"What a find! Went here before a concert at BAM and they were so considerate of getting us out on time for the show. Simply some of the best Italian food I've had outside Italy. Fresh ingredients and true country style Italian cuisine. We will definitely be back! Most diners were theater goers like us at the time, but with such a rustic, warm feel to the place it would make an excellent romantic date night out as well!"

"Pros: near BAM Harvey, cozy and inviting place, decent arugula salad (other than the parmesan)

Cons: it's not really Italian, with pasta we would never order again (the rigatoni with eggplant and linguine with shrimp): odd-tasting sauces and poor texture. I am sure the chicken etc. would be a better choice. It took three requests to order a glass of prosecco, so I think they get a bit distracted when they're busy."

"Caffe e Vino is one of the closest sit-down restaurants to the BAM Harvey theater, which is Caffe e Vino's saving grace. (At a recent dinner, we were seated next to the star whom we had tickets to see after the meal.) Nothing is wrong with the restaurant's Italian food, but nothing is inspired either. Consider dinner to be fuel that will get you through a theatrical evening ahead. It's sufficient, nothing more."

"Perfect little place for anyone going to BAM (Brooklyn Academy of Music), or visiting Brooklyn Tech or the nearby hospital. It was charming and the food was very good - who knew such a lovely place existed in Fort Greene?!"

"They scored an "A" in the city health-department inspection. They've stuffed a few too many tables into the space, but but somehow it's not too noisy, and the cramping ... well, if it helps them keep prices down, OK. And the prices are down. Great value, good-tasting food, service just a tiny bit scattered. An excellent choice for pre-BAM."

"Perhaps the best restaurant within walking distance of BAM, this charming little Italian trattoria is only a block or two away. It serves wonderful pasta and other dishes -- not your standard fare, but a cut above. Highly recommended."
