  • "we found this restaurant using TripAdvisor. It had very high ratings. We got there on a rainy Friday night they were not very many people there we started to go somewhere else because of the lack of people but decided to say because of the rain.it ended up being wonderful meal in our waitress was very nice and helpful."

  • "Great downtown location. Convenient to Bank of America stadium, hotels, other restaurants & bars. There is some on-street parking available after 8pm. Otherwise, patrons can park at the Holiday Inn. Though a bit noisy; high ceilings and not much fabric or soft furniture to absorb sound, it was a welcoming spot. My companion and I enjoyed the Caesar salad which we shared. I had lobster ravioli which was delicious and had a good texture. The lobster sauce was creamy and flavorful. My companion had seafood crepes, which were also delicious. They, too, had a creamy, but light, lobster sauce. The portion size was ideal. Not too large, nor skimpy. Caffe Siena is a restaurant which we plan to visit again when in Charlotte."

  • "We had 5 people doing a 3pm Segway Tour downtown for a special birthday gift. We wanted a restaurant near the lightrail, with good food, and drink. Everyone loved their meals and it was very enjoyable. The menu includes a nice array of choices. We ate early 6pm so it was nice that it was not crowded and we received great service."

  • "Didn't realize that this restaurant was part of a hotel - so the food wasn't quite as good as the menu made it appear. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite."

  • "Stopped by Cafe Sienna for first time in about 12 months since I've changed buildings and it's not as nearby as it once was. They have retained the lunch buffet which seemed to still be popular as about 10 people were in line when we arrived. For $10.95, it's a good value for Uptown Charlotte. Wait Staff was accommodating and very polite. As we went up for a salad and a bowl of soup, there was warm bread waiting for us at the table. Had forgotten how good the buffet was. Will come back. Thank you..."

  • "Had reservations and dined during CIAA tournament because it was close to Spirit Square (Duke Energy Theater). Encouraged by staff in advanced that they had a limited menu (very thoughtful of them) and when we arrived we were encourage to try again due to the limited menu and "craziness" of the crowd and reorganizing of the furniture. We still enjoyed ourselves very much. We were in the corner by the window, where people watching was fun. The food was delicious. The waiter was pleasant. My only beef was with the wine. I ordered a 9 oz glass, but feel strongly that it was NOT 9 oz. I asked the waiter but he insisted that it was 9 oz. No way! I did not debate it any further and paid for 9 oz, but I still felt a bit cheated."

  • "The food was delicious but after my meal I still was hungry. I had to go across the street to Fuel Pizza to get something else to eat."

  • "If your night out includes catching a show up-town, park and have dinner at Cafe Sienna then walk around the corner to the Belk theatre. Great start to a wonderful evening."

  • "Wine was great, very quiet because almost no one was there, we were there early in order to attend symphony, bruschetta as appetizer was delicious, salads arrived before appetizer was even half finished. The pear and proscuitto salad was wonderful, the tomatoes in the salade caprese were obviously out of season and we probably should have just passed. A misunderstanding in our order resulted in the main course not being what we thought we were receiving. It was just so so and probably colored by the fact that it wasn't what we thought we were getting. Dessert was delicious. They honored the Symphony Preferred restaurant discount despite management not knowing about it in advance."

  • "Looking for good value and a good meal in the Uptown area, Caffe Siena is the restaurant for you. I found the service to be very welcoming and attenative, while the food met expectations, and I must say the Lobster Macaronni and Cheese even exceeded. Great restaurant to sit down with friends, enjoy the drink special, and get your chat on."

  • "The wine list needs some help. This is my second time dining at this location and the menu always looks so good! Every time we eat there, it doesn't quite live up the hype."

  • "went for Restaurant Week and was so pleasantly delighted with food that was just memorable.. started off with great hot rolls, entree of short rib and blackened salmon was superb. my meal called for mashed potatoes but they let me swap out the lobster mac and cheese which was super. the carmel apple canoli was fresh and invitingly different. will be back!"

  • "My wife and I ate here for restaurant week and were wonderfully surprised on the results. It was very busy butour server Jolene was attentive and cheery and had a good knowledge of the wine list. We fell in love with the sea bass cake (although the slaw left something to be desired) for the app, and enjoyed both the duck and beef short rib dishes. However, the lavender creme brulee stole the show as I watched my wife lick the bottom of the dish. Overall a great experience!"

  • "The vibe is the restaurant is good - comfortable seating nice low lighting - staffs appearance and behavior is professional Food came out quickly what should have been cold was cold what should have been hot was hot. Food came out prepared as ordered and was VERY GOOD! A great find! Many may steer clear since it is inside of the Holiday Inn - I say don't miss out on this one! Our compliments to the chef!"

  • "My husband and I checked out Caffe Siena during Restaurant Week. They had a great menu. I really enjoyed the poached pear salad and my husband's duck was cooked to perfection."

  • "The restaurant is located in the Holiday Inn which was nice because they validated parking. The restaurant is very open in design and the tables nicely spaced. The wait staff was very conscientious about our needs. The food was prepared beautifully and presentation was wonderful. The music was a little loud, however, we totally enjoyed our meal."

  • "The waitress was lovely and helpful. The food was delicious, the presentation grand, and a nice portion size for fine dining (my husband was full) ."

  • "My overall experience was great. The service was perfect and we were greeted by 4 people throughout the dinner. While this may be a negative for some who would prefer to be left alone it didn't bother us. The staff was helpful and friendly. The she-crab soup was amazing and possibly the best in Charlotte. The entrees were slightly over cooked, both a fish entree and a steak entree, but the flavors were great. The lavender creme brulee was amazing and maybe the best creme brulee in the city. The tables are street view, which was a draw for me, but can be a negative if you aren't into people watching. They have noise cancelling windows so you don't hear the traffic. 80's music and a quiet relaxed dining room. They validate parking."

  • "Parking was a breeze! They validate :-) Just park in the Holiday Inn. Parking in uptown can be horrible but not here. The staff was friendly and so was management. My food was great. Thinking about having a large group gathering there."

  • "Worst experience ever. Took over 5 minutes to be greeted by our server. She was very pleasant but unprofessional. The food was terrible. My filet was more like sirloin, very tough. She crab soup was good. Unfortunately, had to send my entree back because it was inedible. Manager didn't seemed bothered that we were unhappy. Will not be going back."

  • "So we had been here before, but it had been several years. After reviewing many menus online, this was my wife's choice to enjoy a birthday dinner out before the Bobcats/Heat game. I feel it's important to mention that the restaurant and bar are tied in with the uptown Holiday Inn. Please don't let that distract you. It is beautifully decorated, open kitchen, well staffed and most importantly the food was excellent. Sea bass was done to perfection. Flavors were spot on. Overall a great dinner and we will return."

  • "My husband and I went to Caffe Siena for restaurant week. He had the she crab soup, the pork tenderloin medallions with chorizo, and the chocolate cherry cheesecake. I had the sea bass cake, the duck breast with mushroom pesto, and the tiramisu. All of my selections were delightful, but all of his selections were even better. The service was attentive, and we enjoyed having a table that faced college street so we could watch the city go by as we enjoyed our lovely meal. We also added a bottle of wine to dinner - they had about 5 white options and 7 or 8 red options, by the bottle only, but all priced at $25 or $30, which we thought was very reasonable. Service was friendly. Validated parking in the Holiday Inn Garage."

  • "We went here for Charlotte's restaurant week, and it was bit disappointing. The menu looked great, and I was excited to give it a try, but nothing was outstanding and some dishes were actually pretty bad. Steak ordered medium rare was medium well, and the salmon was dry and fishy. Appetizers were better, the she crab soup was flavorful and the mozzarella and tomato salad was light but delicious. It was an average dining experience, but I was expecting more."

  • "Service was rushed even though there weren't many customers. Food was very bland. It's actually the restaurant in a Holiday Inn."

  • "I went for resturant week due to the menu looking fantastic. While the selection was fantastic the execution in some areas was lacking. I had the she crab soup, which was wonderful and worth the entire visit, the sea bass with "mashed potatoes", they were far from mashed, and the saffron sauce that was on the sea bass was watery. The dessert i had chosen and was excited about was a lavender creme brulee... the sugar was burnt, the eggs were more scrambled than creamed, and the taste of lavander was absent. It was the most disapointing portion. My husband on the other hand, he had the same she crab soup, the filet mignon, which was wonderful, and a cherry chocolate cheese cake that was fantastic. A very hit or miss experience for us."

  • "We booked during restaurant week hoping to find an unknown gem of a restaurant. What we found was a lower end hotel restaurant trying to pretend to be fine dining. Menu was diverse but portions were child sized and devoid of any complex flavor. Meat tastes like meat. There was loud music playing and wait staff rushed us through the meal. We were in and out in 45 min with a three course meal! Would not recommend for any special occasion, date night, or anything like that, but if you just want plain portion controlled food, it is a nice place"

  • "Went for Charlotte Restaurant week. thought the portions were a little on the light side....the service was good but we felt pushed through. We order all 3 courses at once and it was once you finished the other was there...like you were rushed. not a good feeling for the price we paid!"

  • "Four friends went out to dinner prior to a hockey game. Caffe Siena was a great find and wonderful place to start our evening. Our server, Angel, was very attentive to us. She provided the drink and dinner specials and gave us time to place our order. The pineapple martini special was fantastic! We split two appetizers: Bruschetta and Calamari Fritti. Both were fantastic; nothing was left on the plate. Dinner was fantastic; we all tried different entrees. I had the Frutti Di Mare which was very tasty and plentiful. My husband had the Chicken Marsala and enjoyed it very much. All in all, the dining experience was wonderful. We would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. We will be back again for sure."

  • "I called to make a reservation and check on the menu and was told Chicken Marsela was great. When we got there there was a New Year's Eve special for $50.00 per person and there was nothing that my husband or I would eat on this menu( All beef, pork or salmon). I was very disappointed because we were in from out of town and were looking forward to the type of meal that was represented in the menu. The staff said that there were no other options for us so we left. It was interesting that there was almost no one at Sienna but most of the other restaurants in the the downtown area were very lively. We found another place to eat about a block away and had a great dinner. So I could not recommend anything about this place."

  • "Advertised $50 pre-fix menu looked great. Main course was delicious. Our waitress, Tamika, was not. We were shown more love by David (Hispanic Daa-veed) than we did from Tamika. There were 3 in our party but only 2 of the 3 drinks initially came out. The 3rd took another 10-15 minutes yet we could see the bartender the whole time. Who doesn't make all 3 drinks for one table at the same time (unless perhaps they weren't all inputted into the system). I never received the glass of water from Tamika until after dinner (the 3rd time I had asked, and she gestered as if I was putting her out by asking. She never checked on us to ask how our entrees were. They weren't that busy but the food came out luke warm..."
