We came here cuz I wanted breakfast and husband wanted lunch. This was a great choice. I had the Italian cheese scramble; mild Italian sausage, fontina cheese, 'shrooms and tomatoes. On the side was a delicious serving of polenta - a great change of the normal house potatoes, plus 2 pieces of toast. Husband was happy with his Italian sub, filled with four different meats, cheese, tomatoes and fresh lettuce.

We enjoyed our meal at Caffe Delucchi. The Spinaci salad was very good with the warm balsamic dressing, bacon, and pecans. The fettucini with prosciutto was also good, as was the ribeye steak. The tiramisu was just average.

I am very satisfied with our brunch here last Saturday morning. We were running late, and I called to change the reservation from 10:00 to 10:30 AM without a problem. The wait staff were very friendly, and the food was excellent. I would like to return and try them for dinner sometime. Great place to know about!

Things started off fine when the hostess gave me a table even though not everyone from my brunch reservation had arrived yet. But that was the last act of kindness we were afforded. We had to flag down the waitress after almost 15 min to place an order of crab cakes Benedict and coffee (everyone had the same thing). Pretty simple. 20 minutes later (I timed it), we still had no coffees. Multiple attempts to politely flag the waitress & make eye contact were snubbed. I finally walked to the hostess to ask for coffees. When they arrived, I regretted asking; it was more like dishwater than coffee. 20 minutes later the food came (45 min. after ordering, if you're keeping score). Passable crab cakes and a few potatoes. Meh. Avoid this place.

We ate at 6:30 on a Saturday night. Food was fresh and delicious, service was good. It wasn't crowded. Liked being able to sit by an open window, perhaps even better than sitting outside on the street. Lots of foot traffic in that busy North Beach area. Lots of restaurant choices. We were very happy with our choice.

Nice, small restaurant. Food was great. They charged a $15 corkage fee without letting me know first. They took the charge off when I explained that opentable advertised them as byob/free corkage. I just thought by principle that restaurants should let you know before they open your bottle that they charge just about as much as a meal! They were accommodating in the end so I recommend their restaurant.

All the other positive reviews are spot on correct. This is a great place to go and eat away from all of the busy and congested places down by Fisherman's Wharf. If you are staying down by the wharf it is worth the ~20 min walk (be prepared for a few hills). The food was fresh, hot, and homemade. The service was friendly and very welcoming. Prices were moderate and we were so glad we didn't stay down by the wharf and settle for Denny's or IHOP. After breakfast at Delucchi's we cut straight over on Columbus to Market street and enjoyed the flea markets on the waterfront then up to 5th street to visit the huge inside mall downtown SFO. Caffe Delucchi's started our morning off right and we'd absolutely visit again next time!

We visited Caffe Delucchi a few years ago, and there was a mix-up in the food my guest thought she ordered, and what was delivered. The mix-up was corrected immediately and we had a great evening. We have gone back every time we visit SF, and have never had any other issues, but have always had great meals. When the weather is nice there are tables on the sidewalk which can be very pleasant - North Beach is always great for people watching. The wines are great, the specials are always worth considering. I haven't been for breakfast or lunch, only dinner, and would recommend to everyone. The wait staff are friendly, jeans or a suit acceptable, and both are equally welcomed!

The North Beach area offers so many dining options for good Italian cuisine. Don't bother to go here. The bolognese sauce was greasy and the ravioli was not hot. The bread was pedestrian. The wine was over-priced.

Caffe Delucchi has a great ambiance. It's a very pretty room with large windows opening onto the lively scene on Columbus Avenue. Other tables around us also had tempting plates but my friend and I are still in love with their polenta gorgonzola, a fabulous combination of hot polenta topped with two poached egges, crisp bacon, honey and gorgonzola -- a dish I've never encountered anywhere else. Along with their strong, hot coffee, it's the perfect late breakfast/early lunch. One of these days, I'll have to try something else! :-) Service is friendly, charming and helpful.

We had a fantastic evening and enjoyed an outstanding dinner with sidewalk dining at Caffe Delucchi. The sauce with the Calamari was terrific and the Mista salad was a great complement. Their standard menu item of Salmon over Cheese ravioli with cherry tomatoes great but the 5 stars goes to the pepper seared yellow fin tuna. Great job Caffe Delucchi!

We were in town for a conference and looking to escape downtown. I thought of North Beach. Never expected to order pizza, but saw some on next table and went for Mediterranean. Outstanding mix of flavors, sweet caramelized onions and salty cheese. Squid cooked well if in need of salt. Service a little rocky to start--waitress brought wrong wine, then no ice bucket, then we still had to improvise. Sat outside. A bit noisy but nice for New Englanders escaping winter.

For nearly 7 years, Caffe DeLucchi was a MUST whenever we were in the Bay Area. Every place has good days and bad, but this one seems to be having an especially bad run. Food was on the lower-end of good, service was horrible and the ambiance has changed negatively. Half our dinner order was incorrect and waiter seemed off put by our suggestion he bring what we ordered. When two people visit an eatery and sit together, it's a good bet they want to eat their meals at the same time. We used to look forward to visiting Caffe DeLucchi. Not anymore!

Appetizer bruschetta was spot on. The main courses we had were solid, but not especially great. The Linguini Vongole and Pollo Parmiagano were perhaps the best, with some zip and rich flavor. The daily special was Osso Buco and although rich enough suffered a bit from the pasta it was served with which was a bit over and sticky. Similarly the Fettucini All Agnello had a flavorful lamb ragu shadowed by the pasta being overdone. In all, nice ambiance, but not as special as I expected from reviews.

I am puzzled about my experience at Caffe Delucchi. We arrived on time for our reservation to find that our table wasn't ready. A seemingly apathetic wait person made the table but forgot to tell us it was ready. After a bit, we were called over to sit. We looked over the menu and eventually were allowed to place our orders. Our appetizers were all very good, especially the scampi with polenta, cream sauce and arguella. That's when the dinner went off the rails. I ordered a grilled pork chop with gnocchi but received chicken parmigian, and when I sent it it back asking for the pork chop, received a pasta with lamb dish. By this time my sister and husband had finished their entrees and I decided not to try again. New wait person?

I made a reservation while visiting friends in North Beach. We arrived a few minutes early, and by making a reservation, we were immediately seated at the first available table. My boyfriend loves poached eggs, so I sought this spot out with their variety of benedict options. I ordered to Artichoke Hash Benedict--twas amazing. Oozing eggs over a ripe slice of tomato and artichoke hash, polenta, and oranges that smelled amazing (even for September!). Coffee was hot and served in a huge cup that never went empty. Definitely a must hit if you're in the city and jonesing for some good breakfast!

Found this on UrbanSpoon and - overall - very much enjoyed our experience. The food was very tasty, lots of menu choices, portions were generous, pricing was reasonable, etc. Two of us had the pork chop with Gnocchi and an Arugula salad. Both of us thought our meal was exceptional. The pork chop was grilled perfectly. The only downside for us was that we - a party of 5 adults - were seated at a round table that would have been good for 4, but was too tight for 5. Everyone waiting also queued up right behind us. We had a reservation, so we should have been better accommodated. There was a family of 4, with 2 children, seated at a table that would have been more appropriate for a group our size. All in all, though, we would come back again
