Diner Reviews
  • "Our only problem was with the people at the next table -- very noisy!"

  • "We always enjoy this restaurant and save it for our special ocassions!"

  • "Our food was good, but I have to say, overpriced for the area. $28 for veal picatta is a little pricey. Also, we wanted to sit and eat at the bar and were told that wasn't a good idea, meanwhile it was full with diners by the time we left. For the price, I think there are better options around. We don't mind paying that but, not for just average."

  • "Wonderful atmosphere , great food , great service. Definitely my new favorite Italian restaurant."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "The food and service was very good. We found the entrees about 5-6 dollars more than they should be. The eggplant parm was 19.95. The fettuccine carbonara with chicken was excellent but again at 25.95 pricey. The portions sizes were average. We sat outside which looks out on the parking lot."

  • "Great restaurant-- food is excellent, flavorful with a nice variety. Service is perfect! Attentive and helpful but not hovering. Feels homey comfortable but special! We had a party of 9 and everyone loved their meal and the evening!"

  • "Do not be put off by this restaurant's location, tucked in the corner of a nondescript shopping center along with an IHOP and DMV office. Cafe Vico is fabulous!! They have won numerous awards-Zagat, among them - and rightly so. This is some of the best Italian food you will find, and I've had great Italian food ranging from my Italian grandmother's kitchen to the finest restaurants. The garlic and herb oil with the hot bread is great. The meatball appetizer is great and I am very fussy about meatballs. Do not miss the lasagna, which apparently has won "best lasagna in Broward County" for at least 10 years. It is loaded with meat, mild creamy cheeses, and an exquisite bechamel sauce. Certainly in the top 5 that I have ever had. Mangia"

  • "I wanted a nice setting for lunch and conversation with a friend. Cafe Vico has a new patio area which is beautifully enclosed by greenery. The food is always delicious so trying the outdoor area was a no brainer. But it was still a bit under construction so there were a few nail meets hammer sounds occasionally in the new piano bar area. Still lunch was great and we'll go back as soon as the last touches are finished."

  • "Have not been in the area for many years, but when we had a need to meet friends 1/2 way I remembered this gem. It was just as great as I remembered. We were welcomed as if we were family and our wait staff was wonderful and attentive. The food was superb. Many different items ordered -- all perfect, even for finicky eaters."
    Dined on 3/28/2014
  • "Try the zuppa de calamari, seafood ravioli is the best. Very personal treatment, attentive service and great food We come here often and it never disappoints."

  • "Living in New Jersey, I only get to Fort Lauderdale 1-2x/year to visit family. Dinner at Cafe Vico is always a highlight of the trip. Marco Vico and his staff make you feel like a "regular", with a warm greeting and prompt friendly service. The food is excellent (several specials in addition to the regular menu), the atmosphere is lively, and the night always ends with everyone happy. Check this place out!"

  • "The food is always good - but the night we were there the service was off - no refillon water, no "how is everything" --the waiter was overwhelmed and could not service his tables..."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "Just like to get away for an evening out, like a date night, good bar, good food and the owner is always pleased to see us. It is a must for an night out."

  • "Great atmosphere in here but don't go if you want high end Italian food, it's heavy going and loaded with garlic :("

  • "we were there at 5:30 pm when they opened. was a little disappointed with the service. had to seek out our server on several occasions."

  • "Located in a corner of a strip mall, you'd hardly notice this charming Italian bistro unless you were searching for it. AUTHENTIC regional Italian food prepared with care from scratch and served by courteous waiters. Weather permitting there is outdoor seating available, as well as a main restaurant area, a small adjunct for private parties, and a medium size banquet room that is often pressed into use on weekends during season for overflow dining. On 2 visits we enjoyed the amazing homemade pastas, savory slow roasted lamb shank and fresh fish. The wine list is modest but well thought out and the prices are competitive. On both visits the owner stopped by the table to make sure we were completely satisfied, and we were. A Must Go."

  • "Wonderful and authentic - don't be dissuaded by the location - excellent and authentic Italian food!"
    Dined on 2/21/2014
  • "waitstaff tend to congregate around the bar and socialize with each other, and do not watch what is happening with the guests some of the time. This really spoils the experience, as the food quality, taste and presentation is very good."
    Dined on 2/20/2014
  • "My wife and I had Valentines dinner here, so it was very crowded. However, they handled the service and food presentation very well. The food was excellent !! We also enjoyed the pianist/singer on the porch."
    Dined on 2/14/2014
  • "I often heard about this restaurant, but never took the time to visit until last week. What a great neighborhood gem (I live in Poinsettia Heights nearby). Fabulous Italian, fish, chicken and the best broccoli rabe I've had in a long time. The wine list was terrific and atmosphere intimate even though there were families with children sitting nearby. The service is white glove, yet not intrusive or over powering. I highly recommend the restaurant for a special occasion or nice evening out."

  • "Authentic Italian. Great intimate atmosphere, excellent food and service. Eggplant parm was delicious as was the fettuccini carbonara. Will definitely return and recommend."
    Dined on 2/10/2014
  • "My wife and I have dined at Café Vico many times over the years and really enjoyed it. Unfortunately they have raised their prices so much that it is no longer the great deal it used to be. The quality of the food is still very good, but the portions have gotten smaller and the prices have increased to the point where there are many other fine restaurants in that price range in Fort Lauderdale. Also the service was not what it has been in the past"

  • "I have been to Café Vico Ristorante on many occasions, sometimes family events or dining with friends, etc. The food has always been of the highest quality and the staff is very attentive and polite. I've never felt rushed. The owners take a lot of pride in their food and staff, and appreciate their customers."

  • "Overpriced for the service, presentation and food quality."

  • "I look forward to dining at Café Vico every time I am in Fort Lauderdale, dining there is one of the highlights of my trip. If you are looking for awesome authentic Italian food Café Vico is the place for you. I recommend the Veal Milanese, Tortellini and Carbonara you will not be disappointed."

  • "A friend told me about this restaurant, hidden in the corner of a shopping center on Federal Highway, near Sunrise Blvd. I didn't even know it was here but I will definitely come again. We were greeted at the door as though we were old friends but the greeting was genuine, not fake. Our waiter was well informed about the food and very helpful. The food was excellent! It's a bit pricey for every day but I will definitely come again."

  • "My favorite Italian restaurant. Best Veal picatta I have eaten."
    Dined on 1/15/2014
  • "My husband loved his Oso Bucco. I had seafood risotto which was also very tasty. The place is in a shopping mall and the décor is dated. B/W celebrity photos covered every inch of the walls. I am quite sure they never visited this place. The prices were quite high and my husband had to ask the price of the Oso which was $42. Everything was a la carte. Most of the restaurants in Fort Lauderdale were expensive. In comparison we visited friends in Delray Beach and went to an Italian restaurant where you really got a bang for your buck."
