Canalettogreat food. good ambiance.There hasn't been a visit to Las Vegas without a meal at Canaletto. I remember before the hustle and bustle of the courtyard was a big attraction and the gelato stand was installed. The courtyard was romantic. Now, it feels "touristy". Then again, the restaurant is in a main shopping thoroughfare. Still, I prefer the patio seating. It still feels warm and welcoming. The food is amazing, no qualms about it. The spaghettini all' arrogosta with lobster in a cream sauce is unparalleled. The staff is always pleasant and willing to suggest a wine pairing or dessert.
Like I mentioned, I've never skipped Canaletto during a holiday in LV, and I never will. as before when we have been to Canaletto my wife asked for a dish that wasn't exactly on the menu and the answer was - "of course we can do that". We have dined at several of the other Italian restaurants in the Venetian Palazzo complex and they are all a little different. Canaletto is a little less formal than some of the others but that was just fine with us. There were four in our party and we all tried different items. The risotto with shrimp was over the top good as was the beet salad. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Our server was from Sicily and explained the menu and specials throughly and his knowledge and service made our dining experience even better. We sat inside but many of the diners chose to dine in the front open area which is on the plaza square, just like in Italy.
