A word from Campo - Reno
Campo - Reno is a Rustic Neighborhood Restaurant. We have relaxed but attentive service. We change the menu daily. We serve local and organic foods. We serve Naples style Pizza, we cure our own salami and make all our pasta in house. Our beverage program is as fresh and seasonal as our menu. We have a fun and affordable wine menu and by the glass program. Campo runs many promotions, so please check our website www.camporeno.com to see what may be going on right now. Our patio is right on the Truckee River in downtown Reno. We bake all our breads in the wood oven and the 2 open kitchens are the focal point of the restaurant. Loosely translated Campo means gathering place. we welcome you to come on down and make yourself comfortable.Continued

Diner Reviews
  • "Tidal pool app. Was scary and buried in a creamy sauce. Pork was overcooked and lacked flavor. Potatoe wedges could have been used for door stops."

  • "Always a great meal and good vibe here. Outdoor dining on the river is very nice."

  • "Great food as always, though the service was a little slow."

  • "This was our third trip to Campo...twice in Reno once in Mammoth. This trip to Reno was just as good as the first. Service was exceptional... our server happily described each dish, being fully versed in the entire menu. Great appetizers...we shared the Burrata and the Cauliflower. Wines are also very reasonable with good options. Our 13-year old's love Campo and we will certainly return."

  • "We went for brunch and the only thing brunch like was the short rib Benedict, which was good and hearty. I was expecting a brunch like menu but it was just their lunch menu with the addition of the Benedict. Disappointed in the menu but the food was good."

  • "If you are visiting Reno and avoiding the gaming scene, this is a great spot. The Truckee River is beautiful and there are only a few spots to eat on the river. Campo has a great rustic italian menu and great drinks. You can eat outside on the patio overlooking the river or inside. We had a lot of small plates instead of entrees. We loved the warm olives, roated cauliflower, and shisito peppers."

  • "We felt like it was over priced and for the most part an unappealing menu. The dessert was the only thing we enjoyed. They charged 16$ for a plate of lettuces with dry, overcooked chicken slices on it...for a lunch price? It was rediculous!"

  • "Had been wanting to go here for over a year and finally decided one night after work. I will definitely be back! Had the spaghetti which. Would normally never order out somewhere, so glad I did and my husband insists that's what he is getting next time. Great find!"

  • "Campos menu is always changing. Sometimes the food descriptions are a little mysterious, and you never know what you're going to get, but it's almost always delicious. I love that all ingredients are local."
    Dined on 6/25/2014
  • "The food is locally sourced and they work hard to prepare it effectively. I'll continue to come back, and that's the important part. They've also got a good wine list that features some smaller and less known places. I like this."

  • "Waited for anyone to acknowledge our table. Drinks came out sporadically, had to ask multiple times for the wine we ordered. We were promised bread, had to repeatedly ask for items. For the price, the service was poor."

  • "I had heard the hype-tried it for myself...food was just ok- I guess I was expecting brilliant. Dessert was amazing though! I will try again before writing it off."

  • "Campo is the only restaurant in Reno that could easily be a trendy hot spot in San Francisco. Best place to eat in the Biggest Little City."
    Dined on 6/17/2014
  • "My first dining experience at Campo had been so delicious I was maybe expecting too much this time. The Kale salad, which I had been telling everyone about and even trying to replicate at home was my first choice. Unfortunately, the poached egg was cooked thru and the crispy parmesan crumbles were notably scarce. It's the creamy egg combined with the crunchy salty cheese that makes that salad pop. My entree of herb gnocchi had far too much heavy sauce to appreciate the delicate pasta. The Tomato Basil bread soup was not visually appealing as it looked like a heaved up bowl stewed tomatoes and was far too acidic. I think my choices were bad and maybe the kitchen was a little off. I will go again, but my expectations will be adjusted"

  • "Before having dinner at Campo for the first time, I was really hoping I'd enjoy it. I read mix reviews prior and was slightly worried. I am 100% behind their farm-to-table, support local farms mission. The food proves that it is a worthy cause. So many people are not aware of their food source, a troubling problem. Campo sets the standard for what restaurants should do. We had a variety of dishes, all proving to be quite delicious. I've heard from some friends they think its too fancy but I thought it was perfect."

  • "Took my wife for her bday dinner. We had great salad and the gnocchi with mascarpone cheese was fantastic. Small touches like the ice cream with candle and a hand signed bday card with the servers' signatures topped a great experience off."

  • "Been to Campo and number of times and it seems as though the quality has been diminishing for about the last year. We sent two salads back and our entrees were okay. Caramel Budino was amazing as usual. Makes me sad because its such a great spot but Mark Estee need to make sure it stays as great as it was when it first opens."

  • "Upon entering Campo, we were warmly greeted by the host, making us feel welcome. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with explaining the menu and drinks. She made wonderful recommendations making it hard for us to choose only a select few items. We started off with a couple of recommended cocktails that were light and refreshing. Then we managed to narrow it down to the Fitto Misto (fried calamari and veggies), Risotto of the day, and the Halibut special. O.M.G. It was the most flavorful, amazing and delicious food. To the point where I was tempted to lick the plate clean but I refrained! Everyone we encountered were genuinely kind and friendly. The experience was amazing and I can't wait to come back!"

  • "Only come in to Reno once a year and Campo will be a definitely be a annual visit. Lots of items sounded great but we tried the roasted cauliflower, kale salad, risotto special and the carbonara. Couple of cocktails with that and we had a very enjoyable dining experience. Nice fresh local food."

  • "Not in a hurry to return. They are trying to keep up with the masses and it is obvious as the service and presentation is becoming less. "

  • "The food is always consistently good and innovative. "

  • "A small group of us had dinner there at the recommendation of a friend. The service was VERY SLOW, the food MEDIOCRE. Such a shame as it sits with a nice view of the river if you dine outside and is attractive inside though noisy. Reno deserves better!"

  • "Incredible as usual. The first time I ate at Campo the salted caramel budino had me at the salted. I have since discovered a recipe that is the bomb. Rave, rave, rave reviews every time I serve it. I had the spinach ricotta. I thought it was a tad over-sauced but the flavor! Service was a little slow---it was a kitchen issue (isn't it always). Our wait person was fabulous. Maybe the bus boy was a little over zealous asking for my plate and I wasn't finished."

  • "Made reservations four days ahead of time. Showed up 15 minutes early were told to come back in 15 minutes, they had the reservation. Asked for outdoor and was told that was a different list that COULD NOT BE DONE THROUGH OPEN TABLE. Another list and a hour's wait if we wanted. Passed. Seated and it took 20 minutes for drinks and an hour to get the food. Not coming back."

  • "We made a reservation for a Saturday night and really hoped to get a seat outside, since reservations do not cover outside seating and the wait was 45 minutes, we were seated in the dinning room in a dark booth by a cramped walkway that the servers used and the bathrooms. I feel that since I made a reservation I would have a great seat in the dining room that at least had a view of the outside not a small dark cramped booth with nothing to look at but a wall. We brought some out of town guests and this was their only impression of the restaurant. Our server was great helpful and cheerful the food really good but the seating just really dampened the mood. Next time we come I would wait for the outside seating and not make a reservation!"

  • "This was our second visit to Campo and despite remembering good food and a vibrant atmosphere the first time, we cannot say the same. The noise level was distracting and the food (perhaps what we ordered) was disappointing. Campo is in a great spot along the river in Reno and had an active bar scene, so if that is what you are looking for, it is the place. However, we came for a late dinner after attending a local event and it was not the place for that."

  • "Our server , Beau was awesome , he recommended my pork dish ( 3 different styles of pork ? Pork chop, sausage And bacon ) Cool ! And the pineapple mojito is the best cocktail ! "

  • "Loved all the great food choices; excellent Campo Pizza, rigatoni, quail, short ribs. Had very good service from Vince and Elise! A beautiful evening to sit on the patio along the Truckee River!"

  • "Great hamburger - very choice and lean. We can't stay away from the kale salad, one of our favorites and consistently good. Pasta was well seasoned, well cooked (al dente) and meant to be savored. Martinis are the best in town -- we love the olives in these cocktails. "

  • "Everything was great except for paying the bill. The servers (a gal being trained by a man) seemed to disappear and ignore us. This has happened a few times to me by the same waiter. More than a coincidence by now. Good service should include checking out from the restaurant."

  • "went there fro 19th wedding anniversary. We were seated on time, server was very helpful and friendly. Food was delivered as ordered and in a timely manner, drinks were made well. Not your run of the mill food selection. Wife wants to come back monthly!"

  • "The spot is just right for wonderful downtown Reno. For cocktails the group had the "Grilled Pineapple Mojito," "Famoso," and "The Citadel." Each of them were amazing. We tried almost every desert and again, it was great. For the Dinners, we tried a couple different dishes (some were specialty), they were really good, but needed just one thing to set them apart. I think Campo is great and will stay around for a long time. I hope they keep the menu fresh and try new things, i will defiantly come back for more."

  • "Went for Mother's Day with my small family, had reservations and was seated right away. They were very busy and we had a new server but, never less it was great. Had the peppers and Frito Miso appetizers although really wanted the beef heart (offal offal) and the pig parts which were trotters but my family are not foodies like me. I had the squid ink pasta with shrimp and squid, just amazing and my husband enjoyed his wild boar pasta. Will definitely be back without the kids. Love, Love, Love"

  • "Came to Reno to celebrate my granddaughter's graduation from UNR. Her choice for a special occasion lunch was Campo and an excellent choice it was! The feel was cross-generational, the food, even at lunch, was top-rate, and our wait person McKenzie was very attentive and a delight to interact with. I'll be back next time I am in town."

  • "Excellent location right off the Truckee River! Food and service was outstanding. Like the "local aspect" of the menu. Specialty cocktail list was fun! Will definitely go again, hopefully soon. NOTE: They validate parking!!"

  • "I've had lunch, dinner, and most recently, brunch at Campo's. My husband, daughter, as well as a friend, and I enjoyed Mother's Day brunch and, once again, had a great meal. My friend and I had the crab eggs benedict which melted in my mouth. My 9- year -old daughter always has the burger, and my husband tried the sun - dried pizza. My husband said the pizza was a bit heavy on the arugula but was really good and he ate all of it. Campo's remains one of our favorite "go to" restaurants. "

  • "We have dined at Campos in several occasions w/o issue. This time portions were small and appeared to be rushed together. Risotto had so much red pepper flakes that it masked the seafood. Service was on par but the meal was disappointing. "

  • "This place is the #1 reason to go to Reno. I was bummed to have to be in town on my first visit, as gambling and legal prostitution is not my thing, but found this restaurant and the riverwalk area. It is awesome and the locals always seem to be there too. Reno is so much better than I expected. Super fresh local ingredients, amazing daily risotto on the specials. So many good things to order, I have to visit at least twice every time I am in town."

  • "Campo never disappoints. This meal was as delicious as ever. My husband and I feel like it is worth the 100 mile round-trip to eat here. My new obsession is the Frito Misto--it has deep fried lemon slices and fennel mixed in with the calamari. It is still my favorite stop in Reno."
