A word from Canaletto Ristorante Veneto
Canaletto Ristorant Veneto features authentic Italian food made from scratch inspired by the region of Veneto. Breads from the Il Fornaio bakery along with Il Fornaio extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar begin each meal. Seafood, rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game are our specialties. Sliced-at-the-moment salami and fresh oysters from the “Mercato”. Risotto made the traditional Italian way. Housemade and imported pastas, pizzas from an oak wood-burning oven, fresh salads and soups, seasonal antipasti and a wide variety of desserts offer guests a wide selection of foods suitable for any dining occasion.
Our full bar features a selection of Italian and domestic wines, with an emphasis on wines from the “Tre Venezia” area of Italy (Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige). Extensive prosecco list as well as many grappa, spirits and after dinner drink selections.

I went with a group of 8 others and we had a wonderful evening! They sat us in a seperate room all to ourselves and the glass opened up all the way so it was like indoor/outdoor dining. We are olive oil connoisseurs and the olive oil was strong with that grassy flavor that hits the back of your throat...top quality! For my app I had the beef carpaccio, and although my husband's mustard sauce is superior, the beef was top quality and very tender. I then had the Casonzei Con Stracchino E Pere which was rich but delicious and perfectly balanced. For dessert we ordered all of them...my preferred was the chocolate cake with a nutella filling and bits of amareto. Everyone loved their meal, the service and the quality...will definitely be back!

We celebrated 3 birthdays and 1 college graduation all on the same day and had a fantastic time. Everyone found a menu item they adored and the service was lively, on time, and gracious. We can't say enough good things about our event. Thanks Canaletto!

We were visiting Newport Beach and choose dinner here. The food was exceptional! I had risotto with shrimp/crab, husband had gnocci, and daughter had the largest most delicious ribeye (with ample bone for our dog). They altered the steak dish to accommodate a finicky teen without a bat of the eye. True customer focus!!!

Canaletto is one of our favorite restaurants. My grandkids love their PIZZA and Breadsticks and so does my husband. I often order 4 pizza's to go and freeze them. We took our grandsons ages 5& 6 on Tuesday evening for dinner. The main dining room at 6:00 was almost empty. The server was very sweet but service was very slow. The boys were very hungry and filled up on bread. Their pizza came around 6:30 and we got salads. We ordered two pizza in total, a salad and salmon. We took the rest of our dinner to go. I never got to eat my salmon in the restaurant. I knew the boys would not last. We left for home at 7:00 with food in hand. Too bad because we do love Canaletto and will return.

Cannaletto is one of our go to places as a family. But we never needed a table for 12 before. But we were meeting some other families with kids and they gave us a private room in back near the kitchen and it was great. Kids can run around and the room has a nice ambience and music to make for an enjoyable evening. I forget the name of the back room but if you have large group then a good place to request.

There were 3 adults and two kids (one 3 months and asleep, one 2 years and fed up with the day!). We needed to get in and out. Wait staff were courteous, helpful and timely. They knew we were pressed for time and served us quickly and unobtrusively. Great food - and when we're back in town we'll try them at a kinder pace!

We were a group of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. Like it that this restaurant has an established feeling and staff - they make you feel at home and that you can count on always getting attention, great food and great service. Very warm, professional, etc. The curry chicken was very moist and tender, the sauce was fantastic, lots of mushrooms and risotto on the side. Loved it. Their ginger peach tea is the best around - perfect for a warm summer dinner party on their patio. Our friends had wine and liked it, too.

Everything was very nice. The waitress who was very good and knowledgable selected a nice Pinot noir for me to go with the cheese board and calamari we ordered. Everything was perfectly paired. • 40th Anniversary disaster

We went to Canaletto Ristorante Veneto to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and told the hostess that it was for our 40th Anniversary. The restaurant never acknowledged our anniversary in word or deed. I ordered a medley of fish & one of the largest pieces was the salmon. When I cut into it, the inside was entirely raw. I ate everything else & left the salmon because I can't eat raw fish. When we finally could get a waiter, I told him about the Salmon. He never said he'd get me another piece or offered to credit me with a portion of the meal that I couldn't eat. All he asked was if I was done so he could take the plate. The restaurant is beautiful but the food and the service didn't live up to it.

We had dinner on a Saturday night while vacationing in California. We were seated right away at our reserved time which was important to me. The service and food were both very good. Our waiter was courteous and efficient. The only negative I have is that it was very noisy while we ate. Some people like that, but for someone like me with a hearing problem it made dinner conversation a bit rough. If I had it to do again, I might have preferred trying it at a less busy time.

An exceptionally well run restaurant! My husband & I took a friend who had never before dined there. She declared her food "amazing". The manager came by to welcome us & made us feel that he really cared about our experience there. One tiny flaw..........our waiter. He kept pushing us to order drinks before our guest arrived. He never smiled. He brought our entree before we finished our salad. It was clear he wanted us to hurry up, finish our food so he could turn the table. We would certainly recommend Canaletto to friends but to ask for a friendly waiter. The rest of the staff were indeed friendly, competent & attentive. I ordered pasta with sausage & porchini..........It was superb!

We were enjoying a very nice meal out in the patio until a large party of 18 mostly children came in. The staff made a lot of noise moving the tables around to accommodate the large party. We finished dinner and left. Wanted dessert but way to noisy to even hear yourself talk. To bad, it's a lovely resteraunt and great food.

We have been eating at Canaletto for years and for the first time we have had a less than excellent experience. My wife ordered Gnocchi and it was over cooked to the point of being mushy. This was during there Foods of Sicily promotion. I guess they took their eye off of the ball on the regular entrees.

The restaurant was super noisy because there was an event in the bar area and outside patio. We had to shout at each other across the table to hear one another. The salmon dinner and caprese salad was average. The wine was average. I wouldn't go to this restaurant unless I'm in the mood for a quick pizza and salad in the bar area.

Canaletto is a great place for a celebration! It's got great ambiance and is lively, although not noisy. You start with the best bread you will ever eat, and it only gets better from there. The servers are always friendly and knowledgable, and aim to please. The food is quite good, with their pizza being a must-try to split as a starter. Everything else was really good, but save room for dessert. The cart is overflowing with delicious choices.

I usually love this restaurant, but Mother's Day was terrible. The waiter was way in over his head. A drink was spilled and nobody came to help until we literally got up and tracked down a bus boy. The waiter had no clue what was going on at our table even though right at the table beside us. We have come here on Thanksgiving and the service and food were better. So, I guess Mother's Day is not the day to try Caneletto's.

We tried several dishes--the best (following our servers advice) was a three course chef"s special menu. Excellent salads-a delicious (small) meat pasta dish and finally a mixed seafood grill--fresh scampi, scallops, squid, salmon and sole--all well prepared and presented. There were five in our party and although the restaurant was busy our reservation was acknowledged and we were seated promptly.

Four of us ate our delicious meal from listings from the Festa Regionale menu. The seafood was very fresh and tasty, and the rack of lamb was very good, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. Each month we enjoy the various menu items with wine pairing from different parts of Italy. My dad was born in Italy, and I was raised on homemade Italian food. So if we want excellent Italian meal, we go to Canaletto and have always had a great Italian experience!

I had a great evening with friends here. The open feeling of the main dining hall, outstanding servers, and excellent menu and wines helped. Their passport (prix fixe) menus that explore different regions of Italy are so much fun. I had a menu typical of Puglia and found it authentic, which brought back great memories.
