Diner Reviews
  • "The inside of Canaletto is beautiful but they didn't ask and sat us outside in a mass of humanity on the noisy patio. If you go there be sure to insist on the inside."

  • "We make it a point to always eat at Canaletto whenever we are in Vegas. The food is great. We have never been disappointed We like like sitting out and listening to the music playing and people watch."

  • "Friendly service. A great way to have Alfresco dinning without the elements interfering. A menu showing many selections. Plus an enactment of Italian street entertainment."

  • "Ordered Red Snapper special. Literally could not cut through with fork or knife; half cooked but also just a very bad, fatty type section of fish. NEVER send anything back but this was inedible. Offered salmon instead, but took over half an hour and we had all eaten and they had even cleared our table it had been so long. Obviously no communication among staff. Looked for mgr young guy in suit running around checking his phone not interacting/aware of guests later identified as such. Salmon arrived as we had credit card out to pay /exit- just all off. Salmon fair at best - had a few bites. They could see that, said nothing, presented bill w the $27 salmon on it. I paid/asked for mgr on way out and politely explained but minimal response."

  • "I dined alone and sat "outside" on a Thursday evening. Outside is actually the courtyard with cloud painted ceilings and surroundings to simulate sitting outside on St. Mark's square in Italy. It was very nice and they had live music playing. The food and service were outstanding as well."

  • "We took some out of town guests there for lunch. The service was attentive but not intrusive, the food was delicious and the ambience wonderful. We sat in the outside patio area and were able to see the entertainers do their singing act for part of our meal, it was very enjoyable. We've had dinner there in the past and loved it. We will certainly be going back again soon. Not an inexpensive place for lunch, but well worth it for the experience and the food."

  • "The food was excellent. The service was a little slower at times, but we had a large party of 9 with children. They were accommodating with making a dish my 10 yr old son would like. Very nice restaurant with great ambiance."

  • "The Italian food was fantastic and the presentation was exquisite. The dishes had special touches that made them different from what is usually seen. We were very pleased with the service, food, and atmosphere."

  • "This was my 3rd or 4th visit there. The staff was great as our party size grew suddenly and they were always there making sure our party was taken care of throughout the meal. Many of the party raved about the food and my veal was perfectly cooked. for the first time I sat outside and that was OK. I prefer the inside dining space and will ask for it next time. I need to do business and find the sound level better in there."

  • "We arrived a few minutes late but were seated immediately. The waiter was very friendly, answered all Of our questions and made suggestions for courses and wines. Salads were fresh, crisp, cold and Dressings were creamy and tangy. Main courses arrived on time and hot. The pasta special (w/prawns, and scallops) was delicious. The wife had cannelloni stuffed w/mazzorella and chicken came w/ both marinara and cream sauces baked to perfection. Waiters were attentive and extremely knowledgable. Prices were much lower than I expected. We would go back again without hesitation."

  • "I've been to Canaletto 4 or 5 times in the past and it always delivers great food with a great setting of the St Marks plaza in Venice. The servers are attentive, though rather slow sometimes (but who wants to hurry up and leave when sitting down in St Marks?). Our food was excellent, and the wine selection is great. My only complaint is that I was looking forward to ordering the salt-crusted sea bass and they ahd already ran out of it."

  • "We sat out in St. Marks square and, while noisy, it was a great spot for enjoying the free entertainment and people watching. The food was very good, but the service was a little slow."

  • "Service was a little slow but nothing really much to complain about. Unfortunately when we were there there was a circus type deal going on in the Palazzo which was really loud. Once that was over the noise level was just fine. I ordered the special, yellowfin tuna, but it was served cold and when I send it back they brought that back the same cold piece of fish. I had to wonder if there was a chef in the kitchen because certainly a chef would not send back the same cold piece of fish to a customer My has been ordered the Bolognese, which I highly recommend, it was fabulous flavorful and generous portion. Do sit outside on the Palazzo. It's a little bit Disneyland-ish but still quite enjoyable"

  • "Great night in Canaletto, the feeling of being in st marks sq in Rome is quite authentic, loved the night sky and Italian ambience Food was great and wine very good, I've been before so knew it was good, everyone enjoyed their food and experience at Canaletto."

  • "We were a party of 4 couples who get together every year in Vegas. We choose this restaurant because it was in the same hotel where the show we were going to see was at. It was perfect! The location, ambiance and food was all great. We all had a wonderful time and didn't have to walk far to the show."

  • "I have been to Canaletto twice now and have planned my trip around going to the restaurant. It is wonderful-truly Italian."

  • "The setting for this restaurant is amazing. Sitting out on the "patio" seeing all the people walk by, the Gondola singers, the impromptu classical concert, etc. It really transports you. Until you eat the food. Being used to Bay Area food prices, I thought this place was actually fairly cheap, but the food wasn't good. None of us finished anything, there were 5 of us. The wine was ok. The service was slow and we had to wait 20 min for our table despite having a reservation, they sat us at an empty table that had been empty the entire time we were waiting. If you're looking for scenery, this place is great. But the food is meh. Maybe good for a nice romantic date for a couple on a budget that doesn't mind not being wowed by the food."

  • "The experience was pretty average. Got to sit on the outside in piazza which ended up just being very noisy with a number of tour groups following their flag peole. Food was so..so. Service was really less than average for this type of restaurant. Pushed me to take wine they didn't have ultimately. Didn't check back to see how we were. Didn't offer coffee or dessert. The food was not even up to average for Italian restaurant fare. Bland and not well presented. I love Italian, but this was not up to caliber. Relatively expensive for little."

  • "We dined here last Sunday night and it was sensational. Our waiter Jesse took excellent care of the 6 of us. Our food was delicious and the ambiance spectacular. We enjoyed ourselves so much, we are already discussing our next trip to Vegas and especially back to Caneletto's."

  • "Everything e we come to Vegas we set at Canaletto's. We always get the salt crusted sea bass and risotto. They have a great wine list, this is a destination restaurant, worth the effort. Service is top notch, we have never been disappointed."

  • "I have been to the neighboring restaurant and sort of enjoyed the "patio" there more. However, this was a fun atmosphere as well. We had a group of 5 and were promptly seated at our reserved table (even being a little early). Everyone enjoyed their pasta dishes and meat dishes. Surprisingly it was very crowded on a Monday night. I am glad we had reservations for sure. Only complaint was the bathroom was not very clean. Other than that it was a reasonably priced (for Vegas) Italian restaurant with good wine prices. "

  • "We made reservations for Canaletto and were seated promptly. I read somewhere that if you make reservations, you will be seated outside. I am glad I called because I think the ambience was definitely more romantic outside! There were some musicians nearby and our table was perfect for people watching. Food was delicious and service was outstanding. I would definitely return again!!"

  • "The atmosphere is amazing. Restaurant Is located in the Venetian canal shop at the heart of the shopping scene. Menu was great. We ordered the salmon and pasta. Both were great dishes. The dessert menu was amazing. Would highly recommend the place. And plan to go back next time I am in las Vegas. "

  • "Family of 4 decided to make a dinner reservation at Canaletto for a special dinner ending our vacation in Las Vegas. Great service & it was a busy restaurant. We had before dinner cocktails, then crusty Italian bread to dip into olive oil and balsamic vinegar, we ordered a bottle of Italian red wine, we shared calamari, then we each ordered a pasta entree. I think I had the best one ... it was the Casonzei con Stracchini e Pere - similar to ravioli filled with roasted pear then tossed with asparagus & cheese sauce topped with toasted walnuts. We each had dessert, with my husband and I sharing the warm almond chocolate cake. It was heaven. We'd definitely go back, Highly recommend it! Something for everyone, taste wise & price wise. "

  • "The squid ink risotto is out of this world. We order it every time we are in Vegas. It's a must have!"

  • "We'll never know how the food was. It took the waitress a half hour to examine our party's IDs, twice sending for and waiting for the manager's approval. Bread and wine did not arrive for over half an hour, and in the end we left because we were there celebrating my son's 21st birthday, but they would not accept his valid temporary ID. An upscale restaurant, especially in Las Vegas where so many people go to celebrate 21st birthdays, should educate their staff about ID laws."

  • "We ate dinner here at around 9:30pm, after a show at the Venetian. We were late, and unfortunately missed our reservation, so we had an inside table instead of being out on the "square". Our service was great, and the food was surprisingly good. We each ordered a different pasta dish and I had the pear ravioli, which was excellent. I make homemade pasta and this had that delicate quality of fresh pasta. I would highly recommend this if you are in Las Vegas and dining at the Venetian."

Dining while watching the gondola rides and listening to Italian music was such a wonderful experience. Thank you Canaletto for an amazing anniversary dinner!"
