The servers, hostess and bartender were all friendly, and knowledgeable of all things on the menu. We had our dinner on the patio despite the website informing us that we couldn't reserve tables there, it only took a short wait at the bar to get a drink before the hostess came over to tell us our table was ready. After conferring with the waitress, my wife decided on the seafood risotto which was heavenly, and the grilled asparagus, which had a BBQ flavor that I hadn't had on asparagus before, it was awesome! I had the seafood linguini which was prepared differently than I am used too, but it was still incredible. I had made a comment on here complaining about the slow service, and last Monday we went with a group of 10, and it was FANTASTIC all around. My compliments to Campo, for taking my concern seriously. You have to try their spaghetti and meatballs... do die for. Their pizzas are delicious as well! Had to go to front desk and ask to place an order. Manager quickly brought over olives and bread and a swift apology. Food was ok, not as great as it has been in the past. Pizza was soggy with waaaay too much tomato sauce and a small amount of toppings. My cocktail was excellent as was the reliable dessert. Whenever I have guests or family come up from the Bay Area, I have confidence that whatever is on the menu, will appeal to even the pickiest eater's palate. Mark is usually out on the floor, and his presence is not to supervise but as a leader...he is never too busy to answer a question about the menu or to talk up one of the specials. We started with the Grilled Octopus, followed by the D.R.O.P.P. salad (ingredients change daily, depending on local availability), and Kale salad. We both ordered off the regular menu, Sea Scallops and Grilled Steak - Scallops served with a carrot puree which enhanced the subtle sweetness of the perfectly seared scallops. Steak was a lean, flavorful cut and was prepared simply, with a light rub of fennel, sea salt and EVOO, grilled to perfect medium rare. The food is usually top notch with only a few misses when it comes to specials. They have tasty cocktails, italian sodas and a relatively good wine/port list.
The service is always friendly and prompt, with only the occasional up-sell attempt.
Its location is very fun with inside views of Sierra St and outside views of the Truckee River.
If you do not like loud restaurants you may want to look else where or just prepare yourself. It is always busy and rather loud. This is good for groups and couples that do not mind sitting side by side but if you are looking for a quiet romantic dinner this will not be the place for you.

The menu is a perfect balance between traditional and nuevo, with an emphasis on locally sourced ingredients, and each dish is executed beautifully, is prepared with high quality fresh ingredients, and has lovely flavor. Our first visit to Campo was on a weeknight, which allowed for a quieter, more relaxed meal with excellent service. Our most recent visit was on Mothers Day. The restaurant was quite full, very loud, and service was not up to expectations. Thankfully, a manager stepped in to help our overwhelmed server, and soon there appeared to be more help called-in to better handle the full house.
