It has been great having Camerons as a restaurant close to our neighborhood. They do a wonderful job anytime we are there for diinner or brunch. Greeted/seated promptly at our reservation time. Kids given crayons and an activity booklet (not just 1 sheet) and a Mother's Day picture to color. Service was attentive and appropriately-timed. Food was disappointing for the price. Walleye lacked flavor and the sauce was not flavorful enough to perk it up. Seafood pasta was tasty, but I assumed it would be a white sauce instead of red, so I was disappointed [should have read more carefully or asked]. Short ribs were fine but not outstanding. Lemon cheesecake-type dessert was delicious. I've had better-tasting meals here in the past. If I recall, scallops were delicious.

The ambiance is good for friends, relatives, couples. It's comfortable if you're dressed casually or formally. The staff is very attentive and you'll want for nothing throughout your meal. The staff is also very knowledgeable about the menu and will help you with selections and ideas.
They have a gluten-free menu (and the gluten-free rolls are quite delicious).
The filet mignon is so tender you hardly need a knife. The sides are delicious too. And the desserts are simply wonderful.
Trust your wait staff to recommend a good wine. They are very good at that.4/25/2013 12:00:00 AMWe've eaten at Cameron's numerousWe've eaten at Cameron's numerous times and it never disappoints. Both Food and Service are always top notch. We were lucky they had their famous crusted Walleye back as a special. It has been a staple of Cameron's menu but hasn't been on for a while and it's excellent. I had the Shrimp Bisque and I've never had better. Everyone else's salads and entree's were great as the 4 of us shared tastes. Oh, and the bread is worth the trip too, especially if you like the roasted garlic they serve with it. It's got a hard crust that I like and is always served fresh out of the oven. The wine list is not huge but offers good variety and value. We shared the caesar salad to start and my husband had the pineapple cosmo cocktail. The salad was good, pretty standars, but large enough to share. For dinner I had the pan roasted scallops and my husband had the steak frites. The scallops were large, juicy, and perfectly cooked, and the mashed potatoes and vegetables were delicious as well. The only disappoitment were the truffle potato chips - overcooked and no truffle flavor. My husbands steak was excellent, well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The hand-cut truffle fries were again overcooked and no truffle flavor. Overall a very good meal and portion sizes are quite large, almost too large, but so delicious.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMWe went on a Friday eveningWe went on a Friday evening and were seated promptly at our reservation time. We were waited on in an efficient and friendly manner. My food...risotto balls, shrimp with grits, and vanilla ice cream was pretty much flawless...especially the grits which were incredibly creamy and perfectly spiced. It's a nice room, but they have squeezed every inch of space out of it they can, and, not unexpectedly, on a Friday evening, it felt terribly crowded and was extremely noisy. It's still a darned good restaurant, and, unless one is seeking crowds and noise, probably one worth visiting on a quieter weekday. We were very pleased with the food and service. If you have dietary restrictions like I do (I don't eat much meat and do not eat pork at all) then look up the menu before going as there are limited options. We were there this evening to celebrate my birthday. Everything is so special there. It is not terribly elegant, but very nice and comfortable. The server, Erica was terrific! We shared a bottle of wine, the portobello mushroom appetizer, a caprasi salad, roasted lamb and a lovely sorbet. Sadly some restaurants don't want customers to share and add charges, but our dinners were divided and the amounts were just right and presented perfectly. The bountiful buffet was conscientiously monitored and quick food replacements just kept arriving. Our service was super. The mini food plates were delicious...We were so happily full that we could only marvel at the gorgeous shelves of little desserts on our way out. The service was fantastic, the food was great, and we could not have been happier. The only negative was the lack of space in the entrance while we waited to be seated but that couldn't be helped. Even that did not detract from the fun that we had. The buffet table was kept well stocked, and the food variety was excellent. The ability to order some items off of a menu was great. As I mentioned above, the service was fantastic. The drinks were refreshed on time, the plates were removed quickly, all questions answered quickly, and with a smile. Reservation on-time, attentive server, and superb food. We both had the goat cheese salad and shrimp and grits. No one else can do grits like Cameron's. It was half off a bottle of wine night which was a plus. My seat allowed me to observe the kitchen. The head chef checked each plate as it came to the pickup shelf and made changes as necessary. Additionally, I never saw a plate sit there more than thirty seconds before being delivered to a table. Buffet was not overwhelmingly large and neither line. Some warm plates are prepared in the kitchen individually to be served by order so that they are not sitting on table getting cold and dry. everything was well thought.
