Cafe Trio CottonwoodNight out with the girlsWonderful patio seating, great weather! Arrived early for reservation, hostess was polite and sat us immediately and had menus moments later. Our server was attentive, polite and not hard on the eyes! Seems Trio likes to hire young, good looking men for their waitstaff. No complaints here!
Appetizer: rosemary flat bread. Bold flavors that complimented each other with my glass of 14 hands Merlot. Entree: agnolotti stuffed with gorgonzola cheese, mushrooms in a carmelized tomato sauce with grilled chicken. Delicious combination!
Complaint: noise. In the beginning we could hear each other talk, by the end of the meal I was reading lips. There was also a very unhappy and loud baby next to us. We tried Brunch on Sunday and we are going to Brunch again on this Sunday. The food is great and the specials are perfect The servers we have had every time are great not only knowing the items on the menu but the specials. We decided to try the brunch buffet for Mother's Day because last year we waited an hour past out reservation time at the place we usually go for Mothers Day and did not want to do that again.
We were seated immediately upon arriving and our drink orders can within 2 minutes. Then we went to the buffet and it was a nice mix of breakfast foods as well as petite tenderloins, chickem, pasta and salads. There was something for everyone and everything I ate was delicious. The kids were free which was also very nice. We just went for brunch and I would say that the dishes are either awesome or ok. The flatbread starters are a must. I have gone to Trio just for these and a glass of wine. The french toast and ham and eggs were delicious, but the eggs benedict looked a little sad. The potatoes were burnt and the eggs benedict looked very small to me. I would have preferred eggs benedict from Village Inn. The only thing that was a bit of a negative was the service. Even though the restaurant wasn't busy (we were there for Sunday brunch) it took a few minutes for someone to greet and seat us. Then, once we were seated our server had a hard time getting everything out at the same time. There were 4 of us and we all ordered drinks. 2 of the cocktails came out right away, but the other 2 came out 5 minutes later. 3 of our 4 entrees came out at the same time, but the 4th entree came out 5 minutes later.
