Cafeteria 15LMother's Day successHad a very nice time with a diverse group of 7, with varying tastes. Happily, all were satisfied. I loved the Chicken and waffles, which was awesome. Large portion of boneless chicken, perfectly crispy coating, with moist interior. The gravy was especially good, and the dish also comes with a nice dollop of pecan butter. Wow. I had made reservations and then had to add an additional 3 people the night before. I was told that we would have to squeeze 9 people into a table that serves 8 and I totally understood. Due to the fact that it was last minute, I said we would make it work. When we arrived 15 minutes early, not only did they seat us right away but they upgraded our table to fit 12 people so we were not crammed!!! It was awesome! Immediately I ordered a Bloody Mary and it was top-notch - spicy like I ordered!! Also, our waitress Karen could not have been more awesome! Not only did she provide excellent service, she happily split up our bill in accordance to the 3 groups we had!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have never been disappointedWe have never been disappointed when we have dined here. It is always very a very nice environment to be in and the people are fantastic. The food is wonderful, and so is the service. We used the valet parking and then left our car there while we went to the theater. I tried the Prawn Haystack appetizer. It had a raw egg yolk on the bottom. I was dubious, but it was delicious. The egg made a great sauce - I would definitely order it again. I also ordered the French Onion soup. I had had this before and thought it was delicious. Unfortunately they changed the recipe. It was now like a grilled cheese sandwich on top of onion stew. Love seeing all the changes to the downtown dining scene. Found Cafeteria15 through Open Table when looking for a place to take out-of-town guests. Great food, super bar and a comfortable ambiance. LOVED the tomato soup! Waiter was a tad attentive, but not what I would call bad. Food was delivered promptly and hot, and the waiter was informed and helpful with choosing from the menu.

Waitress was very helpful and patient in answering questions, and even asked the kitchen a couple of things. This has become a "go to" place for dining near the State Capitol. Food is excellent and very creative. We enjoyed Easter brunch during this visit. I ordered one of the specials, bacon eggs benedict on brioche. It was very tasty, with homemade hollandaise. The addition of bacon under the eggs was perfect. Serverd with a side of their homemade potato tots, there was plenty to eat and we were very satisfied. We came back for dinner the following night to celebrate and sit in the patio area with 2 additional small groups sitting near by. Bad thing---there was only one waitress to attend to everyone in the patio, the celebration was for me and was the last person to receive their drink. We have never been disapointed with the service OR the food. All is wonderful.
But this time we had two children with us and our only disapointment was the cost of the drink for them. I think the waiter should have told us the childrens apple juice was $3.00 each. And one had a refill for another $3.00. It wasn't too loud to carry on a conversation across the table, which is appreciated! We'd eaten there before and everyone was looking forward to it and enjoyed their meals. Personally, I was disappointed in the lack of vegetarian menu choices. The waitress had some good suggestions to alter existing menu items to be vegetarian, which was appreciated and worked out fine for me.
