A word from Cafe Un Deux Trois
Cafe Un Deux Trois has been located in the heart of Times Square since 1977. We opened when the neighborhood was still very rough , and quickly became THE brasserie to stop for dinner and drinks before heading off to Studio 54 and Xenon to dance the night away.
We were and still are frequented by American and European theater and film actors, as well as politicians, directors, local New Yorkers and tourists from around the world. You will find many a Broadway cast and crew member hanging out after the show on any given night.

We recently had a facelift featuring enormous windows and a new color scheme.
The food while still classic bistro fare has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and an extensive breakfast.
We have also added a selection of savory and sweet crepes to our dining choices.

Diner Reviews
  • "Everything is always well done at this convenient and beautiful restaurant. The staff, service and food were excellent."

  • "The location is perfect for pre theatre dinner, our entrees (salmon and tilapia) were good and the service was more than acceptable. Not a restaurant that I would normally choose as a destination, but for our pre theatre needs, it was an excellent choice."

  • "Great food, great service, great ambiance. Perfect pre-theater dinner."

  • "It's been years since we've been here and we were pleased to see it is still a great restaurant for lunch before the show. We ordered the omelets and a bottle of champagne both were excellent. The service was very attentive. The only disappointment was the crepe suzette...they didn't light it at our table and it was very soggy and tasteless. Cappuccino was very good."

  • "a great place to go for a pre theater dinner they seem to still have their act together after all these years."

  • "I have been eating at this restaurant for several decades and each meal and the service have always been good."

  • "Who says New York is a cold place? Certainly not anyone who has been so warmly welcome and treated like a valued guest at Café Un Deux Trois! Our post-theater dinner on Sunday was superb and the kindness and attention paid by the staff were truly heartwarming. Bravo! as well to the Moules-Frites, and the Crème brûlée. Mostly, the staff was terrific with the kids. What a relief! We'll be sure to come back (with or without the kids)."

  • "A nice menu with nice choices for a relaxing pre-theatre meal before a matinee or evening performance. Service was very attentive and friendly."

  • "My son picked this restaurant after reading in reviews that it had many gluten free options. While I was disappointed in the number of gluten-free options, three plus salads, no one in our party was disappointed with the food overall. Definitely worth the trip. The salmon was moist and delicious. My husband enjoyed the jumbalaya crepe and apple filled dessert. Our one food complaint was the sugar on the creme brûlée was a bit burnt."

  • "My 10 year-old daughter and I enjoyed a great lunch before a Saturday matinee. I ordered off the main menu, although the prix-fixe was appealing (I wasn't hungry enough for three courses, though I was glad I saved room for their delicious chocolate mousse!). My daughter ordered off the children's menu. Lots of choices, good service and we enjoyed our meal."

  • "My brother and I came here for the first time for breakfast last week. The menu contained an assortment of delicious dining options. It was so hard to choose what to eat; everything seemed appealing. I eventually opted for the Nutella crepes along with a cup of cappuccino. This was one of the best cappuccinos I ever tasted. The crepes were also quite delicious!"

  • "I've come here several times usually due to its convenient location surrounding nearby theatres. The service was uneven and the food mediocre for the price. The cocktails were lovely. Probably won't be back."

  • "Always welcoming and never disappointing. A true New York treasure."

  • "Frozen entree and mixed vegetables. Just horrible. Service was only slightly better."

  • "I love the salmon burger. My husband's steak was perfect. Our salads were fresh and yummy. It's reliable and quick and has a fun atmosphere. I always enjoy coloring with the crayons on the paper table cloths :-). There's something for everyone on the menu. Bon apetit!"

  • "Charming interior, great ambiance. I was able to converse with my dining partner easily and without shouting. The food was served in a timely manner for pre-theater. I enjoyed the meal, it was tasty."

  • "Had an early dinner with a friend. Excellent location close to theaters and Times Square. Beautiful interiors and lighting - feels like you are in Paris."

  • "This restaurant was on a list of recommendations from the company I bought theatre tickets from. It was right next door to the theatre I was going to, and appeared to have a traditional French bistro menu. It lived up to the billing. Food was very good, and nicely presented. The service was certainly better than what other reviews had indicated, simply reminded me of a typical bistro in Paris. I would go again."

  • "I specifically choose Un Deux Trois for pre-theater. I wish Open Table would include this option in #2 above."

  • "Are here after the theatre. Terrific menu with enough choices for everyone. The food was outstanding. This will definitely become a NY staple for us."

  • "My mother loves this restaurant, so we went there on their recent visit to Manhattan. The meal was very nice, and we enjoyed our table placement. The food was fantastic, even if you're not a fan of "french food" there is something there that you will enjoy. Personally, I had the crab cake salad, which had a lot of crab in it, and the Wild Salmon Grille, both not traditional "French" cuisine (though I was tempted to order the Beef Bourguignon, which my brother had and it looked delicious."

  • "The food and service were just fine but the noise level made it difficult for the four of us to have ongoing conversations. Our orders were quite diverse and all seemed to enjoy the food. Service was excellent and food was served hot and all together."

  • "With a good location on 44th St, the Cafe offers a fine meal in a pleasant setting and always manages to do so in time to catch a play on Broadway. Good option for a decent meal before the theatre. Also, with seating available at 5, we were able to have a very nice dinner after a matinee performance, giving us a chance to relax and miss the worst of the rush hour traffic out of the City."

  • "During our recent visit to NYC to see a Broadway matinee, we wanted to find somewhere nice but kid-friendly for lunch. Cafe Un Deux Trois, located a block from our theater, fit the bill perfectly. There was a wide range of delicious menu items as well as a prix fixe menu. The service was very friendly and prompt."

  • "We recently visited NY and we had a nice dinner at this restaurant. Great location, near Broadway. Reasonable prices."

  • "Un deux trois is no longer a good restaurant. It's now only a fake French bistro, no longer the real thing. Last time I was there, there were no mussels or salade nicoise on the menu, and the pate forrestier and chocolate mousse were store-bought. Yuck! Will NEVER go again."
    Dined on 7/27/2014
  • "I love the lunch menu and the great desserts. Also, it has an energenic feel which allows for lively conversations. ( No need to whisper) I went on a lunch/meeting and we were able to sit as long as we wanted. Fabulous! I look forward to my next visit. Thank you."

  • "Everything always competent and acceptable at Cafe 123 for a bite before or after theatre, fair prices...."
    Dined on 7/24/2014
  • "I frequently dined here when I lived in NY in the early 80s. I haven't been here since 1985. This was my first choice, which was an excellent choice on this visit. It's almost 30 years later and I loved being here again. The food was good. The service was great. I love this place!"
    Dined on 7/23/2014
  • "We have eaten here several times and have always had a good experience. Good variety on menu and service is prompt. Gets very busy and somewhat noisy before shows, but is convenient to Broadway theaters and service is quick if you need to get to a show."

  • "Very good theatre district restaurant, but very noisy."

  • "A simple bite to eat before a broadway matinee turned into a truly fantastic dining experience! Every dish that we ordered was as delicious as the last! The bread was warm and fresh! And best of all, the service was incredible! Friendly and attentive and accommodating!! A++++++"

  • "Great Parisian feel. Delicious food. Friendly service. Highly recommended!"

  • "I've been coming here for many years, but unfortunately the place has changed. Food is no longer the French food I recall, and service has really slipped, with waiter disappearing for long periods of time. I always felt welcomed and comfortable here and KNEW I'd get a good meal served well, but unfortunately no longer."

  • "I love Cafe Un Deux Trois. I have been there many time for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was a hugh disappointment. Prices were about 15% higher than they should have been. The food was fine, but there just seemed to be a level of dingy-ness (new word meaning slightly dirty). The plates my quiche was served on looked like it hand me down for a first apartment. I thought this would be a nice place to take some out of town guests but it wasn't any better - in fact it would have been better to have gone to a diner. One positive is that the service is decent and they are good with kids; but the setting was just not what it is at lunch or dinner."

  • "Took mom who is French Canadian before seeing Mama Mia and it was wonderful! Duck crepe to die for and desserts were perfect! Service was excellent and location and ambiance wonderful. Perfect for pre or post show bite. Grandma was thrilled to order in French!"

  • "We've been here a few times for pre-theater dinner-- always good, courteous and reservations quickly honored. The wait staff is very kind, good and helpful."
    Dined on 7/17/2014
  • "Entrees were mediocre and French fries looked to be of the frozen skinless variety, which takes the fun out of steak frites. Attentive service but waiter talked us into ordering more expensive entrees, which weren't worth the price."

  • "Fabulous waitstaff. Outstanding food, fairly priced, good portions, delicious desserts! Waiters sang best rendition of "Happy Birthday" with gusto!"
