Diner Reviews
  • "We ate dinner here at around 9:30pm, after a show at the Venetian. We were late, and unfortunately missed our reservation, so we had an inside table instead of being out on the "square". Our service was great, and the food was surprisingly good. We each ordered a different pasta dish and I had the pear ravioli, which was excellent. I make homemade pasta and this had that delicate quality of fresh pasta. I would highly recommend this if you are in Las Vegas and dining at the Venetian."

  • "My husband and I dined here for our anniversary weekend. The food was delicious, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was breathtaking. Dining while watching the gondola rides and listening to Italian music was such a wonderful experience. Thank you Canaletto for an amazing anniversary dinner!"

  • "Ate here 2 nights ago. Food so bad that we didn't pay. Manager very apologetic and voided bill"

  • "And here's why: 1) With confirmed reservation, the "Greeter" gave us a look like we were lying because she couldn't find the reservation at first glance. 2) We were then assigned to a table that was already taken. 3) When the "Manager Type" gentlemen proceeded to bring us to the table and found it to be already taken, he verbally scolded the "Greeter". 4) Waiter brought bread to the table, took our drink order and forgot about us. Had to ask for water while waiting for our drinks, then he returned and asked us if we wanted something to drink again?! (Blamed it on the bar being backed up?!?) 5) In the middle of eating soup/salad, our entrees were presented to us. 6) Quality of food could be compared to a fine dining SHONEY's!!!!! TERRIBLE.."

  • "The service and entrees are excellent. Our party of 8 was seated immediately. Extensive wine menu. The atmosphere is very enjoyable. Great choice for a romantic dinner for two or a dinner with the kids. This is a regular stop when we are in town."

  • "We have dined here a few times in the past and it was always crowded. I was surprised to see empty tables on a Friday night. My risotto was tasty and the wife's pizza was good also. We enjoyed the people watching from the "patio""

  • "Solid Italian food. This is one of our regular lunch spots whenever we vacation in LV. Tried it for dinner for a change this past week and was not disappointed. Eat "outdoors" - the St Mark's Square ambience is great."

  • "We had dinner at Canaletto our last night in Las Vegas. The ambience iinside the little restaurant is very romantic. There is an area for "outside" dining, but it really isn't outdoors as you are in a hotel. The menu is wonderful with many, many dishes I would have tried. Our food and service was outstanding and our waiter was attentive but not hovering. We will return to Canaletto on our next visit to Vegas."

  • "From the time we walked in the restaurant we had along wait. The staff were rud. And even in their speaking tougn called us Yankees. They must have forgotten where they were. Very rud. The food didn't have any flavor and over priced. Olive Garden is must better for the money. And I'm proud to be a Yankee."

  • "Canaletto in the St. Marks Square area of The Venetian Las Vegas was an outstanding gastronomic experience. I did not expect to be as pleased as I was with a Chinook Salmon dinner and pesto sauce, baby Yukon Gold potato wedges, broccolini and baby carrots. The freshly prepared tiramisu accompanied by a caffe latte for dessert were the proverbial maraschino cherry atop the ice cream sundae at the tail end of the meal. Add to this the professionalism and attentiveness of the waiter overseeing this meal, which was also unexpected, made this meal a cut above."

  • "I wanted to find a romantic setting to enjoy a memorable valentines day dinner with my wife as it was our first trip to Vegas and one I had booked as a surprise for her 50th Birthday. We were not disappointed by the amazing setting that the Canaletto occupies within the Venician hotel. The booking system worked well and on arrival we were shown to our table immediately. The waiter was very attentive and personable. The menu offered a wide variety of staple Italian dishes and a number of interesting dishes we had not tried before. The wine list was comprehensive / good value for money, with help from the waiter we savoured a lovely prosecco. The food arrived quickly but we did not feel rushed and thoroughly enjoyed the dinning experience."

  • "I know it's in one of the most expensive hotels in Las Vegas, but the food was still overpriced. $18 for a personal pizza? It was delicious, but still a bit much. I ordered the cannelloni, and it was less than excellent. Worst of all is the "ambiance" of the restaurant. It's designed to look like a nice Venetian cafe on the plaza, but it fails in it's attempts. The inside was dark and the outside was very cheesy. It sounded like we were at an indoor pool from all the noise."

  • "We always come here when we visit Vegas the food is very good service is always great and we really enjoy sitting outside on the "patio" with the view of the Venetian décor giving you the feeling of being in Italy!!"

  • "I went to great lengths to find a nice Italian restaurant. I reviewed the menu online, which was not current as the main entree I had hoped to order was no longer served. The entree they did have was the monk fish, which I ordered. It was brought out by a server and I never saw our waitress again until the meal was pretty much over. It was raw inside and they took it off my bill but I was not impressed with anything. My friend ordered the risotto and it came as if it was a plate of oatmeal, with no presentation or flair. Overpriced for the quality and I could have done better at a restaurant like Olive Garden which at least doesn't mistakenly represent themselves as fine dining."

  • "The restaurant has wonderful food and a fine wait staff. Unfortunately, being in the enclosed "St. Marks Square", across from the singers/music, makes it VERY loud and hard to hold a conversation. Other than that one item, it's great!"

  • "Sitting out on the patio was beautiful and I loved watching people walk by; however, the service was pretty awful. The waiter tried his best but it appeared that the restaurant was short-staffed. No one came by to refill my water or clear my empty plates. Also, they were out of the first two menu items I tried to order which was pretty disappointing. With that being said, the veal I had was pretty tasty. I'm glad I went for the experience, but I will not be back."

  • "From the moment you arrive, the host/hostess greet you with a smile. Your reservation time is actually your seat time even early not like other places where you wait an additional amount of time. The service was on point, the food was out of bounds, a very romantic ambience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for great food and atmosphere."

  • "We have been coming to Las Vegas for 10 years on business and always include lunches and dinners at Canaletto. Last year, we dined there exclusively with the exception of an evening at Il Fornaio. This year we shared the experience with relatives from Canada and they enjoyed it as much as we did. The food, the services and the price keeps us coming back each year."

  • "We travel through Vegas often, and make a point of dining at Canaletto's, it is a family favorite. The food is always fresh and delicious. Love the Pizza Cristina. It's nice to sit "on the patio" makes you feel like you are outdoors without the heat or cold to bother you!"

  • "This was my second time dining at Canaletto, (the first being 4 years ago) and I'm disappointed to say that my experience was underwhelming in comparison. The food was quite bland and the service friendly, but rushed. I was dining with customers and we agreed that of all of the restaurants we have been to in Vegas, this one was average at best."

  • "The staff was very friendly and attentive. The service was prompt, knowledgable, and friendly. Bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar was served quickly. The waiter was very helpful with the wine selection. Food was served hot and was attractively presented. Overall an excellent, enjoyable, and pleasant dining experience."

  • "When we booked our reservation we indicated that it was for my 65th birthday and because we were celebrating a vow renewal ceremony. Upon arrival at the restaurant (in wedding attire, and wearing Hawaiian leis) we were greeted by the hostess who said nothing in the way of congratulations for either occasion. She instructed us to go inside and seat ourselves. When our server came to our table he also did not mention anything about our two special occasions. He asked us what kind of water we preferred but then never brought us any. Also while eating we witnessed a (presumably) senior waiter reprimanding a server in inappropriate language which was quite disturbing. No offer of birthday or special dessert. Overall very disappointing."

  • "Ask for extra chair to put my stuff, Waitress said no! I changed to another table w/4 chair, but one seat was impossible to approach to the table, so big. I changed to another chair. The waitress said no. I explained the problem and him accepted. A woman , i think table manager, said no! The restaurant was empty."

  • "My family and I were not disappointed celebrating our New Year's dinner here in Canaletto. The ambiance, service and food were par excellence. We shared the appetizer Calamaretti Fritti and it was wonderful. I ordered the Linguine All Buranella (thin pasta) and it was awesome. My husband ordered the Coe Secoe E Amarone and my son got the Venezia Antica. They both enjoyed their entrees. The desserts were fabulous as well. Canaletto really stayed true to their Italian root. The service was fantastic. We love the feel of the outdoor-like dining. We also enjoyed the music entertainment played at the plaza just outside the restaurant. I will definitely recommend Canaletto to anyone."
