A word from Campo - Reno
Campo - Reno is a Rustic Neighborhood Restaurant. We have relaxed but attentive service. We change the menu daily. We serve local and organic foods. We serve Naples style Pizza, we cure our own salami and make all our pasta in house. Our beverage program is as fresh and seasonal as our menu. We have a fun and affordable wine menu and by the glass program. Campo runs many promotions, so please check our website www.camporeno.com to see what may be going on right now. Our patio is right on the Truckee River in downtown Reno. We bake all our breads in the wood oven and the 2 open kitchens are the focal point of the restaurant. Loosely translated Campo means gathering place. we welcome you to come on down and make yourself comfortable.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "The food for our Easter Dinner was perfect! We had to accommodate a vegan and gluten free diet for two of the guest with us and we were pleasantly surprise at the options that were available for them not to mention that our meal was absolutely delicious. I will highly recommend this restaurant. "

  • "My husband and I celebrated our 14 year anniversary here with our 11 year old. We had an absolutely stellar experience."

  • "Usually have to wait, even with reservations -- 45 minutes for dinner with no where to sit while waiting, and 15=20 minutes for lunch. Always out of something we want, either wine or beer selection or food item. The food is adventurous, but some dishes have a flavor profile that just doesn't work; certain dishes/drinks are way overpriced for what they are — skimpy portions, and meats bordering on dry. Coffee is outrageous at $2.95 a cup! Campo has great potential — just don't try to hard. Wait staff is very friendly and accommodating, and apologetic for wait time, but clientele shouldn't have to wait, with reservations. I will definitely return, but hope Campo improves its menu selection. Serve great comfort food!"

  • "My husband and I went to Campo for our anniversary dinner this past Saturday. Neither of us had been there before and I am delighted to say that it was the best dining experience we've had in a while. The service was excellent, the food was amazing! We will definately be adding Campo to our favorites list!"

  • "Pros's - Great find in Reno. Great drinks!! Food is yummy. Meatballs, Pork, Pizza, Polenta amazing. Best thing on the menu - Cauliflower app. Yum!!! Fun outdoor seating area. Con's - VERY small bar (maybe sits 8 total). Can't have dogs in outdoor seating area."

  • "I enjoy dining at Campo for several reasons; it's food is unique and always delicious, the restaurant supports local products, the atmosphere is unique and comfortable, and the location is scenic. Each of our party of four ordered different entrees. The presentations were great as were the portions. One of our group had not yet dined at Campo but is planning to return."

  • "Was in town and finally had time with some friends to give it a try. Very busy, but we enjoyed the different items presented on the menu. I got the hanger steak and my other friend had the wild boar pasta dish. Cleaned the plates. And then budino for dessert, Just to relish all of that!!!!"

  • "We are normally a traditional kinds of food folks so eating at Campo takes us out of our comfort zone to try some interesting foods for us. We love the friendliness of the service, the trendy atmosphere, and the downtown Reno exceptionalism apart from casinos."

  • "Campo is my new favorite Reno restaurant. Every time I've visited the food has been better and better. You could find this restaurant in any big city charging two to three times Campo's prices. Highlights for me have been the crispy polenta appetizer, beet salad and of course the amazing dessert, their Budino. Only slight disappointment was the Spring Salad which was tasty but lacking substance, mostly just pureed avacado and very tasty soft truffled cheese. Campo has great happy hour drink specials, half off well drinks, and specials on beer/wine too. Service has been impeccable, knowledgeable and very friendly. I'd recommend this place to anyone who visits Reno, you won't be disappointed."

  • "Overall was a good dinning experience. Whet there on a Sunday evening. Although it was not busy the service was a tad slow. They were out of some of the menu choices. On the plus side the food was good except the pizza was overdone. Part of the pizza crust was charcoal black and dry. Unique dishes that are made from starch and use of natural ingredients make this restaurant unique and a standout from the normal fare in Reno."

  • "We went for our anniversary with our family. I loved that you could make reservations! When I did make reservations I added a note about my sons allergies. They were so helpful all night letting me know how they changed this or that so my son could eat it. I will definitely be dining here again! Not to mention all the rest of the food was exquisite!!"

  • "Had a yummy lunch with girlfriends. Great place to hang out and chat. No pressure to give up our table even though they were clearly busy! Food was excellent, cauliflower butternut soup to die for!"

  • "The server, "Joy," was friendly, but the service was poor and full of errors. I was brought the wrong soup and our server disappeared before I could tell her. I had to flag down another server to get my soup, and even then it took quite a while. We ordered two salads, but "Joy" brought us just one to share. Again, a long wait to get the other salad. We were offered toppings for our pizza, but they were tiny little portions with no utensil provided to sprinkle them on the pizza we were sharing. The server told us "most people use their fingers" for the toppings, but that is not very appetizing when sharing a pizza. The food was good and the ambience very nice, but this is not the first time I have had service issues at Campo."

  • "Campo's continually surprises with new, delicious innovative pairings of food combined with excellent support of local farmers. I love it! And of course, the kale salad is worth a trip all by itself."

  • "we're in town from the bay area and found this place on yelp after a day of skiing. i was surprised that the only reservation available wasn't until 8:30, but i took it anyways. i'm so glad i did! food: really really good and so nice that they source locally. we ordered the braised beef shank for 2 people. (it could've been for 3.) the chef came out to explain where the beef came from and how it was braised for 14 hours! what?! so, needless to say, it was really good, though i do wish there was some more gravy or braising liquid. service: great! super friendly, attentive. the manager and chef both stopped by to check on us. i would totally come back if i could. in fact, i'd make it a point to come to Reno just to go to Campo now."

  • "We decided to give Campo a try after hearing about it from a friend. We came from Minden, fortunately we had a reservation because it was quite busy. we had a wonderful waiter who was happy to make suggestions. We had the Cauliflower appy - yum, sandwiches and beer. They had no problem making adjustments to the meal ( I did not want truffle with my potatoes) and everything was delicious. The excellent service was a huge plus. We had a table overlooking the street/ riverwalk which was really fun. A really great experience...we will be back for dinner!"

  • "Campo was an excellent experience in every way. The food was outstanding. The staff was perfect. The service was top notch. What you will find at Campo is substance over image. What you won't find is an ounce of attitude. If you want a great meal in Reno, prepared to perfection, served by well trained, caring and attentive staff, by all means give Campo a shot."

  • "Came to try something new on our 6th anniversary. Our waiter seemed annoyed the entire time we were there. The halibut was really expensive for how bland it was. Girlfriend had some spaghetti special with sausage and broccoli and it tasted like cinnamon. While the broccoli was good the rest of the plate tasted weird and not appetizing . Ultimately was disappointed with the food and would not recommend it to my friends in the future."

  • "Roasted califlower appetizer, warm olives, and golden beet salad were all excellent. After such a nice beginning it was disappointing to find that our vegetarian entrees were so lack-luster. The spaghetti with marinara sauce was essentially inedible. Thick spaghetti pasta with a coating of red sauce made for a big, glutinous mess. The Marguarita pizza was fair, but unremarkable."

  • "my first time at Campo and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and the food was very good. I will definitely be back and most likely bring friends with me."

  • "What a great place for great food! I felt the food was the best in Reno if not the west coast. Thank you for a great experience."

  • "It was a Friday evening. We were a group of four regular size women. The booth was tight. The food and service were good. Interesting menu. The noise level was such that it was difficult to hear each other. I would return off hours or perhaps a week night, not on a Friday night or with a group."

  • "All we can say is, everything was awesome! We received a gift card for Campo for Christmas, and we are sure glad we did or we might never have discovered it. The food was unique and everything was delicious, the atmosphere was great, the staff was great, overall a wonderful experience and we will be back. Oh and even if you are full, don't forget the desserts, they are amazing."

  • "I always try to hit Campo when I am in Reno. My last experience didn't have as high of quality of service as usual, but the food was outstanding, as always. Very unique and eclectic menu. This will continue to be a place that I bring people to and make a point to stop at each time."

  • "Campo is a very busy restaurant with a corresponding noise level. However the food is very good and the service even better. The Kale salad with egg is my favorite food now. The wine list was very good and the prices were affordable. We plan to return here often. There is a nice movie theater across the street, so this is a great place for movie and dinner night!"

  • "My wife and I had lunch at Campo twice last week, and boy is it great! The owner, Mark Estee, greeted us personally each time. During the second lunch, he was cleaning up tables and taking dirty dishes himself! A group of friends are coming from London to attend "Burning Man" next summer. I've emailed them recommending Campo!"
