Private Party Facilities: Our private room on the second floor comfortably accommodates cocktail parties for 100 or a seated dinner for 50 people. The large windows on two sides of the room provide expansive views over Newbury Street and the perfect atmosphere for private lunches, brunch, dinner parties or cocktail receptions. Cafeteria is also available for buyouts as well as private and semi-private functions. Clients can choose from a wide array of appetizers, entrees, desserts, beverages and wines, to create the right formula for their function. From passed hors d’oeuvres with drinks, to an intimate dinner party to a gala event, we can customize a menu that’s exactly right for your event. "Went for a girl's night out here. We had a great time. Got some drinks, an appetizer and dinner. The food was very good as we all enjoyed our meals. The atmosphere was fun. It was kind of loud so probably not a spot you'd want to go on a romantic date to but a perfect spot for a night out with friends. The drinks were DELICIOUS. I appreciate a place with good food and good drinks. The service was a little weird. It took a while for someone to come and take a drink order. It seems that that is the one spot that needs the most improvement. But it wasn't bad enough to ruin the night. Overall had a great time and would definitely go back."

"Three of us girls went for a casual dinner. We had spinach dip, caesar salad and pizza. We all had
a stomach ache a half hour later. Won't go back unless it's just for drinks."

"Sitting on the lower level stinks. Dark and dank. The waitress service there was bad too. The wait staff all hung out at the bar rather than check on us. We waited far too long for drink refills."

"Try to eat here on a beautiful day... or if you aren't in a large group. The food is amazing (have the Macaroni & Cheese), but keep in mind the following: inside is very loud (so again, no large groups), and it's quieter outside. If it's cold out, you might want to try a quieter indoor restaurant."

"I've been to Cafeteria twice in about three weeks -- it was like two different restaurants. The first time we were there (a Friday) was half-full and mostly quiet couples. The 2nd time (a Saturday) was mobbed; two bachelorette parties and a 40th bday. It was so loud we couldn't talk at all. The food is perfectly good. Sort of diner/hipster: meatloaf, mac 'n' cheese -- all dressed up a little. The lamb burger is really good, but the Boston Cream burger was so spicy as to be inedible, and I really like spicy food. It's a little pricey for what it is, but a great deal for that neighborhood. The service was friendly and quick both times."

"I really liked this place. The food we had for brunch was absolutely wonderful. The service was really good and we were seated promptly and they totally understood that two people had cancelled in the last moment."

"The food was good, however the wait staff was rushing us through the entire meal. There was another group coming in after us, and as soon as we made the move to get up, they jumped at the chance to turn the table. Not the most personable people. Food was pretty good, really enjoyed the Tater Tots. Glad to finally have tried the place, but wouldn't necessarily jump at the chance to go back."

"We were called 5 minutes before our 12 noon reservation and told that we would not be able to dine there due to a failure of the computer system that communicates orders to the kitchen. We were in an expensive taxi ride on our way to the restaurant so we continued on and when we arrived the situation had not changed. So we never ate at Cafeteria. Instead we went to Asana at the Mandarin Oriental and had an awesome three course lunch."
