We were greeted before even entering by one of the two concierges, who was vibrant, happy, and held the door open for us (wonderful service!). Two of us arrived early and were asked if we'd like to be seated or wait for our friends at the bar. We decided to check out the bar, which was staffed by quick and friendly bartenders. Friends cam and we were immediately taken to our table, which had scenic views out the back of the dining area. Appetizers were delicious, meals were filling, and drinks were paired well (wine was a little pricey considering the bottles, but welcome nonetheless). Throughout dinner our servers were friendly, patient, helpful, and prompt. Ceasar was there, unobtrusively, whenever we needed anything. Food came out on time - a challenge for any kitchen with numerous large parties in attendance.

We usually all bring a dish and have a dinner at our meeting place. Seems we will end our year this way again by coming to CALIF CAFE. The staff was very accomadating to all of our needs and wants. Thanks to Ben our waiter and Carol at the desk. Food was excellent and presented beautifully as well. Thanks to all of the staff!!!

The server, Hannah, was a delight and gave us excellent service. My nephew has severe peanut/tree nut allergies and Hannah took steps to ensure no allergens would be present in any of the food. The manager was also professional and stopped by to congratulate my brother and to make sure our meal was to our liking.
The food: De-li-cious! Half of us ordered Rib Eye Steak and it was excellent: juicy, perfectly seasoned, and soft as butter. We are steak fanatics and loved it. My sister got the pasta with prawns and really liked it and my mom ordered a chicken that she also enjoyed (though this one was a bit on the dry side). California Cafe bucks that trend. We have eaten at California Cafe four or more times for holiday occasions and have never been disappointed. It was an outstanding evening. The waiter (who was doing double duty on the bar) was incredibly attentive and did a great job of looking after us.
All small plates were exceptional- especially tuna poke.
Salad and soup were outstanding, especially strawberry/goat cheese augula (perfect dressing) and clam chowder.
The main courses didn't disappoint (altho' burgers were not available).... The Sea bass and Ahi tuna were our favorites...but sirloin with cajun fries was also delightful.
Bread pudding was perhaps too sweet but OK to share.

Unfortunately, they ran out of whatever they needed to make pizza. Bummed, I opted for their ravioli.
The raviolis came first and they resembled an appetizer. There were just 5 raviolis swimming in sauce. Good thing I wasn't counting on making a meal with this entree. At $15.75, it definitely wasn't an appetizer.
My burger was just as good as I remembered. The combo of blue cheese and bacon is a bit of an acquired taste that I've come to like. The seared tuna seemed lost as the 5 bare slices sat unadorned on a large plate. For $24.50, I'd expected a bit more flair. We went to celebrate a birthday. The food was great, and they were great at splitting our meals too. The wine and drink list was pretty respectable too. We had cocktails and wine. The birthday celebration tiramisu was delish! We have called this our new favorite restaurant for two or more. On May 4th, my daughter took me out for lunch for my birthday. Loren our waitress was a delight and very attentive. Everyone was professional. As a former customer service facilitator - I take particular notice of how customers are treated by the staff. Our food was absolutely delicious! Thank you California Cafe manager and staff for truly making me feel very special on my birthday.

I am greeted ans seated quickly and the waitstaff have gotten to know my my particular requests so I don't have to explain myself. There is a fairly good selection, and the food is fresh, tasty, and with good ingredients.
