A word from Caffe Delucchi
Welcome to Caffe DeLucchi, where casual, comfortable dining, house made pasta and delicious wine and beer come together in the heart of North Beach.

Enjoy our weekend breakfast outside with a Bloody Mary, one of our signature sandwiches at lunch or one of our house made pasta specials at dinner. If it's a late brunch fix you need, we serve brunch until 4pm, Monday to Friday and until 2pm on the weekends.

Our wines are an approachable list of familiar, and some not so familiar, California and Italian wines. We also feature a range of Belgian and Belgian style craft beers and Soju cocktails.

Come by before or after going to Beach Blanket Babylon, before a night out in North Beach or on a sunny weekend morning.

Eat. Drink. Enjoy.

Diner Reviews
  • "Nice, small restaurant. Food was great. They charged a $15 corkage fee without letting me know first. They took the charge off when I explained that opentable advertised them as byob/free corkage. I just thought by principle that restaurants should let you know before they open your bottle that they charge just about as much as a meal! They were accommodating in the end so I recommend their restaurant."

  • "All the other positive reviews are spot on correct. This is a great place to go and eat away from all of the busy and congested places down by Fisherman's Wharf. If you are staying down by the wharf it is worth the ~20 min walk (be prepared for a few hills). The food was fresh, hot, and homemade. The service was friendly and very welcoming. Prices were moderate and we were so glad we didn't stay down by the wharf and settle for Denny's or IHOP. After breakfast at Delucchi's we cut straight over on Columbus to Market street and enjoyed the flea markets on the waterfront then up to 5th street to visit the huge inside mall downtown SFO. Caffe Delucchi's started our morning off right and we'd absolutely visit again next time!"

  • "The food was great the ambience was terrific and the service was the best. I would , and already have, recommend Cafe Delucchi to my friends and family. Great experience."

  • "We visited Caffe Delucchi a few years ago, and there was a mix-up in the food my guest thought she ordered, and what was delivered. The mix-up was corrected immediately and we had a great evening. We have gone back every time we visit SF, and have never had any other issues, but have always had great meals. When the weather is nice there are tables on the sidewalk which can be very pleasant - North Beach is always great for people watching. The wines are great, the specials are always worth considering. I haven't been for breakfast or lunch, only dinner, and would recommend to everyone. The wait staff are friendly, jeans or a suit acceptable, and both are equally welcomed!"

  • "used travelzoo voucher for this visit..very pleasant and accomodating. tiramisu was delicious and entrees were big portions. thanks!"

  • "The North Beach area offers so many dining options for good Italian cuisine. Don't bother to go here. The bolognese sauce was greasy and the ravioli was not hot. The bread was pedestrian. The wine was over-priced. "

  • "One of the best meals we have had in quite a while and er eat out often. Every thing we ate was prepared, presented and served with skill and concern. The extra bonus of Saturday night people watching in North Beach was a real treat."

  • "Main complaints: 1) Insalata Caprese was missing Balsamic and had grainy tomatoes. 2) $24 Salmon Entree had an inch wide piece of Salmon and not much else. Otherwise, nice ambience, great for warm summer dining. Service was reasonably attentive."

  • "I was visiting from San Diego, and as you all know there are great places to enjoy great food! However, San Fran did not disappoint with this gem in North Beach. I will tell all my friends and I will definitley go back. The service was great, the hostess made us feel like we were regulars. The food, to die! The wine....we had sevearl bottles and would have stayed longer if it wasn't going to Close. LOL thank you. And we'll be back!"

  • "Caffe Delucchi has a great ambiance. It's a very pretty room with large windows opening onto the lively scene on Columbus Avenue. Other tables around us also had tempting plates but my friend and I are still in love with their polenta gorgonzola, a fabulous combination of hot polenta topped with two poached egges, crisp bacon, honey and gorgonzola -- a dish I've never encountered anywhere else. Along with their strong, hot coffee, it's the perfect late breakfast/early lunch. One of these days, I'll have to try something else! :-) Service is friendly, charming and helpful. "

  • "We had a fantastic evening and enjoyed an outstanding dinner with sidewalk dining at Caffe Delucchi. The sauce with the Calamari was terrific and the Mista salad was a great complement. Their standard menu item of Salmon over Cheese ravioli with cherry tomatoes great but the 5 stars goes to the pepper seared yellow fin tuna. Great job Caffe Delucchi!"

  • "We were in town for a conference and looking to escape downtown. I thought of North Beach. Never expected to order pizza, but saw some on next table and went for Mediterranean. Outstanding mix of flavors, sweet caramelized onions and salty cheese. Squid cooked well if in need of salt. Service a little rocky to start--waitress brought wrong wine, then no ice bucket, then we still had to improvise. Sat outside. A bit noisy but nice for New Englanders escaping winter."

  • "For nearly 7 years, Caffe DeLucchi was a MUST whenever we were in the Bay Area. Every place has good days and bad, but this one seems to be having an especially bad run. Food was on the lower-end of good, service was horrible and the ambiance has changed negatively. Half our dinner order was incorrect and waiter seemed off put by our suggestion he bring what we ordered. When two people visit an eatery and sit together, it's a good bet they want to eat their meals at the same time. We used to look forward to visiting Caffe DeLucchi. Not anymore!"

  • "This cafe offers a great breakfast menu. Many twists on favorites that only make the experience better. The only drawback is that they are only open for breakfast during the week at 10 am. Saturday and Sunday they open at 8 am. Don't waste your time waiting in line at Mama's."

  • "Took some time to get seated even with reservation. I had the ossobucco and my wife had the fish special. Both were very good. I wasn't overly fond of the white sangria, but I think that is just personal taste. We would both happily visit this restaurant again"

  • "Appetizer bruschetta was spot on. The main courses we had were solid, but not especially great. The Linguini Vongole and Pollo Parmiagano were perhaps the best, with some zip and rich flavor. The daily special was Osso Buco and although rich enough suffered a bit from the pasta it was served with which was a bit over and sticky. Similarly the Fettucini All Agnello had a flavorful lamb ragu shadowed by the pasta being overdone. In all, nice ambiance, but not as special as I expected from reviews."

  • "My husband and I took my parents out for dinner and we all enjoyed our meals:) The pasta was outstanding and the beer list was very extensive with a lot of imports. The pizza was a bit cheesy but tasty."

  • "Rigatoni and andouille sausage/seafood dish was outstanding. Spicy but very flavorful. Reasonable wine-by-the-glass selection, though my wife would have preferred more white wine choices; the zin was great for me."

  • "It took them awhile to get the coffee order to us even though we ordered it before we sat down. But the coffee was good."

  • "I am puzzled about my experience at Caffe Delucchi. We arrived on time for our reservation to find that our table wasn't ready. A seemingly apathetic wait person made the table but forgot to tell us it was ready. After a bit, we were called over to sit. We looked over the menu and eventually were allowed to place our orders. Our appetizers were all very good, especially the scampi with polenta, cream sauce and arguella. That's when the dinner went off the rails. I ordered a grilled pork chop with gnocchi but received chicken parmigian, and when I sent it it back asking for the pork chop, received a pasta with lamb dish. By this time my sister and husband had finished their entrees and I decided not to try again. New wait person?"

  • "I made a reservation while visiting friends in North Beach. We arrived a few minutes early, and by making a reservation, we were immediately seated at the first available table. My boyfriend loves poached eggs, so I sought this spot out with their variety of benedict options. I ordered to Artichoke Hash Benedict--twas amazing. Oozing eggs over a ripe slice of tomato and artichoke hash, polenta, and oranges that smelled amazing (even for September!). Coffee was hot and served in a huge cup that never went empty. Definitely a must hit if you're in the city and jonesing for some good breakfast!"

  • "We have eaten at this place a couple of times now. The food is outstanding for a place that is so delightfully casual and unassuming. And the service is the most genuinely friendly and attentive that I have had in San Francisco."

  • "Many Italian restaurants in North Beach..which one to choose? I've eaten at 4 or 5 of them, all pretty good. Well this one joins the list with an attractive dining room, cool artwork on the walls, an attentive knowledgeable staff and delicious food. Great people watching. Had a real good bottle of wine for $40. Will go back"

  • "Found this on UrbanSpoon and - overall - very much enjoyed our experience. The food was very tasty, lots of menu choices, portions were generous, pricing was reasonable, etc. Two of us had the pork chop with Gnocchi and an Arugula salad. Both of us thought our meal was exceptional. The pork chop was grilled perfectly. The only downside for us was that we - a party of 5 adults - were seated at a round table that would have been good for 4, but was too tight for 5. Everyone waiting also queued up right behind us. We had a reservation, so we should have been better accommodated. There was a family of 4, with 2 children, seated at a table that would have been more appropriate for a group our size. All in all, though, we would come back again"

  • "I've lived across the street for the past year and had not been there until this past weekend while my parents were in town visiting. I had read Yelp revies and looked at pictures of their food months ago but I live here by myself and I'm new to the city and don't really dine out alone. Caffe DeLucchi may change that, though! We ate dinner and breakfast there. Everything was awesome! The service here was great! These girls are on top of it and make sure you have everything you need. They smile and you can tell they enjoy what they do. I highly recommend Caffe DeLucchi and will make sure to bring in all of my future visitors, which are very frequent. Side note to parents of young babies - no high chairs here. Bring a stroller."

  • "We had the best eggs benedict we've ever had, other than at home; my husband had the traditional, and I had florentine. I was particularly impressed with the fact that the spinach and mushrooms were each well-cooked, which meant they were not cooked together. And the eggs! Once again, getting perfectly poached eggs made all the difference. Last but not least the potatoes were also very good. My one criticism was the noise level, which as the morning wore on, became quite loud, so our thought was to go a little earlier."

  • "Caffe Delucchi was a fun pre theatre dinner but the restaurant at 5 pm on a weekday understandably was near empty. The food was good not spectacular.I am looking for an old school italian restaurant with old time charm and got the neo italian decor with bright lights and busy colors. oops."

  • "Two friends took me out for birthday brunch. We made reservations and we were glad we did -- there was a line. It's a friendly, cute cafe on a corner with big windows along Columbus -- great for people/North Beach-watching. All three of us ordered the Polenta Gorgonzola and we all LOVED it! It was absolutely delicious! Our waitperson kept us supplied with HOT coffee -- we were three happy people! Will definitely go back."
