forgot our order; and served the appetizer without cutlery in place. at the end of the night it took 10 minutes to get our car which was parked 10 feet from the front door (we were forced to valet). much too much frustration for a romantic dinner...

I've been several times over the years and enjoyed Canoe. Went with a client recently on a Tuesday evening and the place was unexpectedly loud and raucous. I don't recall this being the case before. Food was very good but service was a bit obtrusive. I appreciate attentive but don't want constant interruptions during conversation. What difference does it make whether I've been to the place before? Please stop asking that question.

2nd time here in 3 years and it was a home run. The menu is fun and full of non-common items, esp the entree proteins. I'm tired of the regular old steak, prime rib, fish dishes. Give me some options and we ended up with the quail and rabbit. Both amazing. Overall the service was great and the food and drinks were to die for. I never feel bad at all dropping money here. I can't ever say that about a lot of fine dinning places around Atlanta though. Plus the prices here are almost all under 30 a plate but the actual food is worth way more.

I brought my mom here for her birthday - she loves brunch MN! Honestly it was some of the best food and service I have had in the Atlanta area, and although the prices are on the mid-to-high end, I definitely think it's worth it, especially for a special occasion. The ambience is lovely and it is right on the Chattahoochee river so the view is also lovely.

We had a party of 6 for a Birthday brunch. One of the party was a 1 year old child. We had a great table with an excellent view of the river. Our servers name was Jamal and he was incredibly friendly and provided great service. We were disappointed in the sticky buns as they seemed overcooked (too crispy) and a bit thin. Most of us had eggs of some sort but they were delivered warm at best and cooled quickly. Perhaps the plates were cool before putting food on them. That said I would definitely eat there again and certainly try the egg dishes for brunch. Not sure if I would go for the highly recommended sticky buns.

Food was ordered and brought out in a timely way. The waiter (Evan) was more than complimentary. The menu was great, everything on it is delicious. I ordered the Rabbit, it was so good. We went to Canoe for my girlfriend's birthday dinner. The atmosphere was nice, and our service was excellent. Our server did a great explaining the menu and answering our questions. Dined on 11/3/2014
On the evening of Monday November 3rd, 2014, I treated my girlfriend to a lovely dinner at Canoe. I had only read reviews online about the restaurant, and actually found the blog from a search I entered titled "romantic restaurants near Sandy Springs." After a long winding drive through the backside of Buckhead, we finally found the restaurant tucked away in a little shopping center that. We took the offered valet service, as though there was another option to parking there, and walked inside. The restaurant was booming for a Monday night. We had a wonderful server, Evan I believe, and the food was amazing. We were shocked at the end of the meal with a three dish dessert that will never be forgotten. All in All 5 stars for Canoe.
