Diner Reviews
  • "Campiello is good food with a nice ambience. An excellent chaser to help forget a Crave experience."

  • "For the best ambience, special occasion celebration, food and service, I highly recommend Campiello. You won't be disappointed!"

  • "The food was great. Service a little off but overall a great experience. Loved the house salad and bread. Will come back to try the pasta."

  • "All the dishes were very well prepared and delicious. Service was excellent. Though the restaurant was 80% full, it was still pretty quiet. On this Saturday night. The atmosphere is pleasant, a sort of Tuscan village style with darker, muted, earthy colors. A $51 bottle of wine did not quite live up to expectations and the total for two came to $170 w/o tip. That was the only downside in an otherwise faultless dining experience. The butternut squash ravioli was heavenly, roasted carrots wondeful. My friend let me try her dishes: black cod with farro and roasted brussels sprouts. All very flavorful. As long as you are prepared for the cost, you will not be disappointed. Definitely recommended."

  • "Campiello is a delightful spot for a Sunday night date night. We do this quite often and are never disappointed. The food, service, ambiance and price are perfect!"

  • "Campiello's menu selection goes from traditional to eclectic, with a wide variety of choices that should please everyone. The restaurant featured special selections from the west coast of Italy on the night we went to dinner. We ordered appetizers and our main course from the feature menu and desserts from the regular menu. Our meals were well presented, tasted great, and the cadence and spacing between each course was perfect. The service was attentive, but not obtrusive and the noise level in the restaurant allowed for a pleasant/relaxing evening out. I have gone to Campiello's for business, family and romantic meals and have never been disappointed with the food, service or ambiance."

  • "Fabulous Steak Tartare, roasted chicken was tender and juicy, pork was very good (don't order more well done than medium for best taste and tenderness). Chocolate cake is decadent! Service was excellent. A very enjoyable evening! Date Night can't be beat!"

  • "Signed up on line and. Hadn't dined here before, but trusted the good reviews so gave it a chance. Glad we did. Very nice experience with superb service and good food. Definitely would repeat. Great first impression."

  • "Mets from friends for dinner at Campiello and it was a great night. Food was very good and the service was excellent. Prices are high but should be expected with the quality of food."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "The rabbit on the regional menu was fantastic. The pork tenderloin was very good (make sure to specify medium or medium rare to avoid overcooking). Steak tartare, beet salad and lamb ragu delicious! Service was very slow (very unusual for this restaurant) and it wasn't busy. This restaurant is still one of the very best in the twin cities."

  • "Thank you Campiello for making our birthday party for my husband very special. The two servers were wonderful, smiling, personable, and great service. One of my favorite places and it was nice to share it with family for my husband's 50th birthday. food was very good."

  • "Sunday night is date night at Campiello and they offer a fantastic 3 course meal with wine for $50 per couple. And if you don't want that deal, you can order from the regular menu and get discounted bottle of wine. I had the best cocktail ever - an old fashion with honey bourbon--really wonderful. Bread is always yummy here as well as everything on the menu. Can't wait for summer when we can sit outside again. One note of warning--the calimari is super spicy!"

  • "The food was not that exceptional for the price, but not bad. Too expensive for every time may be special occasion service was good the place is nice. May be the dish we ordered dint taste that great.."

  • "Always a reliable choice, with good food and service. Although we didn't have it this time, the Sunday date-night menu is a fantastic deal."

  • "I enjoy the ambiance and the food and service at Campiellos. My food was very tasty, but too salty for my tastebuds. I had the lamb. The portion was large and I liked the white beans. My friends loved the spaghetti and the pizza. The waitress was very nice when I told her and she said I could send it back, but I didn't. Two of us took home leftovers because the portions were large. I will definitely return."

  • "We have enjoyed date night here several times now and it is always exquisite. Excellent food, service and ambiance. We love coming here anytime, but Sunday night is quite a value!"

  • "Excellent food but staff was not very helpful. Everything on the menu was their "signature". Waitress was also very scatterbrained. Water glass was always full, which was nice while we were waiting a long time for our wine."

  • "Server was very good, food was quick and tasted very good. I had the turkey burger and it had great flavor! Only negative is it is very pricey...$85 for three people, 2 ate sushi."
    Dined on 3/13/2014
  • "I had lunch at Campiellos and my friend and I both had the lunch specials. The price was great and well worth it. I really liked the Penne chicken and my friend enjoyed her roast beef sandwich. Her birthday chocolate dessert was excellent."
    Dined on 3/11/2014
  • "We go to Campiello's regularly, and it is always excellent. The prices are very reasonable and on Date Night (Sunday) with three courses for two including wine for $50, it has to be one of the best deals in the country."
    Dined on 3/9/2014
  • "Had high expectations, but the food and service just turned out to be average. The linguine with mussels was slathered in tomato sauce, which tends to overpower all other flavors. Could have been clams, shrimp, lobster...wouldn't have known the difference. The spaghetti and meatballs was good, but not spectacular. The waitress was very robotic, never mentioned specials or the tasting menu that she plopped on the table."

  • "I eat at Campiello 3-4 times per month, usually due to a business meeting. It is consistently great! Annie was our server and was excellent. The soup is always unique and fantastic. Penne pasta is a sure bet to please. I recommend this place to all."

  • "Their "Date Night" special for Sunday night was a great deal and amazing food. A bottle of wine, appetizer (2), main course and dessert for $50 is amazing deal! I've eaten there for lunch too and their pizza is great too and don't see anything on their menu that didn't look good."

  • "Campiello used to be a favorite when I worked nearby, but for the last 10 or so years, we've been further away and sort of forgot about it. No longer. We had a very good experience there, all four of us very pleased with everything. I don't have a single negative to report. I had been there with my daughter a month or so ago as it happens (tonight was our first time back with friends, triggered by my positive experience with my daughter). We ended up sitting at the same table and having the same waiter which, of course, I didn't notice. He did and even remembered us and what we talked about. Amazing. As you can guess, he got a very good tip!!! Ours was a thoroughly enjoyable dinner and we would recommend Campiello to anyone."

  • "This was my first time to this restaurant and the primary reason was proximity and a chance to check it out for restaurant week. We opted for the restaurant week menu instead of the traditional menu. I had the pork tenderloin with risotto and my wife had the tagliatelle. My pork tenderloin had a great sauce and crust, cooked perfectly. The risotto was very bland and didn't pair well. The tagliatelle had great flavor of the sauce, but the homemade noodles were a bit grainy. The chocolate mouse cake stole the show, with perfect peanut butter crunch, great caramel gelato and superb chocolate flavor in the mouse cake. The steamed mussels also had great flavor, leaving me wanting more. Overall, good but not great, especially for the price"

  • "We went to Campiello for restaurant week and were not disappointed in any way. Excellent service and great food that was unique. The mussels were fabulous and are a must try for anyone going there."

  • "We felt very welcomed by the staff, the food was good, I love my spicy lamb ragu and my wife's chicken was good too. She just wished it didn't come on the bone, and it was kind of a pain to eat. I got the meatballs for my app and my wife got the caesar both were really good, but again she wished the salad came chopped, they serve you full romaine leafs so you need to cut it yourself. We both ended up with the same dessert which was the choc. cake with salted caramel ice cream. My wife said the ice cream was really good and I felt the cake was good... very moist."

  • "We enjoyed our meal at Campiello/EP. We haven't been to this restaurant and wanted to go for some time. Our last experience was in the OLD Campiello in the Uptown area. Excellent service and wonderful food. We will try to make it back again soon. The lunch was great and would like to try the dinner."
