A word from Cambridge Mill
With its glass walls, open air terrace, and views of the river and falls, the dining room opens itself to the local landscape. Seen from the outside, the Mill’s Solarium wraps the building to overlook the river while providing an outstanding example of architectural harmony.
Enter the Mill and you step back in time and forward into pleasure. Open hearted and welcoming, upon entry your first glimpse might be of our kitchen staff at work on our Earth to Table cuisine. Everywhere you’ll find limestone walls, hand-carved beams, antiques, and the kind comfort that comes from cozy fireplace nooks, intimate drinking coves, and friendly, courteous service.
To complement all this, there are seasonal menus to impress even the most sophisticated palate. Outstanding food, inviting ambience, memorable service, for any celebration, Cambridge Mill more than welcomes, it warmly embraces.

We had a birthday brunch and the building was special, the cold food was enough for brunch but we persevered and tackled the hot food. The view was wonderful. We are from Oakville and will visit the C Mill again. We have visited Spencers in Burlington too. Thanks for a great treat.

We really enjoyed our brunch, the different food stations that were cook to order were delicious. There was a really nice selection of seafood but not too much in the way of salads. The other items, eggs benny, potato's, roast beef etc. were all delicious and I would recommend the Cambridge Mill the food was great, the building is beautiful and the view was amazing!

  • Worst tea ever, twice
    OpenTable Diner Since 2014
    Dined on 9/12/2014
After an average meal, we ordered 2 pots of tea. We got tap water with tea bags. We tried to locate the server but could not find her. She finally appeared as our guests were done with their drinks. She explained the situation as it was due to a machine defect and she proposed to change the tea with boiling water from another machine on a different level. She then brought 2 new pots with only Luke warm water with tea bags. When we complained for the second time she asked us if we ever tried loose tea as it was special. We felt disrespected as we could not find a link between the cold water in the pots and the type of tea bags. Our experience could have been better if they had checked the quality before serving.

We went out for our own year anniversary after having our wedding at the mill a year ago. Out time was perfect. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious and the view was breath taking. The server really went the extra mile with complimentary champagne and attending or every need. I would recommend the Cambrige Mill to anyone I know. Thank you for helping make our wedding day and first year anniversary so wonderful!

Our waitress was extremely pleasant, efficient, and accommodating - while remaining unobtrusive when needed. Unfortunately, I do not know her name, but wish to highly recommend her: the one with the unusual hairstyle (short on one side). [not the best way to describe someone!] My warm mushroom salad with salmon was outstanding! And my companion loved the mussels and salmon cakes. This place is a distance for each of us - but definitely worth the drive!

Sometimes return visits to the same restaurant can be disappointing if the experience is less than the previous time. Not so with the Cambridge Mill. The food, the service, the ambiance, and the staff all combine to make the experience a memorable one. When you order an item and ask it be cooked or served to personal preference and the restaurant delivers the request 'bang on', it clearly demonstrates their desire and ability to provide attention to detail. The quality and taste of the chosen menu items left us commenting to each other most of the way home. Well Done Cambridge Mill! One of our favourite restaurants for sure and highly recommended.

We were a party of three. Sat near a window, which was great. Service was exceptionally slow and often forgot things. He didn't actually bring out our food or say goodbye to us at the end. Appetizers and drinks took forever to arrive at the table (an hour) even though it was only olives and salad. One of the main dishes was so overcooked (seared tuna), we had to send it back. Pizza was okay. Dessert was very good (chocolate pate). Overall the scenery was good but the food is overpriced for what it is. This is a "fancy" restaurant with a great-looking menu that turns into mediocre food.

For a special couple on their 65th wedding anniversary we wanted to make it a special day and booked the Cambridge Mill. We were not disappointed with our choice. The food and service was outstanding. We started the occasion with Mimosas and worked our way through the various food stations - prime rib; omelettes, crepes, shrimp, oysters, salmon, salads and of course desserts. At the end of our meal our server made a point to congratulating the couple on their anniversary. We would definitely come back again for brunch even if it is not a special occasion.

Short staffed; our waiter was rude and prone to frequent errors. Steak was ok - Salmon and pork - not recommended. Seating request was not accommodated, which in itself is not a problem but the lack of notification regarding the restaurant's inability to meet the request is discourteous. This restaurant does not present as one which builds regular or return business.

The Mill is a beautiful restaurant along the Grand river. From our table we had a fabulous view of the water rushing over the dam and as the sun went down the colours reflecting on the water were amazing. Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. Three of us had the chef's choice steak which was a 8oz ribeye. It was cooked to our liking but we found the meat a little too chewy and wished we would have gone for a better cut. The beans that accompanied it were sprinkled with bacon and almonds and tasted incredible. The little roasted potatoes were also delicious. My daughter had the chicken with pesto and she enjoyed everything including the grilled zucchini. We would definitely go back again!

Having tried the Ancaster Mill it seemed logical to give its sister restaurant a try. It was our anniversary so we were looking for somewhere special. It was not a disappointment. Service was very good, as was the food. Our only complaint, a minor one, were the blinds. Given the unique views of the river it seemed a shame to be peering through semi transparent shades.

This was a disappointing experience. Previously great times. No table cloths, waiter flustered & not helpful, had to go after him more than once for service. Did not advise that drinks ordered were not covered in the $45 brunch cost. The bill was more than what was anticipated. Food was good as always. We will not be returning for a very long time. Upscale restaurant located on the riverbank. Popular wedding location (there were three on Friday night). Parking was at a premium due to the volume of wedding guests. We had to park down the street. The food was very good. Entrees are $20+. Glass of wine $8+. The service was excellent. Our waiter was witty, knowledgeable and did a great job. The restaurant is very beautiful. However, that was the high. The low was the lack of detail attention, our chairs were full of crumbs, and the hostess just look at us cleaning our own chairs, and offer a 'sorry'. The food: I had grill calamari was more of a deep fry than grill. I also had a Caesar salad that came in a bowl that didn't look very appetizing and the flavour was bland - could you a bit more anchovies. The Sirloin Steak was beautifully cook, but what with bacon bits on the baked potatoes taste processed. My wife had a fish with risotto that was not very well presented and smell a bit fishy. For the reputation and the price, I expected a lot more. The place is top notch. Food should be the same!

Starting with the view things only got better. Our server got us started with a Spanish Cava that we enjoyed tremendously. We then tried a ceviche prepared scallop with some special toppings. Our main course was the red snapper which was well prepared along with some roasted veggies. I requested some broccolini which was fantastic. As it was our anniversary we had two desserts one being the Crème Brule and a chocolate dessert served with homemade ice cream and bananas. All and all it was a special night and we will be returning to the Cambridge Mill. Linda and Bruce Proctor
