Campanile is closing this week. How sad. We have been coming here over the years. Will miss the wonderful food from Mark Peel and the beautiful setting. Our final meal was great. Loved that we could negotiate the price of wonderful wine.

We had a wonderful time at Campanile. The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. We stayed much longer than expected but we were never rushed through our meal. I'm sorry that the restaurant is closing its door at this beautiful location but I look forward to Mark Peel's other ventures.

I've been curious to try out Campanile for sometime. Scallops were good, pasta carbonara was good. All items were executed well, but not above anything that makes it stand out. Seating location was great as it overlooked the main dining area. Service was decent, if not a little distant at times. I'm glad that I had a change to go, but walked away thinking that for the price, it was middle of the road (not bad by any means).

One of my favorite restaurants in L.A., and unfortunately, it will close its doors forever next Wednesday. There is talk of it reopening elsewhere, but nothing has been finalized. The food here has always been first-rate and the service has always been warm and friendly. The ambience is wonderful and I suspect will be missed by its many patrons. A great loss!

Sadly, Campanile is already a ghost of her former self. Reduced menu, no wine list, no cheese plate (even though we could see the cheeses in the bakery next door from the patio where we were seated.) The food was good, not great. We've had many amazing meals at Campanile over the years, and have celebrated many special occasions there. When we heard the restaurant was closing,we decided to go one last time, but alas, the magic has already gone. Campanile will be MISSED!

Our waitress was pretty neglectful... hardly ever stopped by to check on us. Took about 25 minutes to take our order, but then our food came out really quickly. The brisket hash was a little on the dry side but the rest of my companions thought the food was really good, especially the crab cake benedicts.

Love the grilled cheese night here. It was pouring rain and we were running late, but the hostess was very understanding. We were sat right away. I ordered the roasted tomato soup which was delicious. It went downhill from there. Our sandwiches took at least 1/2 an hour to arrive after our soup. We kept being told they were on their way, but that's just way too long to wait between meals. Anyhow.... when they did finally arrive they were delicous as usual. It's not like they didn't have enough wait staff. Something must have been going on in the kitchen. Oh well..Aside from the service the food is always good here. Needless to say we didn't even try to order any sweets.

Wow! The best place and the best times I ever had.... my whole family loves Campanile. We love the food, Chef Peel and all the other creators. We love the staff, and Garrison gave us the best times of all. But, I have to say even more, I love the building. I sure hope the new restaurant knows enough to leave the building alone. Probably I will never be in it again as I will likely protest this whole thing the rest of my days. Our best wishes to everyone who gave us such a wonderful 'scene' [with sustenance] for us to honor our family and friends and make the best memories.

i really liked the beautiful and historic space, the ambience of the restaurant, and the food was outstanding. what put a damper on the evening unfortuantely was the stuffy, foo-foo attitude of our waiter. he was quite rude and full of himself. when we asked him about the preparations of certain dishes, he would purse his lips and practically roll his eyes at us. i didnt appreciate it and since i had made the reservation for our party of 8, i felt responsible for his lack of care.

Realizing that Campanile is closing soon, I trust these comments will go unheard. Indeed, given Campanile's legendary history and the celestial status of its progenitors, we decided to indulge in Campanile realizing that what had made the restaurant great had most likely already left the barn. Still, our early Saturday evening dinner for four was marked by our confusion at how a restaurant could possible achieve greatness employing tactics bound to perplex the unwary. Three half-deviled eggs? How do four people divide three-half deviled eggs? What about the fourth half? In the waiter's mouth? I thought it would be rude to ask. And how does any restaurant serve unequal-sized pork chops to the two people at our table who ordered them?
