Diner Reviews
  • "I already love Italian restos and this one was wonderful. seated in the back area so it was nice and private but outdoor dining would have been awesome also. Black linguini: Slightly too spicy for my taste but I suppose we could have sub'd it with alfredo sauce. Lobster was ok but still a good value. Ensalada Linda was an amazing salad - I love the bite size, perfect salad by itself. We had added chicken to it which was fried and tough but again, I supposed we could have asked for the side of chicken to be backed. The owner or manager was super enthusiastic and awesome but one of the waiters spoke very little and didn't seem like he wanted to be there. Maybe he was just super overwhelmed or tired. Service was fast & appreciated."

  • "It's ok food but VERY loud (so you had to scream for any kind of conversation)"

  • "This is a very compact restaurant attached to a small Best Western hotel. Nothing too inventive on the menu -- mostly standard pasta dishes -- but the offerings are well-prepared and delicious. Portion sizes are just right. Tables are small and close together, and at peak lunch hour you have to strain to hear your dining companion. Service is friendly and non-intrusive. All around, a good experience."

  • "We stayed at the Walforf Astoria and found this nearby. It was great Italian food at a very reasonable price. Nice ambiance and highly recommend to anyone. Great neighborhood find."

  • "this is the second time I've dined there, the third for my sister-and we love, love the food and atmosphere. However, they only ever have one server for the entire dining room (at least when we've been there) and it is simply not enough. We ended up ordering at the same time as the entire dining room as well-I think due to the fact that the server was stretched so thin-and so waited for almost an hour for our food. The server was lovely and doing her best, they just need more staff there as they seem to always be busy!"

  • "My wife and I were looking for a good Italian restaurant near E42nd street during a quick visit to NYC, and were very pleased with this find. Straightforward classic Italian dishes done very well (at least based on our choices). We would be happy to dine here again!"

  • "When I dined here, it was quiet and calm. The server was prompt and friendly. I ordered the caprese salad, branzino appetizer, broccoli rabe side dish, and finished with the tiramisu. All just fine and well prepared! The branzino was especially delicious, not overly salty and with just the right amount of grilled charred flavor. If I'm back in Midtown for work, I'll be back for a quick lunch or dinner."

  • "Chose this restaurant for its location (around the corner from our hotel) but would recommend it to anyone visiting the city for a play or just a day of fun. Ambience was cozy and the staff were friendly and accommodating to our requests. Will definitely visit again."

  • "This is the perfect neighborhood gem when you're in the mood for some good Italian food. I ordered the black linguine with a half Lobster (minus the shrimp) and it was the perfect portion and was DELICIOUS. Good wine selection with a great price range. Friendly service. Will be returning!"

  • "Good food and solid value but service was very slow. We were one of 3 parties in the place and they forgot one of our appetizers."

  • "when your friends/colleagues who came from italy recommend an italian restaurant in NYC you know its good. enough said. food is authentic and is not regional italian, but rather offers dishes that are typical in rome, and northern italy, and sicily for example. food is very well priced and delicious."

  • "Pleasant restaurant and welcoming atmosphere, but it was a disappointment. Food was OK - interesting menu, but execution was so-so. Very poor service for a quiet Tuesday evening; we waited for everything: the first visit by our server; drink orders; a glass of water; food; dessert. The only thing that came quickly was the bill - before we had been served our dessert!"

  • "Very quaint place. We were there at 5:00 when they opened for dinner. Only one other table showed up while we were there. So it was very quiet. Not the most elaborate decor by any means, but nothing wrong with it either. Food was very good. Overall felt very personal due to quaintness of this restaurant."

  • "A nice choice for Italian in Midtown East. Popular for lunch. Dinner is about $50 pp but as good as some more expensive places. "

  • "We found this restaurant from our hotel. We were greeted by the owner and when we ordered a really nice bottle of wine he paid special attention to us. We both had pastas and they were outstanding. We recommended it to our friend that lives in the area "

  • "We selected this restaurant due to its proximity to the hotel we were staying at. My wife and I were visiting our son and his girlfriend. We had a mixed review. My wife thought the food was ok but not exceptional. My son indicated the restaurant was too pricey compared to other Italian places in the area. I didn't find the food outstanding since the taste was not to my liking. In fact, my son finished over half of my meal. Thus, I would not recommend restaurant to any of my friends since there are others in the City where you get better tasting food."

  • "I have walked by this charming restaurant for years. I am so glad that I decided to finally indulge with relatives from out of town. The food was excellent, served with perfect timing and the portions were perfect. The space is adorable, aside from the fact that we sat very closely to four very disruptive. loud and large women who obviously thought that making a spectacle of oneself is what one obviously does when they are in "the big city." I will know now to request a more intimate part of this charming restaurant when I drop by again."

  • "Authentic Italian food at a fair price - European ambience - cozy. Grrat find in a area predisposed to chains, delis and overpriced expense account places."

  • "The restaurant was extremely hot. We rolled up our sleeves, asked them to turn the heat down and they did not do anything. The service was slow. The Caesar salad was bland, butThe pasta was very good. We got our bill and they hot us for a 20%, yes 20% gratuity since we had 5 people. I ordered two bottles of wine and we had expensive dishes and the service was less than stellar. I refused to pay the 20%. They brought me a menu where it states in really small print that parties of 5 or more they add a gratuity (they do not have a percentage). I refused to pay it and he did remove it. I left 15% which was generous considering the service level. A hearty tip with two bottles of wine on the bill. This restaurant experience was disappointing."
