We are Cambria part-time residents
and visit Cambria Pines Lodge Restaurant almost every time we are here. We love the food and the specials they offer, including the special for locals that includes any two main courses and a bottle of house wine. The food was excellent as usual this time, but this was the first time we were seated in the room at the back of the restaurant with the fireplace. We did have to move because we were near the fireplace and it was too warm for us. Once we moved to a nearby table, we found the chairs less comfortable than the ones in the other rooms or outside in the private rooms. We would suggest that they get more comfortable seating in that back room and better cushions and heating for the outside seating."

We generally LOVE CPL for dining
... this time our server was ... well ... how would you say ?? LACKING!! Lacking any sort of knowledge or understanding of the menu, didn't speak up - acted like it was his first hour on the job and had NO Training ... my husband would ask him a question and I had to answer because he would stand there dumbfounded ... but food was Ok ... I totally recommend getting a reservation for the outdoor dining which makes it a much more memorable experience. Love the location and other than our sad waiter ... all past experiences have been better ... their complimentary breakfast when you stay there is THE BOMB!!"

Food was very good, the gorgonzola
butter on the filet is a great addtion. Not great ambiance, but I'd rather have good food"

I ordered the Top Sirloin medium
rare and it was perfectly cooked. Top stars!"

Loved it. Would do it again. Great
scenery, food, and service. Amazing!"

We ate here because we were
staying at the Lodge and two free dinners came with the package. We were happy to see there was two vegan friendly meals on the menu. That's usually hard to find at a restaurant like this. Both were excellent. However they were very over priced! But since it came with our hotel room it didn't bother us. We would have not have been happy if we had to actually pay for our meal. The service was just ok. I don't know if the waiter thought we were not going to leave him a good tip since we were getting the special or because we did not look like the typical diner since we are younger but we feel the service was lacking. No refills on water and just a rush everytime he was ar our table. We still left him a good tip!"

Ask for a grotto table outside in
the rear. You will be amazed. You will also be amazed by the food. I do not want to go back, as I want the memory of my dining experience preserved for all time. Yes, it is THAT good."

I have been to the Cambria Pines
Lodge several times in the past, but like a bad relationship I am breaking up. I will not return. Charred filiets (tried to cover up with fried onions) to be replaced by some sort of beef the size of a fifty cent piece with wrong sides no silverware and no waiter. I ate the vegetables my friend had soup (which we were not charged). The table next to us had some sort of problem also."
Dined on 1/6/2014
This was not only a great place to
eat, they still had their Christmas decorations up and the grounds were beautifully decorated. The overall ambiance is that of a cloistered private retreat center. Lots of great places to take pictures and it would be perfect for a destination wedding!"
Dined on 12/31/2013
We've been to the Cambria Pines
Lodge other years -- also on Christmas Day. Last time there was not a buffet. I wasn't too impressed with the buffet at all. The food was OK, just OK. Other times, the food was excellent. Not so much for Christmas in 2013. That said, the lights around the grounds were terrific."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Food was good and service, though
inexperienced was polite and friendl. There is one room with a fire place. This one's nice, the others are nothing to write home about. Priced on par with any decent steak/prime rib spot. The outdoor grounds were lovely and still decorated with holiday lights. Could be a romantic spot if there weren't so many kids around."
Dined on 12/28/2013
Made reservations for Christmas
Day. Found out when we showed up that it was buffet-style dining. I was shocked and very disappointed, but it was Christmas Day and didn't want to make a fuss. The salad and shrimp cocktail were fine, but things went downhill from there. There were a lot of servers, but maybe not enough for the crowd. We are vegetarian so our only main dish choice was salmon and it was very dry and tasteless. I guess I was just so unhappy that I didn't know it was going to be a buffet. I definitely should have been told. It was pretty disappointing."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Made a excellent christmas buffet.
Carlos our server was great. Will return without question. Very large prawn cocktails with prime rib, ham ( my grand children loved the ham), and several sides. Very nice."
Dined on 12/25/2013
Was recommended by several people
- it did not disappoint. While the clientele was on the older side, the food and ambiance was outstanding. The Christmas market was not open while we were there, but the patio was tastefully decorated and gave the place a little extra to look at, with its bare minimum decorative approach. The bread was delicious (and dangerous!) and the proportions were generous. The prime rib was fantastic and the New York was delicious as well. Will definitely stop by again next time we are in Cambria!"
Dined on 12/17/2013
Good basic menu, with something to
please everyone. Especially busy the night we went, and we were sitting next to a party table, so was a bit noisy. Food was delicious ."

My family and I have made
Thanksgiving at Cambria Pines Lodge our tradition going on our 3rd year. We love it. The scenic forest views, heated pool & jacuzzi, nature walks...and the food! The food was spectacular. We will definitely be back before next years Thanksgiving feast. Thank you, Cambria Pines Lodge for our families great memories!!"
Dined on 11/28/2013
Thanksgiving buffet was good,
service was adequate, great atmosphere. I ate Christmas dinner there and it was excellent. A great place to go on these holidays when most restaurants are closed. Scenic lights in the courtyard, and a very nice bar."
Dined on 11/28/2013
I get it, feed the masses a buffet
for Thanksgiving, move more people, make more money. I reserved a table so that I could enjoy a quiet vegetarian meal and nice service. What I got was a Costco salad and dried meat. Actually, we stood up and left as soon as we realized what was being served."
Dined on 11/28/2013
When we heard the thanksgiving
meal would be "buffet" style- we were expecting cafeteria, rehydrated food that could be easily prepared for the masses. Wow! were we ever so surprised. The food was amazing- they prepared smaller platters at a time to ensure excellent quality. The vegetables were fresh from the restaurants garden and were crisp(prepared perfectly). All of the traditional Thanksgiving fare was provided with each dish tastier than the last. I would highly recommend this restaurant to my closest friends and family. We hope to return next year with a larger group."

We were pleasantly surprised to
find restaurants on Open Table in Cambria. It is located off the 1 and can't be seen from the highway. We enjoyed our late lunch. We will stop in again. The location appeared very quiet and "woodsy" . The bar/lounge had football games on and we might have eaten in there had we seen it first. It was lively and inviting too."
Dined on 11/10/2013
The food was great, the décor was
awesome. I think this was one of he nicest places I have eaten. I loved the food. The service needs a little more attention. The first night the waiter was doing okay but didn't even bring water until our diner was half way done. The second night the waiter needed a lot of help. He didn't do a very good job making us feel welcome. He didn't tell us that we could take our wine with us as well. The whole experience makes it warmer when you feel welcome."
Dined on 10/16/2013
Surf and turf was edible. The
place was outdated and cheesy. Next time we will eat downtown in the west or east village."
Dined on 10/13/2013
My husband and I spent two nights
at the Cambria Pines and we had not only two wonderful breakfast buffets, we also had a great dinner which was part of a package deal. We both ordered the Steak with the mushroom sauce, which was excellent and we also enjoyed a great bottle of their house wine. The service was outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant as well as the lodge to others. Can't wait to return again!!!! Getawaygirl"

Hotel is showing it's age but
still a wonderful place to explore with it's many spaces."
Dined on 10/12/2013
We had a good dinner in the
restaurant - service was good, attentive but not too much - food was good too. On another night we had appetizers and an amazing dessert in their bar - if you get a chance to try their puff pastry with ice cream and fudge sauce you definitely need to try it! Good wines by the glass, nice atmosphere, and an overall nice experience. We would definitely go there again when we're in the area."
Dined on 10/4/2013
We had a great dinner in the
patio...we were seated outside in an alcove with a fireplace and our dog was treated like royalty!! I had the halibut which was very good and my husband had the sea scallops and said they were delicious.. The service was excellent and we will definitely be back the next time we visit the Cambria area!!"
Dined on 9/20/2013
It was a rather expensive menu. It
was in a lovely location. Staff was friendly. There were long lines at other Cambria restaurants and we were hungry. We checked Open Table, and a table was waiting for us here. Nothing really special about the food. We were among the last tables served that evening. The food was just so-so. Nothing really bad or really good. But it filled the bill for us, albeit leaving our wallets a bit emptier than we would prefer."
Dined on 8/27/2013
We took the family to the
restaurant as we spent an evening at the Lodge, and included in the rate were two free entrees and a bottle of the house wine, which was very nice. My filet was excellent, the kids had caesar salads or burgers, both fine. My wife had the vegetable lasagna with mixed review... Would be nice to have a few more vegetarian options, particularly with the fresh local availability. Not a lot of less expensive options for the kids."
Dined on 8/12/2013
The food, service and ambiance
were great. The outdoor area is pretty to look at and window seat is nice, although a window table was not available and our location was fine. Cute and comfortable dining room."
Dined on 8/16/2013
The food was not well prepared,
and the textures/flavors were not well chosen to blend together. i was very disappointed - not at all what I had expected."
Dined on 8/11/2013
Our waiter was very rushed and
inaccurate, even to the point of having to run, not a fast walk or jog, but run through the restaurant. His food spacing was rushed, the food brought to our table was inaccurate, and the bill had a bottle of wine added that we never ordered. After dinner I approached the manager and he acknowledged seeing the servers chaos, and had spoken to the server. He thought the server seemed "OK" and that he preferred to let the server "work through these problems." At a high end restaurant like this I don't plan to let the manager use me as a training ground for his servers to "work through" their issues. To the servers defense, he was polite and just seemed very, very overworked. Poor service trumps good food."
Dined on 7/31/2013
We were seated right away next to
2 open windows which we were unable to close and there was very cold air blowing on us. no one came to help and after 10 minutes (!!!) no one had even brought us water or taken our drink orders. THEN the screaming baby was seated at the next table. We got up and left. Note this is a very small restaurant on a Sunday night and it was only 1/2 full at 7:30 pm. there was no excuse for the way we were treated here."
Dined on 7/29/2013
The Cambria Pines Lodge Restaurant
is comfortable with excellent food! Watch the service (was a bit slow to start off) but picked up nicely! The grounds, grotto and Araceli the Bus person made the experience for us! Araceli was excellent and very attentive! Thank you! The bar was definitely the place to meet up as the band seemed to set the tone!"
Dined on 7/27/2013
Had a very nice dinner and
breakfast here. Would recommend this restaurant instead of going into Cambria."
Dined on 7/19/2013
Food was fresh and met our
expectation, however the waiter London, was the worst we have had in years. We were calibrating our 10 year anniversary and this guy killed the mood. Very disappointed."
Dined on 7/6/2013
I was looking forward to eating
here seeing all of the positive reviews, but I was underwhelm with the food. We went there for lunch and I had the fish tacos and it was plausible at best. My wife had the prime rib sandwich and it was just okay, nothing special. The restaurant seem pretty empty for lunch and now I know why."
Dined on 6/30/2013
But we were in a large party and
the floor was rude when he asked us to be quieter. They even went as far as to tell us that because we were loud, they could not seat anyone in the room next to us. When we asked for our bill so we could take our loud party away, it took forever. You would think that they would have them already if we were so loud!"

My Wife & I had a wonderful time
at Cambria Pine Lodge and would do it again in the future, the Deluxe Suite and the food was awesome. Will recommend it to our friends. The Burgi's"
Dined on 6/28/2013
Great experience! My wife and I
used their package room/meal deal and basically got a $100 dinner for $27. Excellent value. Service & food was super. Mood was excellent for our aniversery celebration. Lounge after dinner provided a great entertainment experience as well. This place was recommended to us by my sister and she hit a home run. Will recommend to our friends and will be back. The gardens around the property are a must see!"
Dined on 5/24/2013
Great service, lovely gardens,
wonderful food. You really feel like you are away from it all here. We had a special dinner deal through Travel Zoo and they treated us like we were full paying customers. Of course we left a full tip as you should. Everyone is very friendly. Try it! The chicken piccata is a real great. Prime rib is great too"
