A word from Cafe Un Deux Trois
Cafe Un Deux Trois has been located in the heart of Times Square since 1977. We opened when the neighborhood was still very rough , and quickly became THE brasserie to stop for dinner and drinks before heading off to Studio 54 and Xenon to dance the night away.
We were and still are frequented by American and European theater and film actors, as well as politicians, directors, local New Yorkers and tourists from around the world. You will find many a Broadway cast and crew member hanging out after the show on any given night.

We recently had a facelift featuring enormous windows and a new color scheme.
The food while still classic bistro fare has expanded to include a variety of sandwiches, hamburgers and an extensive breakfast.
We have also added a selection of savory and sweet crepes to our dining choices.

Diner Reviews
  • "Great Parisian feel. Delicious food. Friendly service. Highly recommended!"

  • "I've been coming here for many years, but unfortunately the place has changed. Food is no longer the French food I recall, and service has really slipped, with waiter disappearing for long periods of time. I always felt welcomed and comfortable here and KNEW I'd get a good meal served well, but unfortunately no longer."

  • "I love Cafe Un Deux Trois. I have been there many time for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was a hugh disappointment. Prices were about 15% higher than they should have been. The food was fine, but there just seemed to be a level of dingy-ness (new word meaning slightly dirty). The plates my quiche was served on looked like it hand me down for a first apartment. I thought this would be a nice place to take some out of town guests but it wasn't any better - in fact it would have been better to have gone to a diner. One positive is that the service is decent and they are good with kids; but the setting was just not what it is at lunch or dinner."

  • "Took mom who is French Canadian before seeing Mama Mia and it was wonderful! Duck crepe to die for and desserts were perfect! Service was excellent and location and ambiance wonderful. Perfect for pre or post show bite. Grandma was thrilled to order in French!"

  • "We've been here a few times for pre-theater dinner-- always good, courteous and reservations quickly honored. The wait staff is very kind, good and helpful."

  • "Entrees were mediocre and French fries looked to be of the frozen skinless variety, which takes the fun out of steak frites. Attentive service but waiter talked us into ordering more expensive entrees, which weren't worth the price."

  • "Fabulous waitstaff. Outstanding food, fairly priced, good portions, delicious desserts! Waiters sang best rendition of "Happy Birthday" with gusto!"

  • "Server was really attentive. He had a table next to us that wanted to monopolize his time and chat throughout the evening. Somehow he was able to accommodate them and still make sure we got the service we needed. Not sure how he pulled it off but great job."

  • "And the service always is great. Been coming there for over 20 years. Can always find a good bottle of wine on the list. Love taking friends there."

  • "Excellent food and service and probably best prix fixed deal ever"

  • "I took some out-of-town friends for dinner before the theater. There aren't that many good restaurants in the Times Square area that don't cater to tourists and Care Un Deux Trois used to be one of them. Unfortunately, while our waiter was great, the food was only so-so, and very overpriced for what we got. Not bad. Decent. Very convenient for the theater, just nothing special."

  • "Went for breakfast with my group of 5. Restaurant was fairly full at 8am. Food was very good. Price was affordable. Will definitely be going back again as a group and individually."

  • "Always top notch! Good prices. Steak tartar is superb. One of the best in the city."

  • "I had lost track of this restaurant. The food is great. It feels like Paris. The prices are quite reasonable. I have not done dinner, but can recommend breakfast or lunch."

  • "Extensive menu of French food. Quality and preparation was very good. Waiter was also nice (not French). Good value for the price"

  • "A great pre show dinner spot. Pre fixe is a value! We had the cordon blue and it was delicious! Wait staff very attentive."

  • "Food was "okay". Easy theatre location. I guess I would go back if I couldn't find someplace else to go."

  • "Great French ambiance with authentic French food. Enjoyed the vegetable crepe as well as the Croque Monsieur. Staff was attentive even on a busy Friday night. Great for lunch or pre-show dinner."

  • "First, the two of us were moved to a less desirable table in the midst of tables of 4 and 6, all of whom were seated and had ordered. Fortunately we were served fairly quickly, however the tables all around us were anxious about their lack of service. The wait staff was ignoring our entire area because the other patrons were loudly trying to get served and on to the theater. It was really disruptive and unpleasant to hear all the loud voices complaining. Not a nice, relaxing way to start an evening out."

  • "Best attribute is location within the theater district. Salmon dishes were ok. Salad apps with goat cheese arrived without the goat cheese. Boeuf Bourguignon and lamb shank were well below par for a French restaurant."

  • "Was very disappointed- The service was non existent- when finally getting the attention of a waiter,or busboy,or whoever you could talk to- the main reply was- " we are very busy " worst thing to say to anyone ( except if you are treating them like they are NOT paying ) like all those other people who ARE paying and getting the service. Will NOT go back there- and surly guy at the front desk, should work in a stockroom so he does not need to deal with people- hard time getting the check-"

  • "Terrific French bistro food. Love their croque monsuier. Good fries, crepes, salads and light fare. Fast service, good for pre-theatre, they can get you out out on time. It is a noisy restaurant, however, so dont go with someone hard of hearing. I am a repeat customer, it is a good reliable place and has never failed us."

  • "We went for a pre-theater birthday lunch for our 11 year old daughter. The crepes were just delicious. The lighting was bright. The atmosphere was fresh and airy, without being too cold, despite the hot and humid weather outside. We would definitely recommend this restaurant to others (I already have) and we will definitely return. The service was attentive and kind - food came out fairly quickly after being ordered. They sang happy birthday to our daughter and we were all very happy with Cafe un deus trois!"

  • "Been here many, many times. So dependable and, for the theatre district, a good bang for the buck. Nothing in NY is cheap, but here you get really great food for moderate (NY) prices. Sometimes can be noisy, but for me that adds to the fun. Attentive and professional service. Love the salads. Just like Paris - fresh and filling. Daily soups are usually good, too. (I'm not an Onion Soup fan, but I'm sure it's great!) I've also had the crepes - nice variety of sweet and savory. My dining companion had Chicken Cordon Bleu - it looked terrific. There are a bunch of Bistro-style restaurants around town. Lots, actually. But Un Deux Trois certainly has my vote for number one."

  • "my husband and I went to see Phantom of the Opera's matinee show and chose Cafe Un Deaux Trois for dinner afterward. We had made a reservation but got there early and were seated right away. The service was attentive and the food very good. We were very happy with the choice!"

  • "Always a great place to meet with a friend or a group of friends, fun lively space, close to all the theaters."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "On of my long-time favorites in the Broadway area is no longer. The noise level, the service and the feel of a French bistro are still there but the food the other night was bland and tasteless. In addition they must have forgotten to put the steak on the sandwich-just 1 1/2 thin slices on each half."
    Dined on 6/19/2014
  • "Perfect for pre theatre. Service and food were both very good. Wide variety of choices. Very noisy when we went prior to a matinee."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "Service was slow, couldn't hear myself think, never mind the company I was with. Had to ask for our lunch. But the n again, it was Wednesday matinee day. So perhaps another day would be better."
    Dined on 6/18/2014
  • "We were late getting to our reservation and therefore running late for the theater. The were wonderful accommodating us and the food was perfect."

  • "We go to Un Deux Trois every time we go to New York. The location is convenient to theaters but not in the midst of the Times Square chaos. Bistro type food is consistently fine and prix fixe Sunday brunch and lunch have lots of choices. It is a big room but not too noisy and the service is friendly and unpretentious."
    Dined on 6/15/2014
  • "We were the first people there at 4:30 so our service was perfect and there was no noise level at that time. The prix fixe dinner for 31.00 was a great value and the food and portions from the bread to the dessert were delicious! The chocolate martini was fabulous and all four of us could not have been happier and more satisfied. I haven't been here in years and am looking forward to returning soon."

  • "I've always loved this place. The food is always excellent. They have a great wine list. The wait staff is always friendly and attentive and the location of the restaurant is very convenient for theater goers. I know of no reason to not recommend Un Deux Trois unless you don't like French Bistro food."

  • "This is an old standby for us as a pre-theater restaurant. The servers will always get you going in time for your show and the menu is broad enough that everyone can find something they will enjoy eating."

  • "Convenient to theater district, friendly wait staff and good food. One, two, three-a great combination."

  • "This was our first visit since the renovations. With out of town guests staying nearby we thought it would be perfect for a pre theater bite. Service as always was fabulous. Attentive server was on the top of his game I was hoping for a light seasonal perhaps, appetizer. None were offered so I opted to begin with green salad Greens were gritty and limp under the weight of way too much dressing, really pretty gross My entree of salmon was fine and my guests seemed to enjoy theirs as well I think the sprucing up could have continued with a great tile blasting of the floors and a Reno of the restrooms as the bathroom was kind of gross Overall I would recommend, I just would suggest you stay away from items that need washing like salad"

  • "If you're going to the theater, this is a good alternative. They have been there for years, its usually full so a lot of other people also like it, and they do a good job of getting you out before curtain time. You can count on very efficient service, decent food for the price and an "old world" feel. That said, I would not consider it a destination fine-dining establishment to go out of your way to get to. The snails were a bit tough as was my half chicken that for some reason was served with french fries. The service was good but rushed even though we were quite early for our performance next door. But that's better than being slow. In the same situation I'd return but stick to simpler things from their menu."

  • "The poached eggs on the eggs benedict were overcooked. The quiche had kind of a mushy consistency- not very pleasant. The croque madame was very bland. The only good item we had was the nutella crepe and it was delicious."
