A word from Canaletto Ristorante Veneto
Canaletto Ristorant Veneto features authentic Italian food made from scratch inspired by the region of Veneto. Breads from the Il Fornaio bakery along with Il Fornaio extra-virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar begin each meal. Seafood, rotisserie and grilled meats, poultry and game are our specialties. Sliced-at-the-moment salami and fresh oysters from the “Mercato”. Risotto made the traditional Italian way. Housemade and imported pastas, pizzas from an oak wood-burning oven, fresh salads and soups, seasonal antipasti and a wide variety of desserts offer guests a wide selection of foods suitable for any dining occasion.
Our full bar features a selection of Italian and domestic wines, with an emphasis on wines from the “Tre Venezia” area of Italy (Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Trentino-Alto Adige). Extensive prosecco list as well as many grappa, spirits and after dinner drink selections.

Getting service once the salads were served was quite difficult; it appeared the staff was not as concerned with two women dining The quality of the small amount of chicken added to the salad was grisly (have had much better at much lesser expensive restaurants). Would recommend to friends with a note of caution.

Homemades sauces, fresh pastas, colorful vegetables and impeccable seasoning make Canaletto an ongoing favorite of ours. We had a group lunch last week and seven of our ten could not resist the petrale sole special: panko crusted with lemon, tomato, capers over arugala salad. Our server was charming, interested and efficient and led the team of gracious staff who served us so well.

We frequent Canaletto often either for a light meal or family dinner and it's a great place for family celebrations. The staff is always welcoming and sociable paying attention to repeat customers and the ambience is clean, warm and comfortable. As for the food...never tried anything we didn't love. The octopus is some of the best around. Very well run, authentic establishment. Love Canaletto!

It's been a while since we ate here, and we shouldn't have waited so long. We got a warm welcome when we arrived, and we were seated at our favorite table. I ordered the mushroom risotto--superb! My wife had the ravioli, also excellent. I had a nice light Italian red, and we shared Canaletto's version of a zabaione with great enjoyment! We'll be back much sooner the next time!

We had the pere ravioli and it was not very good. It was not hot and the ravioli itself was heavy instead of thin and hand made. For $18.99 I would expect better. As the price goes up, the quality seems to go down.

I discovered Canaletto because the other fashion island Italian restaurant. It was a huge restaurant, very well designed decor. Lots of choices on the menu however god food tasted less than authentic. The pizza tasted runny, the seafood pasta was far too fishy. Not the best taste and at a premium price I didn't feel my dollar was well spent here

The service was great. Our server Michael was very attentive. The Canneloni did not have much flavor and needed salt to make it taste like something. The Chicken Risotto had the same issue. We were disappointed in the taste of the food since we spent over $160.

Each of them take a personal interest in your dining pleasures. From Antonio the manager and exceptional sommelier, to Auetos the waiter, who is a foodie himself and makes your evening delightfully fun.

Four of us had the three course menu items from the Abruzzo area of Italy. The lobster bisque was more like a tomato soup with very little lobster flavor. The porchetta (pork belly) was very crisp and somewhat dry. Three of us would not recommend this dish. The wild sea bass was good. The best dishes of the night were the pasta dishes- calamari with fried eggplant and the cannelloni del fattore. We waited over 30 minutes for our third course, which seemed like a long time to wait.

Had a bad dinner experience with three friends in the restaurant on August 29. First time had dinner there. Brought a bottle of Prosecco. Ordered oysters (2 half dozen) and octopus for appetizers, steak and fish for the main courses. The waiter poured our glasses full of semi warm Prosecco, so we put ice in the glasses. The steak was too fatty and the fish was overcooked. Although I love the atmosphere and the way the restaurant is laid out, I was very disappointed in the food. The waiter seemed bothered with other matters and was not attentive. We were charged $40 for the corkage for one bottle (instead of $20). Lastly, you had no horseradish for the oysters. We complained but we were still charged full price. .

I went with a group of 8 others and we had a wonderful evening! They sat us in a seperate room all to ourselves and the glass opened up all the way so it was like indoor/outdoor dining. We are olive oil connoisseurs and the olive oil was strong with that grassy flavor that hits the back of your throat...top quality! For my app I had the beef carpaccio, and although my husband's mustard sauce is superior, the beef was top quality and very tender. I then had the Casonzei Con Stracchino E Pere which was rich but delicious and perfectly balanced. For dessert we ordered all of them...my preferred was the chocolate cake with a nutella filling and bits of amareto. Everyone loved their meal, the service and the quality...will definitely be back!

We were visiting Newport Beach and choose dinner here. The food was exceptional! I had risotto with shrimp/crab, husband had gnocci, and daughter had the largest most delicious ribeye (with ample bone for our dog). They altered the steak dish to accommodate a finicky teen without a bat of the eye. True customer focus!!!

Canaletto is one of our favorite restaurants. My grandkids love their PIZZA and Breadsticks and so does my husband. I often order 4 pizza's to go and freeze them. We took our grandsons ages 5& 6 on Tuesday evening for dinner. The main dining room at 6:00 was almost empty. The server was very sweet but service was very slow. The boys were very hungry and filled up on bread. Their pizza came around 6:30 and we got salads. We ordered two pizza in total, a salad and salmon. We took the rest of our dinner to go. I never got to eat my salmon in the restaurant. I knew the boys would not last. We left for home at 7:00 with food in hand. Too bad because we do love Canaletto and will return.

Cannaletto is one of our go to places as a family. But we never needed a table for 12 before. But we were meeting some other families with kids and they gave us a private room in back near the kitchen and it was great. Kids can run around and the room has a nice ambience and music to make for an enjoyable evening. I forget the name of the back room but if you have large group then a good place to request.

We were a group of 4 and we all thoroughly enjoyed our dishes. Like it that this restaurant has an established feeling and staff - they make you feel at home and that you can count on always getting attention, great food and great service. Very warm, professional, etc. The curry chicken was very moist and tender, the sauce was fantastic, lots of mushrooms and risotto on the side. Loved it. Their ginger peach tea is the best around - perfect for a warm summer dinner party on their patio. Our friends had wine and liked it, too.

We went to Canaletto Ristorante Veneto to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and told the hostess that it was for our 40th Anniversary. The restaurant never acknowledged our anniversary in word or deed. I ordered a medley of fish & one of the largest pieces was the salmon. When I cut into it, the inside was entirely raw. I ate everything else & left the salmon because I can't eat raw fish. When we finally could get a waiter, I told him about the Salmon. He never said he'd get me another piece or offered to credit me with a portion of the meal that I couldn't eat. All he asked was if I was done so he could take the plate. The restaurant is beautiful but the food and the service didn't live up to it.

We had dinner on a Saturday night while vacationing in California. We were seated right away at our reserved time which was important to me. The service and food were both very good. Our waiter was courteous and efficient. The only negative I have is that it was very noisy while we ate. Some people like that, but for someone like me with a hearing problem it made dinner conversation a bit rough. If I had it to do again, I might have preferred trying it at a less busy time.

An exceptionally well run restaurant! My husband & I took a friend who had never before dined there. She declared her food "amazing". The manager came by to welcome us & made us feel that he really cared about our experience there. One tiny flaw..........our waiter. He kept pushing us to order drinks before our guest arrived. He never smiled. He brought our entree before we finished our salad. It was clear he wanted us to hurry up, finish our food so he could turn the table. We would certainly recommend Canaletto to friends but to ask for a friendly waiter. The rest of the staff were indeed friendly, competent & attentive. I ordered pasta with sausage & porchini..........It was superb!
