Service was impeccable! We have always had a great dinner here and the wine list is fun and reasonably priced. Flank steak and the fillet were to die for - highly recommend it - can't wait to try the pizza there too

I love Caffe Dolce. I also love that it is only 3 blocks away from my home. My husband and I come here not only for romantic dinners, but sometimes at the end of the evening to play a game of Scrabble over beer or wine or gelato. I come here early in the mornings before work to write, pot of tea and delicious breakfast (granola with berries? baguette with cheddar, tomato & bacon? fried egg sandwich?) at my elbow. I meet friends on the patio for an afternoon drink or appetizers. To sum up, Caffe Dolce is a fabulous place to hang out--either alone or with friends--and offers delectable, creative, classy meals at all times of the day. YUM.

We must have driven past Caffe Dolce many times on our trips to Missoula, but it was the outside tables filled with customers that drew our attention this time. It was still daylight when we arrived and the hostess wanted to seat us inside. My first impression was too industrial and noisy, so we asked to be seated outside. We had a very pleasant meal. The pasta with brown butter and mizithra was lacking cheese (and butter for that matter), but everything else was exceptional. The server went to great lengths to find the perfect beer for me. Overall, a great experience, and when leaving noticed the atmosphere inside was much better with candlelight.

Cafe Dolce always offers fresh and locally sourced food. The preparations are on par (or even better than) fare found in restaurants in much larger cities. Freshly made pastas are always fantastic (morels when in season are a treat). Fresh seafood and meats are also features worth checking out. Salads are creative and tasty (I tried one with sorrel and radish). They also have an excellent wine list that leans heavily towards Italy. And gelato for dessert is a must. The building looks like it was imported from Italy, with hand painted frescos on the high ceilings and a side room full of imported Italian pottery. It can get loud inside when full, but there are some quieter corners and outside seating. All in all, a must try when in Missoula.

This was a birthday dinner for my partner so naturally I made a reservation. When we arrived we had to wait a few minutes before a host/hostess came up front to greet us. I let them know we had a reservation and he said it would be a minute while they moved some things around and set up the table. Wait, what? You have to set up a place for my reserved table? Not okay. We were seated at a two top right next to the door to the patio and the door to the kitchen. I was upset by this. It was noisy, we were surrounded by constant movement, and we felt like we were in the way. Our reservation was overlooked. I want to express that the server who took care of us did a fine job. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. Great food.

Had stumbled on this place by coincidence last time we were in town and purposely went back this time. We were not disappointed. Ambience is great, it's a local place in a neighborhood that appears nice for after dinner walks. They have a beautiful patio area and great indoor seating too. Very unique items for those wanting to try something new but also have a few standard fare items for those less adventurous. Huge wine menu. Great homemade gelato for dessert. We will come back next time we are in town and already told our friends who are visiting in another week to check it out too!!

Hard to write a good review as we were disspointed by the welcoming : although we booked far in adance, ask for an outdoor dining on the terrace and it was a relatively late hour (8 pm) when we arrived we were placed inside and at a table for 4 despite we were five (so has to be reallly close to each other) - that I could understand if we haden't booked in advance but that was a dissapointement. Except for that I have to admit food was good and service excellent.

As a visitor to Missoula, we were pleased to find a restaurant with a varied menu of well prepared food (meat, fish, salads and pasta). The service was excellent, the varied and thoughtful wine and beer list and the unique building in a residential neighborhood all made for a lovely evening. In summer, the terrace is particularly inviting.

I went with my sister and sister in law. They are from out of town and love the look and ambiance of the place. For me it is too noisy and my pasta with morel diner was strange. I cannot imagine putting asparagus with morels and I did not like the lemon in the dish although my sister in law did like it. We both asked that the asparagus be left off the dish. I had taken them last year and both guests thought the pasta was outstanding then. Not so impressed this year. The service was pretty good but for dinner I would like to have seen tidier, more 'uniform' clothing.

The place was very busy but we had made reservations a few weeks prior. Our waitress was very nice but the food came out very slow. We did not have appetizers but did have salads which took about 45 minutes to get. We were there for 2 hours before we finally got our dinner. Overall it was a pleasant experience, and the food was outstanding but it would only go again if I had several hours available for dinner.

We were 15 minutes last for our reservation (we're out of towner's and didn't realize how long a walk it was from where we were staying). We called to let them know, and despite the crowd, our table was waiting. The food was quite delicious- generous portions, fresh ingredients. Service was a tad slow but I'm sure that was due to the fact that there were many big groups dining that night. But our waitress was very attentive and once she brought out those sublime dinner rolls, we were more than content to wait as long as needed! We are grateful for their kindness, and would recommend this wonderful restaurant to any and all!

Our server seemed distracted. After a couple of us asked questions, she walked away, without checking to see whether we were in fact ready to order. We all looked at each other, exchanging perplexed expressions. After we had finished our entrees, she didn't ask if anyone wanted dessert or coffee. As for the food, I had one of the pizzas. Unfortunately, its crust was so tough that I could not bite it and even had trouble cutting it with knife and fork. Incidentally, I would have ordered a salad if the menu had included one that would suffice as an entrée. None had meat or an option of adding it. One member of our party did order a salad as her entrée, but it looked awfully small. All in all, the restaurant was a disappointment.

We were happy with our dinner the other night. The food was delicious and, frankly, we found the portion sizes to be almost a relief. We didn't get a plate of pasta with 5 pounds of food on it. The dining room is in a large, industrial-sized room, so it was loud and somewhat chaotic with some kids running around. Not a place for a romantic dinner. Still, rated high for the high quality food, unique menu items, and our server was fantastic. A bit overpriced too.

When we arrive on time for our Open Table reservation, the fellow at the front, said "he never heard of Open Table". It was everyone for yourself in a crowded lunch environment. When we found a table for the two of us, a man came over and commandeered it for his party of four. We took a table in the rear corner. We ordered at the counter and it took awhile for our food to be delivered to our table minus any silverware, which apparently you have to get for yourself. The food was good, but the effort in getting it was not worth it.

I have been to to Cafe Dolce many times--usually for brunch/lunch. This time it was dinner and I took out of town guests. They dine in Billings often and around the country (Las Vegas, Seattle, etc.-she is a gourmet cook). Both were very impressed with smells, taste and visual sensations. They continued to comment about the wonderful food all the remainder of their visit. Thanks.

Had a wonderful meal at Cafe Dolce. On race weekends we look for a place with a tasty menu, and one that has a good mix of carbs and protein. All the meals were delicious and had the right mixture of carbs/protein. One small mix up on orders brought us an extra dish of pasta, which my racer promptly downed. He preformed quite well the next day so it must have worked!

I love this restaurant for all occasions! To start, they make THE BEST coffee in Missoula and breakfast is delicious and simple. Lunch is equally as good and it's a great place to meet - it's big enough that if you show up for lunch rush you still usually don't have to wait but there are always lots of people making the place feel lively. Dinner is amazing - the pasta is homemade and you can tell! The atmosphere changes in the evening to become very calm and cozy. I love that you can dress up and not feel out if place but you can also just wear a hoody and jeans! I come here with my friends, date night with my husband, with my 1year old, and sometimes just by myself. It's always great... Food, staff, environment... Love it!

We've eaten here before, never noticed so many crying kids though. Kids are great, but when a meal is $50.00 or more per person, having a kid friendly grilled cheese etc menu spoils the mood. I'll head somewhere else next time. The tables are sticky, perhaps they just need some care.

My husbands parents visited from out of town and we took them to Cafe Dolce for their first night in Missoula. We ordered the: artisan cheese board- 3 cheeses (small portions), came with fig jam, and grilled bread (burnt bread) each ordered a glass of wine- I had the house red which for $5 a glass is very good, my husband ordered the house white he said it was too sweet to drink I had the lamb gluten free pasta with mint, it was fantastic and I would order it again!
