  • "I am no expert on Peruvian dining but given that my significant other is from Lima, I have eaten my fair share of Peruvian food. The lack of Peruvian wine is a disappointment. The only beer offered is Red Stripe (Jamacan beer in Peru?!?) No Inca Cola. No chicha morada. I tried 2 of the 3 classic Peruvian cocktails offered and they were both very good. The food was very good but highly stylized. I would recommend both the Ceviche appetizer and the lomo saltado main dish. Overall, I found it to be overly expensive. There is at least one other Peruvian restaurant in Montreal with the same high caliber of cuisine but which has the extras that I was hoping for: Peruvian wine (privately imported), standard beer menu, and chicha morada."

  • "Everything was really great! The food was to die for! Amazing chef & sous-chefs! They were all very attentive to details and as we saw them prepare our food, they made sure to taste every single batch they made before serving it. The ambiance was also great. And the staff were epitome of professionalism. Although there was one customer that had one too many glasses of wine that evening and she was a little bit too loud for such an intimate restaurant. The couple beside us had to leave without finishing their dessert because they couldn't stand her high pitched and very loud voice. Other than that, the experience was phenomenal!"

You gotta be patient too (it takes time to prepare so nice flavoured dishes). In 1h30, I just ate my appetizers for exemple (bring more than 1 bottle of wine)"

I just anticipate to visiti the Madre on Masson and Madre on Fleury which has the sameowner and chef with the same kind of cuisine."

  • "We ate there on a weekday and it was very quiet. Very much enjoyed the vew, watcging the fhef prepare the menu offerings. We had a delightful, nainly fish dinner as that was what Mario was doing that evening. Each morsel fresh and sparkling, complex flavour pairings but nothing silly or just gussied up - real food, lovingly abd respectfully prepared."

  • "Le menu dégustation s'est avéré un vrai succès. Les assiettes étaient toutes réussies et spécialement celles composées de poissons et fruits de mer. Étant un "apportez votre vin", nous étions un peu décontenancé sur le choix de vin à apporter puisqu'aucun menu n'est disponible mais notre instinct d'apporter un blanc et un rouge nous a bien servis. Les touches de cuisine d'amérique du sud étaient présentes toutes au long du service (surtout dans les arômes et assaisonnements) et leur intégration avec les produits tel que le thon et les pétoncles ont été très appréciés. À recommander à tous ceux qui recherche une cuisine avec excellente exécution et un peu d'exotisme dans les saveurs!"

  • "This is our second time to this restaurant and we love it. Dont' expect large portions but the 5 service menu is sufficient. Every bite is an experience. The service is excellent and each service is explained in details. The chef always visit the guests and is more than glad to explain his cooking. Its a unique experience. But not for those who eat fast and want to bring a doggie bag.... The fact that we can bring our wine makes it still an affordable evening. Very haut de gamme restaurant"

At $ 200 for two (and no wine/BYOB) it is (in my opinion) expensive, thus a "special occasion" restaurant. One aspect made for some discomfort. Imagine this very cold night of Feb.14, everyone came with a heavy winter coat, but no place to put, no garderobe or hook on any wall. No help was offered, all coats ended up on the back of chairs and in part on the floor."

  • "I had come once before many years ago. Based on a recent review, I was looking forward to rediscovering this restaurant. The website attracted me with two table d'hote menus, but in fact, only the 5-course was offered on Thursday night. We added a foie gras taco to make it 6 courses. The black bean soup was good flavour but too thick. (They apologized and said it would be corrected.) The arctic char and filet mignon were fine. The dessert was disappointing - a melange of chocolate, peanut butter, banana and lemon. It did not have visual appeal and taste was okay but not up to my standard. The foie gras taco was the best dish. The BYOB policy makes this restaurant affordable, but it does not stand out as a destination restaurant."

  • "We were 2 couples, and thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. The food quality and presentation were outstanding, and the service was friendly and efficient. We were seated in an area where the noise level permitted conversation and the possibility of watching our food being prepared in the glassed-in kitchen. The only negative was our realization, on arriving at Razza, that it was a BYOB. This information was not conveyed to us in our e-mails from Open Table and the restaurant, necessitating a race to the nearest SAQ outlet. Aside from that, it was another wonderful Montreal a Table evening, and we will definitely return to Raza and recommend it to our foodie friends."

  • "What a delight to enjoy Nuevo Latino food and bring one's own wine. Chef Mario lived up to his reputation with plate pleasing presentations and mouth watering dishes. From the black bean soup with hints of coriander and slices of crisp radish to the melt in your mouth beef cheeks, to the carmelized creamy banana puree topped with dehydrated shavings of Nutella our 3 course menu for 39$ was worth every penny.   • "We ate at Raza during restaurant week in Montreal. We had a three course fixed menu. The scallop ceviche as an appetizer was excellent as was the black bean soup that my husband had. He especially liked the way it was served. I had an excellent beef cheek which was a very generous portion, and he had cod served again served with panache. All dishes had wonderful Latin flavorings, which were subtle but definite. Dessert was also excellent. We would definitely go back and sample the many different flavorings on their regular menu."

  • "We dined as part of Montreal a Table, so we had a limited menu. The food was excellent, and the soup a real standout. Our only issue was the portions were small. Tiny small. One of our group did the 5 course meal instead of the 3, and we think he ended up with the same amount as food as those with the 3 course had. And he was still hungry at the end!"
