Diner Reviews
  • "When checking in for our reservation, the host was using a pencil and a notebook for reservations. Not the computer. That is why it took so long for us to get our points. The host was not very friendly. We were a little early and he was not amused. Once seated, our meal was good but the service was outstanding. Gabriel was her name. She made our experience very enjoyable. Ask for her every time. Upon leaving, we asked the same host if he was the manager as we wanted to tell him how great our server was and he was even more rude than at the beginning. He should not be greeting customers with that attitude. That aside, this is a good place with a great view of the ocean."

  • "We went to luna Rosa for my birthday. Our server rushed us and did nothing for my birthday, not even a small cupcake. With the price we paid for our just ok food, that was not even hot ! We will not be back!!! But I'm sure with all the snow birds here they could care less!!!"

  • "we had a 7:00 reservation and they made us sit outside in torrential rain a d lightening with only a canopy overhead in front of a clothing store. also there was a dead bee in our broccoli Rabe."

  • "We say outside in the rain and had a wonderful time. Right across from Delray Beach. We had the burrata appetizer and the "fish sticks" - both excellent. For my main I had the pasta in vodka sauce. Vodka sauce was ok - not great. Husband had the prawns and they were fantastic. The are HUGE and flavorful. My favorite part is the roasted garlic they bring at the beginning with the bread. We will be back. Overall, an excellent experience. Service was great too."

  • "My first visit will not be my last. From the incredible crusty bread served with roasted garlic and olive oil..my palate was smiling. I had the most delicious veal chop pounded thin served parmagiana style. Pasta was al dente perfect with a wonderful tomato sauce. My date had an incredible fish dish. The service was incredible and friendly. I can't wait to go back. Oh, Did I mention the open air seating and the view of the Atlantic!"

  • "We were introduced to this restaurant some years ago by our close friends. We have been smitten with it ever since. We are never disappointed. Love to be there more often but as we live in NY it's difficult to make this place our usual "hangout" so to speak. Nevertheless when we are south in the area we make a point or should I say "bee-line" to the place for their excellent food. So glad to have discovered this place as we would never have known and thanks to our dear friends."

  • "You can count on Caffe Luna Rosa for professional & friendly service and excellent food in a relaxed, easy-going environment. This is a favorite for my wife and me - all selections are prepared to order and everything is fresh. This is the best value Italian Restaurant is South East Florida. Plan ahead, make a reservation and enjoy your dining experience - you will not be sorry!"

  • "The reasonably priced Luna Rosa never disappoints with it's presentation and amazing tasting food. Their brunch is no exception. Great location, close to the beach for that after dinner walk."

  • "This restaurant is a great local find. The menu selections are great as is the wine list. On a crowded night, service can be a bit slow but that gives you a bit more time to drink wine and chat with your friends! Stay away from the end cut on the Prim Rib, it was dry and tough. My fish (snapper) was excellent and my husband loved the veal milanese."

  • "Not impressed with their seating and waitstaff is only fair. They should be better for that price point and dining should be more pleasurable. Filtered water should be free with $35 -38 dinner entrees, especially with ordering appetizer, etc. Food tasted good but substituting pasta for rice 6$ up charge. Felt like they were nickeling & diming or price gouging. Example: No prices on cocktail list..."

  • "I have never left a negative review like this. Place was recommended by friends. We had a 9pm dinner reservation. went to valet & they close at 10pm. We were late being seated & the manager was rude to some people who had a reservation. We were finally seated. It took 20 minutes for someone to take a drink order and another 15 to fill it. Drink came out wrong and in the tiniest glass. Another 15 minutes to order. I had a caesar salad & Mahi. My wife had the seafood special. Salad was mushy like it was day old. Mahi had a gallon of salt on it. Could barely eat it. Wife said seafood special was not great and didn't finish it. Waiter never checked after food was delivered. Getting 2nd drink took an act of god. Avoid this place."

  • "Went to celebrate my dad 80th birthday. Presentation was excellent. Nice touch with the warm bread and garlic cloves in oil. Good selection to choose from. Told the host about my dad's birthday being from Chicago most restaurants comp a dessert with candle but this place doesn't. But they did come by and sing happy Birthday to him. Overall good but a little pricey compared to Chicago's nicer restaurants. Ideal spot across from the ocean."

  • "THIS VERY POPULAR RESTAURANT CAME HIGHLY RECCOMENDED. BOY, WERE WE DISAPPOINTED! FIRST COURSE CAPRESE SALAD $10. FOR TWO SLICES OF TOMATO AND TWO TINY SLICES OF CHEESE. THEN CAME THE VEAL PARM AND SPAGETTI. THE VEAL WAS GRISLY AND FATTY. NOT AT ALL EDIBLE. THE SPAGETTI WAS LESS THAN AVERAGE ESPECIALLY AS A $6 EXTRA ON TOP OF THE $30 VEAL DISH. DID I COMPLAIN? NO. THE WAITRESS WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND AFTER WE PLACED OUR ORDER AND THE BUSSERS DIDN'T SPEAK ENGLISH."

  • "Waitperson brought steak medallions well done rather than rare---after arguing brought new thicker medallions blood raw--- when confronted said they can't control the temp--obviously wrong & rude---would make no further adjustment & basically ruined the evening."

  • "We were a reservation for four and we got a nice table inside, away from the rush of the street. Our server was courteous and friendly...one of the people in our party did not care for the food that was served as it was cold and not particularly appetizing...no worries. It was returned and another entree was offered. Otherwise the food was delicious and flavorful... My husband and I waited for the other couple at the bar and I found service there equally friendly and on target...just the right amount of interest and the right amount of leaving us alone! Thanks for a great night. Will definitely come back. You need to include a category for good food to your recommendations in number 2."

  • "Although the food was good at Cafe Luna Rosa, the billed atmosphere was not. If you wish to be crammed into a very small space and have car and bus fumes with your dinner, this is the place. The view of the ocean was across A1A and through a pavilion under construction. Our waiter had the personality of a wet blanket. Won't return, even for the food."

  • "We were here this past Tuesday evening. It was very crowded but we were seated on time. My wife ordered Linguini alla Vongole and I ordered Linguini Amalfitana. Both seafood dishes with garlic and oil or wine. My dish came out with less than two forkfuls of Linguini while my wife and the others at our table received at least five times the amount that I did. The waiter took my dish back and within five minutes it was returned with a sufficient amount of Linguini. The worst part though was that both my dish and my wife's dish were tasteless. There was no garlic taste or any other notable flavor. It was just bland pasta with some sea food. A very disappointing experience and I doubt that we will return."

  • "We have dined at Luna Rosa many times before; and so we brought our friends who were visiting from NY for the oceanside atmosphere. The food was good, not great, but too many times the server was called over: lobster came without utensils, guest's chicken was cold first time - sent back and then was okay. Luna Rosa has some tasty meals but comes with some caveats, maybe moreso during season."

  • "Wonderful experience. Food was unique and thoroughly pleasing. Service was friendly and constant' never felt forgotten yet not overbearing. Local construction should result in a better scenic look toward the ocean. Hoped for a full moon but bushes blocked view' may be removed for sheltered overlook soon."

  • "We had a wonderful dining experience. Great menu...lots of delicious choices. The fish was cooked to perfection and they were accommodating to substitute a vegetable. The service was excellent...out server was attentive and really on the ball Will be n Back again very soon!"

  • "Parking is atrocious. Had a reservation for 7:30, but got seated around 8 with another couple. Seating was on the sidewalk in front of neighboring business storefront window, so we ate with 2 strangers and a mannequin. The food was good, but not worth the downside. Oh, but they do let you have unlimited water- for a dollar."

  • "Caffe Luna Rosa was an excellent food experience for this past Valentine's Day dinner. Our waiter was not so personal but that didn't detract from the overall experience. Very well prepared and tasty food, good vibe and feel and the scene with the beach in the backdrop added to the experience. Highly recommended"

  • "The food at Caffe Luna Rosa was fine, the setting beside the beach was lovely. Our experience however was colored by the RUDE way we were met as we were getting out of our car in front of the restaurant by a man ( the owner?) who barked at us not to even bother getting out of our car because they were full. (Almost all of the tables at5 PM were empty and remained that way for a long time!). When we told him we HAD a reservation, he simply turned away. He didn't tell my husband that there was valet parking available so it took him 20 minutes to find a parking spot. Our waiter Gabriel " Valentino" was unattentive and overall, we would never return to the #3 rated restaurant in Delray."

  • "Cafe Luna Rosa is great for breakfast and lunch. So I expected the same for.dinner. Wrong.! There was a special menu with 4or 5 options I had the mahi with crab over rice. The rice was cold The fish tasteless. My husband had veal that he HATED. The house Merlot was 11.75 and the Tap water which I never imagined cost a thing Was 2.00 wish I had my $100,00 back The moon was full, it was a warm evening and The wait staff was excellent so it wasn't all bad"

  • "We want to like this place. It's in the neighborhood, food is good, atmosphere is nice. The service, not so much. Menus arrived, bread and water delivered. (Beware there is a charge for water...yes plain water.) Our server recited the specials, took our cocktail order, and asked what we wanted to order. All in one breath. We hadn't even opened our menus at that point . Our entrees arrived before our salads, and the food runners had such a limited knowledge of the English language they could not understand the problem. A second glass of wine never arrived. The server said she couldn't remember the type of wine I ordered. We've eaten here many times and want to continue, but I think we're done."

  • "The food was good--lots to choose from and tasty. The restaurant was extremely noisy--there was a party of 8 across from us and at times, we couldn't hear ourselves talk. It's casual and convenient."

  • "We asked for an outdoor table for 6. Got a round table facing the ocean but there is construction of some sort of building which obstructed our view. The noise stopped at 6. We had happy hour before 6 at our table befor our regular dinner which was very good. We were charged for water and the vegetables we ordered instead of the rice. Both were removed. We had a good time but will not return."

  • "Extensive menu with too many good choices. Food is excellent and reasonable. My snapper Francesce and husbands veal Marsala delish. Have been here for brunch several times and it is one of the best and most popular in Delray. Great location across the street from Delray Beach. Service was friendly and good but too fast. Still had a couple bites of my appetizer left when food when entree delivered to table. Was out of the restaurant in under an hour with appetizer and entree and glass of wine. Only complaint."
